	It looks like Launchbox doesn't recognize PSP games in the CHD format OR it's not downloading the images from the database. 	As the title says- Launchbox (<u>but not Bigbox</u>) is almost entirely freezing after a short amount of scrolling through games in at least a couple platform categories. If I click a different category, Launchbox will stay frozen for about another minute before switching to it, and then everything suddenly runs normally unless I go back the the problem category and scroll again. I'm assuming something got corrupted within these categories, but I don't know what to look for.<br />
	Things I've tried while attempting to troubleshoot:
</p>

<ul>
	<li>
		Deleting my current theme, installing and using "Airy"
	</li>
	<li>
		Reinstalling overtop of my current installation
	</li>
	<li>
		Tools &gt; Download &gt; Update Metadata for All Games
	</li>
	<li>
		Removing all music, manuals, videos, and images from my entire library, then downloaded only Box Front images
	</li>
	<li>
		Deleting all music and manual file paths from game metadata from the problematic categories
	</li>
	<li>
		Removed all custom sort titles from my entire library
	</li>
	<li>
		Checking the log file to see what Launchbox is doing while it is freezing up. (It's possible there's something helpful there, but I'm not seeing anything suspicious)
	</li>
	<li>
		Switching between WMP and FFmpeg video playback. Yes, I removed all media, but the log suggested that Launchbox was still looking for media to play, so I tried this just in case.
	</li>
	<li>
		Batch-converted all of the Box Front images into .jpg no larger than 900 x 900
	</li>
	<li>
		Windows Settings &gt; System &gt; Storage &gt; Temporary files &gt; "Remove files"
	</li>
	<li>
		Admin Command Prompt "sfc /SCANNOW" and "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth"
	</li>
	<li>
		Win + R &gt; "msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic"
	</li>
</ul>

<p>
	What should my next steps be? This issue has been going on for months and I don't have a trustworthy data backup to attempt to restore without rolling back a very very long time, so I would like to try other solutions first, if anyone has any ideas other than starting completely fresh?<br />

	Whenever I run this feature, it runs through the metadata part fine, then it does the Clearing image caches. This also works fine (might take a while but it works). The next part, where it searches through EmuMovies for the various platforms, always seems to get stuck on the last one and just sticks there. Mine is the Windows which only has two or three games in it.

	I have let the system run for hours before and it just always sticks there.
</p>

<p>
	I can run other things involving EMUMovies fine like the rom importer and auditing ect. Just always seems to be this where it sticks.

	Any ideas?

	I’ve been experiencing frequent crashes in LaunchBox ever since the FFmpeg update. I’ve been working on building out my setup, but the app has become increasingly unstable — especially since the official 13.24 release. While the recent betas seemed to reduce the frequency of crashes somewhat, the final release has made them more frequent again.
</p>

<p>
	From a user’s perspective, the crashes seem to occur during various normal actions, but I don’t believe they’re necessarily caused by UI interactions themselves. Here are some examples of when the app has crashed (with no visible error message):
</p>

<ol>
	<li>
		<p>
			Editing a game record using the pencil button → Crash
		</p>
	</li>
	<li>
		<p>
			Importing ROMs and clicking <strong>Next</strong> in the wizard → Crash
		</p>
	</li>
	<li>
		<p>
			Selecting an existing game in any platform (UI starts to refresh) → Crash
		</p>
	</li>
	<li>
		<p>
			Editing a game entry, making several changes or adding media, clicking <strong>OK</strong> to close the modal → Crash
		</p>
	</li>
	<li>
		<p>
			Performing a bulk edit on multiple records, making a change, then clicking <strong>No</strong> when asked about further edits → Crash
		</p>
	</li>
</ol>

<p>
	I haven’t been capturing detailed logs or reproduction steps yet, as these have been happening during normal usage rather than intentional testing.
</p>

<p>
	I’m happy to provide additional details, including my PC specs, logs, or to run more structured tests if needed. If this turns out to be an edge case, I’d like to understand why so I can fix it on my side. But if others are seeing similar behavior, I’d be glad to help narrow it down collaboratively.
</p>

<p>
	For context, I’m a Software QA professional with 18 years of experience, so I’m familiar with structured debugging and root cause analysis. I’d be happy to coordinate with the LaunchBox QA team if that would help track down the issue.

	I've exported a bunch of stuff using the Export to Android fuction, so I know it works in general.  Now I'm trying to export my ScummVM games.  It exports all of the images, videos and data files, but none of games at all.  I did notice that the ScummVM games point to a folder in the Launching &gt; Rom File location, whereas everything else points to a specific file.

