Alright! Beta 2 is out now with a huge game controller overhaul: New Feature: Game controllers have been completely overhauled in both LaunchBox and Big Box! See below. New Feature: Xbox 360 and Xbox One controller guide buttons can now be used anywhere (from the poll) New Feature: Multiple controller bindings can now be used everywhere New Feature: All controller bindings can now be a button combination if desired (and the opposite, controller automation bindings that used to require a button combination can now be mapped to a single button) New Feature: Left stick, right stick, and trigger axes can now be bound to actions, and buttons can now be bound to navigational movement This stuff will need some significant testing. Let me know if anyone runs into any issues. Also, those of you who have PS4 controllers, if you can test them, I would appreciate it, especially support for the "guide" button in the bottom center. My understanding is that this button only works in XInput simulation mode, but I'm finding DS4Windows to be a bit finicky and couldn't get it to work (might be conflicting with my Xbox One controllers).

Keeping with Sony's platforms for now, so moving on to the PS2! I'm going to upload these in reverse order this time, so starting in the Zs. For Final Fantasy themes, I already of most of the games for this platform available from the link below, but I still need to make one for Final Fantasy X and X International. I'm already using a theme made by someone else for X, but I will make a new one to finish out the PS2 themes for this series. I'm not 100% certain I understand your question based on your phrasing. Everything in the C64 Dreams\C64 Dreams folder has to stay where it is ("Games" folder parallel to the "Retroarch" folder etc.) otherwise all the scripts will break. Now, the first folder (which contains Launchbox itself) isn't necessary for anything to work, the games will work on their own without it, and that folder can be named anything or placed anywhere, or if you don't want to use Launchbox at all you can move the C64 dreams subfolder out of it and start the games directly by going into the Games folder, going into one of the individual game folders, and starting the .vbs file. You cannot, however, take the "Games" folder, by itself, and move it somewhere else if that's what you're asking. All of the folders that are next to each other ("Games", "Retroarch", "Utilities", etc.) need to remain next to each other (the name of the folder that contains those folders - "C64 Dreams" - doesn't matter, if you're not using Launchbox). Basically, all the folders in C64 Dreams\C64 Dreams need to stay together otherwise everything will break.

I have an idea as to what is going on with the mapping stuff. It should work perfectly fine with XInput controllers (360, Xbone, PS4), but some DirectInput controllers treat the trigger axis differently, and I think that is causing it to not map properly. I have a controller coming in the mail tomorrow that I can test with.

Yeah, as much as free is the most amazing thing ever, you gotta know when to be ok with supporting projects with monetary contributions. Especially THE best front end ever fucking made. I rest my case.

Everyone has their opinions and there are other options out there, once the android version is up to speed, i dont think any of them will compare with LB. I have no problem paying the additional $5. (I used my google rewards anyway) I know the android version will be supported and constantly developed. Yeah it sucks to have to pay again but how many times a month to we blow $5 on stuff, fast food, coffee, etc. Jason did enable Google Home/family or whatever it is called. So if you have multiple accounts or users in the house, you only need to purchase once. I have an nvidia shield i have a family google account on, no need to buy the app twice.

This is for now, it will be fully stand alone at some point.

I am pretty confident Jason is appreciative of things like this. We do not have a big dev team working on Launchbox. It really is just one great person putting his time and heart into something he loves and we get to benefit from that. $5 is truly a small price to pay to say Thanks.

I disagree entirely. It's also $5... Support your devs. I also purchased a lifetime license and I couldn't click fast enough to pay $5 for the Android version.

I managed to get it working, and it does seem to be working fine with the guide button. I had to reboot to get it working again though. I'm not sure what made it stop working, but I'm guessing it was connecting my Xbox One receiver/controller. Why would you use the controller in Switch mode on PC? For setting the button combination, go slowly like this: Press and hold the first button. Press and release the second button. Release the first button. If you do that out of order, it doesn't always register. Does that fix it when the controller is in XInput mode? What are the reasons to use the other modes?

I have the same controller, let me connect it and have a look.

Just go to options/Game controllers/mapping and press add next to the item you want, then a button on your controller, couldnt be easier.

Nevermind, it was an image cache issue, and I found where to reset that!

Please don't link to games unless they are official freeware, "abandonware" is not a real thing.

    Version 1.5.1

WootLauncher provides game load/exit screens, bezels/overlays and a pause menu with built-in PDF viewer for manuals, as well as support for emulator savestates and images of control mappings. I looked into using RL but didn't feel like going through the trouble of setting it up, so I instead ironically went through loads of trouble creating this plugin. It's not meant to do everything RL does (caveat: I've never used RL), but maybe it does enough and you'll find it useful. It's designed to be easy to setup but also quite customizable. It will not support all emulators but should support "enough"; tested with RetroArch, MAME, Dolphin, Demul, and PCSX2 which I think are the more common ones used (anyway what I use). It should work with other emulators, too. In addition to the built-in look-and-feel, WL can be integrated with Bigbox themes for a seamless experience; here it is integrated with FluxCRT: WootLauncher-v1.3.mp4 The PDF bundled with the download describes how to quickly setup and also how to customize ... so I'll not repeat that here. You can also download the PDF guide separately. Please use the support thread if you have any questions or spot bugs. When reporting issues, supply the log file and any relevant screenshots to help troubleshoot. It's worth mentioning this is not compatible with the new built-in game startup screens for LB/BB, and it likely never will be as it uses a different window management strategy. Absolute requirements for using WootLauncher are: 1. LaunchBox / BigBox version >= 9.2 2. Disable built-in LB/BB startup and pause screens (see PDF) 3. Do not try to use both RL and WootLauncher; it will not go well 4. Configure your emulators to run in windowed mode NOTE: If criteria 1 and 2 are not met, the plugin will simply disable itself. ADDITIONAL PLUGINS: This DLL (Ao.Bigbox.Dropins.dll) contains additional plugins besides WootLauncher, but they are inactivated by default. You can activate these other plugins by editing the DLL's config file (Ao.Bigbox.Dropins.dll.config). See the Ao.Bigbox Customs download page for additional details about these other plugins.
