Not nearly as fancy as some of the other startup videos on here, but I have been trying to get back into 3D animation and recently came across a video about dynamic objects creating text and thought i'd try it out by throwing this together. Hopefully someone out there may like it.
The music is part of one of my own songs. I'm personally not feeling that it fits for this purpose but I couldn't find anything I liked better at the moment to suit the Big Box feel. If you have any suggestions, I'd be happy to swap out the audio and render it again.
Modeled, shaded, and rendered to still PNG images in Cinema 4D. (6 hours and 31 minutes to render a 15 second animation.. lol) Imported PNG stills into Vegas Pro, added music and a light motion blur, then rendered back down to a 1080p video.
By dmjohn0xBigbox 1080p Retro Intro
Intros have been integrated as of 7.5. You can download THIS intro under downloads then "Launchbox/Bigbox Official Media " and "Bigbox 1080p Retro Intro"
To get this working. Simply download the intro, rename it to startup.mp4 the drop it into your ...\Launchbox\Videos\ folder.
Then, in bigbox, navigate to options>General and set a startup delay/turn off bigbox logo on start.
If you need more information, you can check out the tutorial here:
THE SD Collection is now available for those CRT Junkies among you:
By PyrometheousIt looks like I posted this in the wrong place before, so I'm uploading it correctly now.
So I figured out how to embed the youtube preview (I feel silly about how simple it was). I've placed it into the downloads section, so hopefully you guys enjoy this. This is my first attempt at a startup video for BigBox.
By harryokeyes i know its another startup video, yes i know that some people think my work is crap , yes i have been told ive got no talent.
But to be fair , if you think you can do better then do it !!
Instead of saying what bad green screen effects i use , show me good ones.
Music used is by David whittaker (c64) sidtune.
By GrilaHere's a quick little intro I made for my own system and thought I'd share here for others.
By viking# WHAT IS IT ?
COLORFUL is a complete and coherent high quality graphic set, around a unique design. Made with love in France. I hope you like it ! ?
Here are planned development axes:
COLORFUL Theme : The main hub, a unique interface for BigBox. COLORFUL Platform Video : Complete 4K video set, with a unique design. COLORFUL Source : To involve the community in the platform video creation. COLORFUL BigBox Startup Video : custom video to match the general design. (new) COLORFUL Startup Theme : (soon) COLORFUL Pause Theme : (soon) # HERE IS COLORFUL BIGBOX STARTUP VIDEO:
A video specially created to match the design of the Colorful theme, to cover all the visual aspects of BigBox.
For now, only 1 video. More to come
# I NEED YOUR HELP : PATREON ?
I will make a first batch of 65 systems, according to my personal use.
But we are far from covering any game system!
If the community doesnt take over the creation, 2 choices: the project stops /or/ I finish it.
Problem, creating these videos takes a loooooot of time. And I have to deal with a full-time CGI artist job and 2 young kids.
So I opened a Patreon page that could allow me to dedicate days on my work time to continue creating video.
I'm not trying to get rich, but like everyone else, I cant spend 1 day/week working for free! I hope you understand.
If the project interests you: Here is my Patreon page.
# IN DETAIL ?
Obviously, Colorful is a direct legacy of my previous video set "Nostalgia". But improved on all aspects:
fullHD video (1920x1080px) H264 @60 fps H264 duration : 1min05
# A PREVIEW ?
# OK, HOW TO DOWNLOAD ?
Right here, with the download button at the top right Place video file in the LaunchBox folder under /Videos/Startup/
# SPECIAL THANKS :
@Jason Carr for his hard work on LaunchBox/BigBox! @faeran for his hard work on Colorful Theme !! To all Patreon guys! A GIANT THANKS to all of you!!! ? The whote community for yout support! # SOURCES - COPYRIGHT :