	There was the odd game for whatever reason would not display any border but after 2/11/2025 its the reverse and almost every game I import has no black borders.

	I've done some research and already know this is a bug due to having the option <strong>"Use all controllers"</strong> enabled. But... I would like to have that option enabled so Big Box can be navigated with any of my cabinet's joysticks... so what's the actual solution to this problem other than disabling that? Is this a confirmed Big Box bug? Does anyone know why this happens? If it is a bug, do we expect it to ever be fixed? Does anyone know any workarounds other than disabling that option? Just looking for some additional insight or suggestions.
</p>

	The issue is that Big Box seems to randomly and inconsistently trigger anything that the joystick controls are configured to do.
</p>

<p>
	For reference I'm using Big Box (LaunchBox version 13.12) on a custom cabinet running Windows 10 with four UltrStik 360 joysticks plugged in via USB. Also have a Mayflash GameCube adapter and occasionally some bluetooth Xbox controllers enabled. I'm using devreorder to force each device to load in a specified order so everything works nicely with RetroArch. Steam is installed but not running. Attract mode is disabled. All joysticks are aligned and in a dead zone. The problem occurs only in Big Box and only when <strong>Options</strong> &gt; <strong>Controller</strong> &gt; <strong>"Use all Controllers"</strong> is enabled.

	I know this is BigBox and not Ultimarc, but I've found that whenever I have either (or both) of my Ultimarc 360 joysticks connected up, I get random Up/Down/Left/Right navigation in BigBox.

<p>
	And it happens with either controller, even though I only have one of them selected in Options -&gt; Controllers and I do not have "Use All Controllers" selected.
</p>

<p>
	If I have the whole controller box disconnected, the random navigation does not happen, but it happens as soon as I have either one of them connected.  (Note that I can have my IPAC connected, and the random navigation only happens if I also have one of the Ultimarc 360s connected.
</p>

<p>
	Any ideas?

	If I go to Options -&gt; Controller Mappings in BigBox and select an action to set (e.g. "Navigate Up", a window pops up that says "Awaiting Controller Input..."

	The problem is that it doesn't accept any controller input, so when I eventually hit back (ESC), the action is cleared.
</p>

<p>
	How do I fix this and get it to accept a controller input?
</p>

<p>
	I know that BigBox sees the controller (joystick) because "Navigate Down" is set to "D-Pad Down, Left Stick Down" and it does the navigation when the joystick is pressed down.  But now, "Navigate Up" shows as "{None}".
</p>

<p>
	Also, why does it use "Left Stick Up" when the controller is actually labeled "Ultimarc Ultra-Stick Player 1"?  
</p>

	If this has been answered already, apologies I just cannot seem to find the topic. My MAME has consolidated the game to the middle of the screen taking up about 40% while the bezels/bars take up 60%. Keeping the game undistorted is key but how do I increase the game to be say 70% and the bezels/bars 30% etc...I hav tried everything, it either gets overstretched or parts of the fame get lost behind the bezels etc. Thank you the help.

	I'm running Launbox 13.26 on a Win 11 System. Hardware is MSI Claw Model A1M. 
</p>

<p>
	I set up the system with 13.25 I think and a few month ago and I was able to set up most of the stuff until I run into an issue with MegaBezel shader's pack. I checked on my main pc if I made faults but there it worked.
</p>

<p>
	This led me to trying to update shaders in Retroarch with the result of "unable to extract shaders.zip" error, or same error for any online updater stuff from RA.
</p>

<p>
	So I checked for permission issues, but even that seemed to be ok. Always installed LB in c:/launchbox.
</p>

<p>
	Reinstalling Retroarch into a new directroy also didn't help.  In that case c:/launchbox2.
</p>

<p>
	 
</p>

<p>
	Last resort, clean new Win 11 install. Said and done new OS installed and everything else up to date and set up. Installed LB again -&gt; New Problem cannot download Retroarch.......
</p>

<p>
	Next idea install RA from homepage worked, and I got it running. And hell yeah even online updater services worked. 
</p>

<p>
	Buuuut Launchbox won't recognize the manual installation and also won't start associated games.
</p>

<p>
	 
</p>

<p>
	Kind of desperate right now because never experienced any of such behaviour on any of my other systems. (Which mostly had been Win 10 x64 systems)
</p>

<p>
	So not quite sure what to test next...
</p>

	The problem happens only when launching NES games using retroarch via LaunchBox.
</p>

