Collection theme for the DOOM Series by request of @Robin55
Hope you all enjoy!
By JPGIIIGreetings all,
I've been a huge fan of the Nostalgia video sets that Viking and Dragon57 created and have been using them on my Big Box for a long while at this point.
A few months back I asked them for permission and access to the source files for the playlist set and they generously provided them (to everyone!)
I've been pretty busy since that time but lately I've been working on various playlist/genre videos in the style of the "Playlists" video from that set.
Feel free to edit them as well.
Thanks again to Viking and Dragon57 for making these possible.
I've made a matching Clear Logo Set that can be found here:
Ace Combat Armored Core Assassins Creed Baseball Basketball Batman Castlevania Contra Crash Bandicoot DC (Comics) Disney Final Fantasy Football Golf Hockey James Bond Mario Marvel (Comics) Mega Man Metroid Olympics Pac-man Racket Sports (same as tennis other than center screen) Sonic Spider-man Star Wars Tennis Wrestling X-Games (e.g. skateboarding, skydiving, snowboarding, etc.) Zelda
By Robin55This is a collection of mostly Console based Genre Intro Videos I have made. The concept is to make the videos fit with @letstalkaboutdune's Arcade Genre collection though there are some slight differences. Big thanks to letstalkaboutdune for his help and his Beat 'em up, Shoot 'em up, Puzzle, Fighting, Platform, Racing Sports and Run & Gun Logos. Thanks to @Mute64 for his LightGun Logo. The other Logos are either Hyperspin logos or were made by me. Many thanks to the EmuMovies community and the HyperSpin community. The video files are hosted at EmuMovies.

My Playlists can be found here, They are not perfect but a good starting point
Here is a set of ,currently, 270 Collection videos to be used with playlists. This coincides with all of the media released in the @CriticalCid theme "Unified". I have decided to upload them here, because Jason is a busy man,and I understand how much work it could be to enter this many videos in manually. I do plan on releasing more in the future, with an estimated goal of around 500-600 total playlist videos,as well as all of the artwork for the Unified theme that's needed. I do not have an estimated time-frame as to the release of more,I just know that's the plan. While I never expect anyone to actually have 600 playlists in their BigBox setup,I do believe that variety is the spice of life, and this will give plenty of options for personalizing your lists.Enjoy!
Here was the release video I made for the initial 70 Collection videos :
And here was the preview video of the 200 videos that followed :
You can also find the Genre videos here :
And the Favorites videos here:
And the Developer Video set here...
Theme for a Mario series playlist.
Similar to Mega Man, I put all Mario games into a single category; Mario Kart to Super Mario Bros. However, since some people might use separate playlists for things like Mario Kart, I put focus on featuring gameplay from the platformers in the series and didn't incorporate any art from non-platformers in the theme.
Hope you guys like it!
Pixel art banner. Just put in the Banner folder in your Mario Playlist folder.
Took a little bit, but here is a theme for a Fighter Classics playlist, This theme was requested by @igotdvds and the clear logo was also provided by him.
Hope you enjoy!
Pixel art banner. Just put in the Banner folder in your Fighter Classics Playlist folder.
Here is a set of ,currently, 25 Genre videos to be used with playlists. This coincides with all of the media released in the @CriticalCid theme "Unified". I do have plans to extend this total to about 50-60 Genre Playlists, but no current time-line for release yet.Enjoy!