By KrypticI wanted to see if I could create a startup video in the same style as the Nintendo GameCube intro and here's what I came up with. It's 60 seconds long, but the main animation is only around 6 seconds, which makes the rest of the animation a loading screen.
I also made another version of this startup with a remixed GameCube intro song so depending on your preference you might want this one or the remixed one. I don't want to spam the forum with essentially the same video so I included the link to the second version of this startup in the description box of this video if you want to see it.
Edit: Added a 4:3 aspect ratio version.
By tycho1974I just spent about two weeks adding my old DOS games to my BigBox build, including creating individual dosbox.conf files for each game, keybinding changes for modern gamepad support, and Roland MT-32 emulation for all my favorites (Sierra adventure games represent!) and I figured I'd make a special startup video that focuses on DOS games. Enjoy!
Runtime: 30 seconds
Music: Extreme - Play with Me
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to watch The Goonies again...
BigBox 3D Clean Logo Startup Video. Once Downloaded, rename file to startup.mp4. Place file in the root of your LaunchBox\Videos directory. Go into Bigbox options, select General, tick "Show Startup Splash Screen". For this video, select "Minimum Startup Video Duration: 15 Seconds. You may have to adjust the time to your liking.
EDIT: Had to adjust to 15 seconds for this 18 second video to make the end of the video seamlessly launch with BigBox.
1080p - Encoded Bitrate 16 Mbps - Duration 18 Seconds

By topderobI made a synthwave style old intro for you to use as startup video
Free to use. ohw..
a thank you would be nice
Music: Wice - Star Fighter
By tycho1974Yeah, I'm addicted to making these startup videos. This one's got a focus on arcade games and an 80s style logo stinger (version B).
Update: An alternate version of this intro, with the MAME logo subsituted for the BigBox logo, is located here.
Runtime: 30 seconds
Music: Dance with the Dead - "Screams & Whispers"
I hope you like it! And if you feel the inclination, let me know if you prefer version A or B (the only difference is the logo stinger at the end).
By tycho1974Spent the last week setting up my LaunchBox, then purchased a lifetime license for BigBox, then spent a couple of days making this intro. Hope you like it!
Runtime: 30 seconds
Music: "Smoke" by Donbor
By tycho1974I just felt like making another DOS-centric startup video, but I got a little fancy with it.
Runtime: 64 seconds
Music: Scandroid - The Force Theme (Star Wars Cover)
If you like it, let me know! If you hate it, let me know!
By riniMade this simple startup video for you guys, i hope you enjoy!
Song is Ephixa - Losing You (feat. Laura Brehm) [ https://www.monstercat.com/release/MCS527 ]
By JaysArcadeTwo files included. One with sound and one without. Copy the one you want to the Launchbox videos folder and rename it to startup.mp4. Of course, you'll want to backup any existing startup videos first. Enjoy. Let me know if you find it useful. I also have a vid that says Arcade instead of BigBox if anyone is interested.
Here is a demo.
By harryoketook an absolute eternity to render but was worth it in the end.
By StockportI Took some of the best parts from other custom videos, and added a few extra clips, as well as some fading effects and added sound track.
this is the first time i have done any video work so please go easy on me
Full credits go to whoever made a lot of these clips originally,
By jaceroniA whirlwind of particles fuse together to reveal the BigBox logo on top of a deep blue background.

By harryokeThis will be my final video for a while as i have family & health issues to resolve. Hope you enjoyed my work , Hope to return soon.
Stay safe everyone.
By Wanderer189I made a startup video for my setups, thought I would share. It is 4K (HEVC) but works fine with 720 and 1080 setups
One is just 15 seconds long and the second one is 30 seconds long for older, slower systems.
After a few seconds of video it also says "I am starting your gaming system now, one moment please"
Watch 15 Second Version (youtube)
By ScottadA Startup video inspired by the TV show Stranger Things
To use this video rename the file to startup.mp4 and place in your videos folder. You may need to change the minimum startup video duration in Options > General (18 seconds works well for me but could be slightly different on your system)