	With all other consoles when i double click a game it opens up retroarch full screen and ready to play.
</p>

	With NES games when i double click a game, LaunchBox stays the top window and retroarch's launches the game and stays behind LaunchBox. so i then have to click with my mouse on the retroarch icon on my taskbar to bring the game window forward and start playing,

<p>
	OR if i minimize the LaunchBox window after double clicking a game it will be full screen and ready to play (its like the game is launching behind LaunchBox)

	This month I purchased an handeld (MSI Claw 8 ai+), Windows 11 OS installed with 25H2 update. I tried importing LB folder from my W10 PC, launcher got stuck at the “loading game database” banner; then i made a clean install, It started but after adding just a single game got the same result. I finally managed to pass the issue with the exe in “Windows 8 compatibility mode”, but It got other problems. All the games (roms starting with emulators) are visibile, but the Play button in LB ang BB make the launcher crash; instead if I right click and select the “open with” option, press the emulator listed for the game, It starts fine even recognizing my added scripts.<br />
	I have one emulator only for every platform, all set as default, path of the roms are right; having this Launcher for years I generally know where to look when issues occur. I stiil think the obstacle Is Windows 11, since even a clean installation got stuck after adding a folder platform or a single rom.

	I've had this issue for a while where Launchbox tries to open and then closes. I try to open it, and I see it under processes in my Task Manager for a few seconds which then says "Suspended" before closing. Big Box still opens fine, but I don't know how to fix this problem with Launchbox. I assume this happened from a recent update and I trying reinstalling the latest update over my Launchbox location which unfortunately didn't work.

	I've been trying to use Shader Glass with Launchbox but my results have not been what I want.  There are no tutorials on how to correctly set this up on YouTube or here in the forums.  My goal has been for Shader Glass to open and apply itself full screen to each of the games I want automatically when I choose a game in Launchbox.  I have tried using the Additional Apps option when editing a game, but that only opens the program and then when the game boots, Shader Glass is nowhere to be seen.  I know that it is working though because I initially see a Shader applied to the Launchbox game boot up splash screen, but a few seconds later, when the actual game boots, the Shader effect and all of Shader Glass disappears.  I tried reversing this also, by putting Shader Glass as the game and then putting the game as the Additional App, but this only results in a black screen with just the game's music playing.  Obviously I can get this to work just fine without Launchbox, but I don't want to have to manually do that each time.

	I'm encountering an issue in Windows 11 using a Dualshock 4 controller via bluetooth (have not tested wired). When opening Big Box, the controller works correctly to navigate initially. However, if the controller has been used by another application Big Box no longer appears to receive any input from it. I can no longer navigate with it, and cannot map the inputs.
</p>

<p>
	Disconnecting and reconnecting the controller resolves the issue, but only until the controller is used in another application. The order does not matter, i.e. if I connect a controller, launch a game in Dolphin, close Dolphin, and open Big Box, the controller does not work; if I connect a controller, open Big Box (controller works), launch a Steam game via Big Box, then close it and return to Big Box, the controller does not work. This issue does not impact any other applications, I can switch between RetroArch, PCSX2, Dolphin, and Steam and they all recognize and use the controller successfully. I haven't noticed any changes in the device description in the device list.
</p>

<p>
	Also, to address some basic things I've already tried:
</p>

<ul>
	<li>
		Using a different gamepad: I had access to an old 3rd party USB Xbox360 controller, and it did not experience this issue. However, it's not practical for me to by a full set of new gamepads and configure them for all my other applications (assuming they'd even work)
	</li>
	<li>
		Using another of the same gamepad: This has the exact same issues. Including the same behavior of working until another application uses it. So if the first gamepad stops working, I can connect a second one and use it to launch one game, at which point it will also stop working in Big Box.
	</li>
	<li>
		Toggling controller related settings inside Big Box: I've toggled all three settings (use controllers, use all controllers, problematic controllers) to all of their various options, both before and after the issue arises, with and without restarting Big Box, as well as having two controllers in the non-working state and switching between them as the selected controller (all controllers: off). None of this helps
	</li>
	<li>
		DS4Windows: unfortunately not a good option for me since it breaks controller input for all of my RetroArch cores. RetroArch has an open issue on GitHub about it (#14063), but it doesn't look like it's moving much, although maybe I'll take a swing at it.
	</li>
</ul>

<p>
	After writing all of this, I worry that this should have been a bug ticket rather than a troubleshooting request, but if anyone has ideas I'm happy to give them a shot.

