How do you set up dosbox serial for old vintage dial-up bbs's and terminals?    

 I'm using a serial to usb modem or usb modem.

The attached .txt file is a custom perfectly WORKING config for DosBox for use in LaunchBox.
Either see below for the changes or download, rename to .conf and point your Jetstrike install to this custom .conf.

Changes made:
Machine Type: VGA Only
CPU Core: Simple
CPU Cycles: 10000 (Ten Thousand) <-- this speed appears to play at the same speed the CD32 version runs ❤️
Sound Blaster Type: Sound Blaster Pro 2.0

Game Instructions:
Rotate aircraft: Up/Down arrows
Throttle - Numbers 1-0 (1 for minimum, 0 for maximum)
Auto Throttle: Tab
Shoot: Space
Bombs/Missles: Alt/Ctrl (right side of keyboard) (--depending on your loadout)
Eject: E
Autopilot: A
Undercarriage: U
Fly-by-wire Landing: lower carriage and hold shoot/space to auto-pitch craft for landing
VTOL/Agile Mode: Enter (Harrier & Chopper)

I have the original CD (DOS and CD32 versions) and Instructions if anyone's super interested in scans and such.
The Manual has more information about the weapons and on-screen icons etc, but the above info will get you playing!

I really hope someone finds this info useful to get their game running in LaunchBox.
I'll possibly add more info to this and other games in the future as and when I come across certain problem-ridden titles.

Medium is 1080, Large is 4k, but I have a 1400/2k monitor. More to the point, I'd like to play Pool of Radiance with the Goldbox Companion with the upper toolbar but without the side map, which means I'd like a game window that's just a little bit smaller than my monitor resolution.

I'm new to the forum and I apologize if this isn't the correct place to ask this; I did also find an earlier post that suggested the option is available in the alternate launcher, which I did load on my PC, but I couldn't find any resolution options within it.

Am I missing something?

It is possible to set screen resolution in dosbox to 2560x1440 ?

Configuration menu has only options 4K, 1080p and less than 1080p.

difference.  I'm using long integers for the various timing cycles within the games.

Here's a short video of PacMan as it was a few days ago (it's since been enhanced).

My issue comes trying to play a game, while the file name is the correct .Zip file by the time Retroarch loads its doesn't load the correct file. But if I work directly in Retroarch and choose the same game file, it loads fine.

my settings:
Fullscreen=true
Output=openglnb
fullresolution=0x0
aspect=false

I tried all the renders (though some don't do true fullscreen) and scalers (doubt this has anything to do with it) and Desktop vs 0x0 res, all the same. 
Does DB have a true FS vs a Borderless FS?
Any ideas or anyone else having this issue?

I have tried creating  virtual CD-ROM drives for the disk swaps for disk1, disk2, disk3, disk4 but get the message in dosbox :- insert cd #1 in drive d. 

Has anyone managed to get this game working on a tablet and would appreciate some help in setting this up.

However a few days ago, I've had issues with no sound at all from Dosbox. When I start up dosbox, I get this error message:

My question is with how to make a game run fullscreen in launch box using custom application command- line parameters

It requires the version 6.02+ of eXoDOS but the actual verson on www.retro-exo.com is 6.0. So the setup cancels.

Have anyone an idea to solve the problem?

I’ve imported a zipped directory of a dos game as a rom in Launchbox, which  loads through Retroarch using the Dosbox Pure core. However, when starting the game, I get an ‘out of memory’ message. After some research I understand that running ‘loadfix’ before the usual parameter should solve this and this should be put in a .bat file which I think LB should point to instead of the zip file. I’m struggling to figure out what exactly should go in the .bat file. I’ve created a .bat file in the game directory containing "loadfix -32 gamename.zip". Dosbox Pure is launched, reserving 32k of memory, but the game doesn’t load. Can someone help?

I just installed V6 of eXoDOS and love it so far.

Some strange bugs but mostly perfect stuff.

What is really frustrating is that the 3Dfx games are always stretch to fullscreen on my ultrawird and not beeing 4:3 as they should be.

When running without 3Dfx support its 4:3 again all fine.

Some interesting stuff!

I installed DOSBox on a Raspberry Pi (running Raspberry Pi OS) and it works well when I start an interactive shell or ssh but it does not if I try to make it autostart at boot. What I am trying to achieve is:

• Turn on my Raspberry
• After the boot sequence, DOSBox starts and
• Starts Windows 3.11
• After 1 minute, a screensaver come up and this is what I'd like to constantly have running on my display

I installed DOSBox for a user called "admin" so I have a /home/admin/.dosbox folder with the config file and a /home/admin/DOSBox folder with Windows and my screen saver. Everything works fine when I launch it from the interactive shell as "admin" user

I added /usr/bin/dosbox to rc.local and it effectively starts DOSBox after boot, but it does so as "root" and there is no .dosbox folder created in the root user home folder, so I copied it from /home/admin and I still get the same result: my mount c /home/admin/DOSBox and autoexec are not executed; I'm stuck at the Z: prompt

I tried using "runuser -l admin -c /usr/bin/dosbox" in rc.local and I get an error that it tries to open a different shell/tty for admin, so that didn't work either. Well, actually, ps aux | grep dosbox shows it is running as admin but I don't see it on my Raspberry screen. Maybe I need to make it change tty to the one the admin DOSBox is running in, but I don't know how to do this.

I'm not a Linux expert nor a DOSBox expert and the whole purpose of this, is to make a birthday gift for my wife: a sort of picture frame that runs Johnny Castaway screensaver

Would anyone know how I can achieve the above?

Now that we have an better ability to control dos games in Retroarch, we may need to reevaluate how DOS is imported into LB. Currently the standard method tries to do most of the work for us, however now that we can play in RA with just providing a .zip file the playground has shifted. 

Right now what is working for me is:

1. Import DOS games as if they were ROMs

2. Setup Retroarch to be the emulator for the MS-DOS platform

3. Wait for the config files to start rolling in

You can use your eXoDOS collection in this (obviously). test by importing a few games using the above method. No doubt LB will evolve their MS-DOS import in the near future, but as of now I have not seen a better way to import for RA use. Please comment if you have ideas.