Hope you all enjoy it! It was a toss up between the Juno Reactor's remix of Traci Lords's "Control" or Napalm Death's "Twist the Knife Slowly" from the original movie soundtrack. Decided on this one, but if someone would prefer the Napalm Death track, just let me know and I can upload a version with it, though I'd probably take out the gong sound effect and the two "Get over here" and "Fight" sound bites from that one.
@angelobodetti, Here it is!
Pixel art banner. Just put in the Banner folder in your MK Playlist folder.
Version 2 video below.
This was a request from @BlueArrowUK. I don't normally get these finished so quickly, but this was so much fun that I just spent the last 4 hours doing nothing but working on it and it all came together pretty nice I think.
Hope you all enjoy it.
I've also included a clear logo that I mocked up as well as a banner image. I like using pixel art for my playlist banners. I'm going to update the existing playlist vids with the pixel art I use for those, too. Just put Marvin in the Banner folder after making the playlist (Images\Playlists\Looney Tunes Collection\Banner) if you want to use it.
Just started making platform and playlist videos. Couldn't find video for a Pokemon Theme, so I put this one together.
By Wanderer189Someone asked me to post this to help them get their playlists set up after seeing one of my rigs. I thought it might be helpful to others as well. If you have ever wanted to get into using the Playlists features in BigBox the easy way, this just might be what you've been looking for. A huge thanks goes out to Viking for giving me permission to use some of his videos to incorporate into these sets. He does absolutely amazing work! Thank you Sir!
Here is a short video showing what you will (sorta) have when you are finished (we all have different games):
The videos used are a new design and are different from my other sets. There are links to those below. I am using the Retro Console Theme v2 for this guide, but the principles are the same and should work with most of the current themes, but the videos snaps used in the guide are more geared towards those themes that offer left sided Vertical Wheels. If you follow the entire guide, after your finished you will be a Pro with how Launchbox uses the playlists, videos, clear logos, etc..
If you are new to Launchbox or how the playlists, images, videos, etc., work in Launchbox, I strongly suggest that you start out using the Retro Console Theme (or v2) to set everything up. This will give you what is in the sample video. After you have it all set up, and you know everything is working, you can experiment with different themes, video sets, playlists, etc..
Here is how to do it:
After you have Launchbox installed and all your games imported, make a backup or a copy of your entire Launchbox folder so you can always go back if you make a mistake. The path should be something like "c:\program files\launchbox", depending on where you installed Launchbox.
First thing to do is to download one of the Retro Console Themes, they can be found here:
Retro Console Theme or Retro Console Theme V2
After you have the theme installed and working as you like, change your views in the theme to the following:
Default Startup View: Platform Categories
Games List View: Vertical Wheel 2
Platforms List View: Platform Wheel 4 - (you can always change these later to your personal tastes)
- To get to these settings: <ESC> on your keyboard, go down to Options, then Views, then press <ENTER>
Next you need to download the following 4 files:
Complete Clear Logo Set.zip - (visit the post to download them individually or by set) Complete Ultimate Platforms Video (at the bottom of the Download this file list) Complete Ultimate Platform Categories Video (at the bottom of the Download this file list) Complete Ultimate Playlists Video Set.zip.mp4 (at the bottom of the Download this file list) (All the files can be downloaded individually if you prefer using the Download this file button)
After all the files have been downloaded, the first thing you need to do is rename the three downloaded VIDEO files (you need to remove the .mp4 from the end of them). So, "Complete Ultimate Playlists Video Set.zip.mp4" will be renamed to "Complete Ultimate Playlists Video Set.zip" and so on. (I had to do this to allow me to upload the complete set as a zip file. This section of the forums doesn't allow .zip extensions). Make sure to do the 3 of them before trying to extract them.
After they have been renamed, extract all 4 files. When you extract the Complete Clear Logo Set.zip, it will be the close to 500 individual sets of zipped files that are .7z and will have to be extracted again. (I had to do this for upload/download size because the forum didn't accept the .7z format)
Now using the Readme.txt in the extracted folders, drop-n-drag everything where it needs to go.
Once you get everything copied into its proper place, open BigBox and go into the settings and "Refresh All Images"
-To get to these settings: <ESC> on your keyboard, go down to Options, then Image Cache, then press <ENTER>, then down to "Refresh All Images" and press <ENTER>
Note: BigBox will be a bit slow at first as all the new images need to load and cached, this is normal, after everything is cached up it'll be good-to-go.
Don't forget to configure your controller so you can easily switch between Platforms, Platform Categories, Playlists, etc..
This is a super simple way to get started with using playlists and genres/categories. I hope this has been helpful. Now you can fully customize as your heart desires with different themes, modifying your genre/category data of your games, playlists, videos, etc..
If you add new games or have games that are not appearing in your new playlist setup, go to the game in Launchbox, right-click on it and select "edit" and change the genre(s) to match the categories you would like it to appear in from the drop-down. Launchbox should update all your playlists for you!
If you add any new genre(s) and create new additional auto-generated playlists, each one will need a new clear logo (for each platform used) and a video snap created for it in order to match this set. I will try to upload all my templates later so you can make your own clear logos and videos after I get everything done. I will try to do requests, but try to make them for genres that have at least 5-10 games through out all the platforms.
If you have modified or customized playlists, you can add these, but be careful not to over-write your current ones.

By Robin55Some simple Mix and Match Intro Videos of Snap Collages for Playlists. I used the same font as @JamesBaker does in some of the videos so they can sort of mesh with his videos for now (until James gets around to making a playlist video)
Theme for the Devil May Cry series:
Clear Logo and and image to use as the Banner are below
A set of 22 Favorites Playlist category videos. These are subjective to the persons taste in games,so I included games that I prefer as favorites in the videos. Some may or may not agree with the choices used in some of the videos, but, this was made for my own personal setup, and If anyone wants to use them as well, I figured I would just make them available. At this time I have no plans to add any more of these...but,If I get the itch to make the category bigger,I may.
The style of these videos matches the previous sets I have released
And the Developer Video set here....
By InvaderSuper Smash Bros. playlist theme for video game frontends. There are two quality options to chose from. Those being 4K and 720p for high-end and low-end systems respectively. There are 3 available song options (listed below).

A set of 22 Developer Playlist category videos. Just a handful of my favorite developers, and I do plan to add some more to this set in the future.
These match my previous sets which can be found here...
By buxilaksThis is a video for 'BRUTAL Doom' as a playlist.
My list was created by importing Windows shortcuts.
In the Windows shortcut i created, I've told Windows to boot Doom in GZdoom.exe (the program that runs Doom) and at the same add BRUTAL Doom as a mod.
Right-click on your new shortcut --> Select 'Properties' --> go to the tab 'Shortcut' --> Under 'Target' add the command you want.
Mine looks like this:
"D:\01 Roms\Brutal Doom\gzdoom.exe" -file doomu.wad brutalv20b_R.pk3
See screenshot for help. It's basically the software gzdoom.exe with doomu.wad followed by brutalv20b_R.pk3
DON'T FORGET THE "" MARKS, OR IT WONT WORK
Now drag and drop your new Windows shortcut on Launchbox and select 'None of the above' when asked.
Select Windows as platform and proceed to the end.
This way I've added a list of games for the Doom engine, with or without mods, as separate shortcuts/Launchbox games.

Playlist them for Castlevania. Big special thanks to @MetalVinnie for the track (performed by him) that was used in this theme! There are two versions: One with blood spatter and one without (I didn't really like it much myself, so did two versions).
1. No blood version
2. With blood version
Pixel art banner. Just put in the Banner folder in your Castlevania Playlist folder.
This is a Playlist theme intended to compliment @MetalVinnie's Playlist, logo and bezels he made recently. Hope you guys enjoy! Links to the Playlist/logo and Bezels are below:
Pixel art banner. Just put in the Banner folder in your NES Black Box Playlist folder.
This is technically a version 2 of the playlist theme I did originally, but I made a different clear logo for this one, so uploading it separately. Apologies for the larger size, but I wanted to use the full length of the song.