	I'm having an issue where any PS1 game opened in Duckstation through Launchbox gives me the following error - "Cheevos Error: Get Patches Failed: Empty Response"
</p>

<p>
	If I run the same game standalone in Duckstation it loads achievements with no issues.
</p>

<ul>
	<li>
		I have disconnected and reconnected the Retroachievements login in both Duckstation and Launchbox settings. Generating new tokens each time. Username/Password is correct. It shows a successful login. 
	</li>
	<li>
		If I disconnect Launchbox from Retroachievements I still get the same issue.
	</li>
	<li>
		I'm running the latest Launchbox and Duckstation.
	</li>
	<li>
		Launchbox has no issues with any other emulator.
	</li>
</ul>

<p>
	Please could someone help on what else could be causing this?
</p>

<p>
	I'm hoping this is something really simple, I'm happy to look stupid here.

	When I try scraping the above game from the PC it scrapes Resident Evil 4 (2005) which is the wrong one.  When I try editing it, it doesn't give me any other options other than Resident Evil 4 (2005).  I've tried deleing the game a re-scraping it but it does the same thing.  Anyone have any idea on how to resolve?

	Hello folks, I am running bigbox on my arcade cabinet pc, the machine is nothing fancy but I believe should be able to handle bigbox reasonably, the said machine has an intel i5-7400, 16gigs of ram, and everything runs of an ssd. the gpu is an rx550. I run only mame, visual pinball and some model 2/super model games.

	I recorded a video of the slow start time and the overall experience in the menus, is the startup time expected?

	BigBox is running all of the time on my Windows 11-based arcade cabinet.  I put it to sleep instead of powering it all the way off.  However, when Wndows resumes from sleep, BigBox no longer shows any thumbnails, logos, or plays previews videos in the UI (see attached screenshot).

	I obtained the MAME 0.285 ROMs (merged) , copied it in separate folder from the one being tracked by bittorrent, and tried to import it via Launchbox v13.26 (on windows 10). After maybe 10 seconds of parsing, I'm getting this error:

	I tried to go into the MAME downloaded by Launchbox (which I confirmed is indeed v0.285 by runing mame.exe -version), and generated the catalog with mame.exe -listxml &gt; list.xml

	When I go to line 4292731, I see this, which doesn't seem invalid to me:<br />

	In every youtube tutorial I found on this topic, the presenter doesn't go into details about this step. It's just a simply one-click, no trouble step with no mention of what could go wrong.

	I may have missed, but didn't find any topic on this forum with that issue.
</p>

<p>
	So I am rather confused as to what's going on. Anyone can help me? Launchbox looks like a really cool app, and it's a shame it immediately fails like this with a pretty cryptic error message and no hint as to how to fix it.

	Sorry if this has been asked before, I performed a couple of searches and didn't see anything.  So, here's what I am trying to do.  For the PS1 games there are some that have "greatest hits" boxes but I would rather have the non "greatest hits" displayed and yet I want to keep a copy of the GH box for posterity.  The thing is, since both boxes fall under the "3D Boxes" category, when LB loads, it sometimes shows me the GH box instead of the normal.  What I want to do is create an image category called something like "3D Boxes - GH" that I can label it as and then put that image category as a lower priority under the "3D Boxes" section so it will load the non GH box first.  I've tried renaming the files so that the box I'd prefer is -01 and the GH box is -02 but it still just randomly loads one or the other.  I also know I can just classify the image as something unused by PS1 games like "Arcade - Flyer", and I'll do so if that's the only option, but for organizational reasons (and for the health of my slightly OCD brain), I'd rather be able to do the "3D Boxes - GH" custom image category.

	I updated a portable version of LB on external HDD from 13.25.3 beta to current version, took forever to start after the download. Like 15-20 minutes.
</p>

	After it finished and the HHD light showed no activity, I closed LB, which closed on the screen leaving the "Welcome to Launchbox" prompt open, I checked task manage and here is what I got: Let sit and about another 10-15 minutes it all finally closed. Just reporting

	I have a full MAME rom set up and running. I am looking to import a bunch of rom hacks that only work in Final Burn Neo. When I go to import them none of the roms import! I have tried all sorts of toggling and check marking combinations. Yes, I am aware of marking duplicates and scraping as Arcade. I even tried using MAME metadata. Launchbox pulls only one rom out of 74. The only thing I can get working is manually adding. Doing 74 manual games is going to be a big pain in the ass. Any guidance?
