Spectrum is a complete rebuild of my theme Blade Runner. It focuses heavily on full screen 16x9 video backgrounds, animation, fading with 4 platform views, 5 game views and 5 color variants Blue, Green, Orange, Purple and Red. Platform 1 uses a color shifting background that fades elements on the UI and goes completely UI free aside from the BigBox Logo after 40 seconds of idle. Switching to another platform brings the UI back. Platform 2 uses the same elements but focuses on using Platform videos such as vikings color themes. Both of these can be changed in the video folder under background.mp4 and platforms folder. Platform 2 and 4 mirror their 1 and 3 views but do not fade any UI elements for those who want to always see the platform images. Games 1 view uses full screen video or stretched if 4:3 to output 16:9 and overlayed scanlines with animation and UI fading with slightly different timings than the platform views. Games 2 view uses the same techniques as view 1 but keeps the original aspect ratio of the gameplay videos. Games 3 and 4 are mirrored views of 1 and 2 with no scanline overlay. The text view offers no fading and outputs video as stretched with scanlines. An optional folder is included to change the images of the button layouts from an XBOX controller to a PS4. These are located inside the Optional Button Layouts folder. Pick your option and inside is an Images folder, drag and drop these in the root of the theme(s).

Here is a very little utility i made to work on a database file (mame dat's and emulationstation gamelist.xml as of now). This allow you to remove clones, filter neogeo/cps... games etc. and either export the resulting database file to be used in clrmamepro, or copy the filtered rom's from a source folder to a destination folder. Here is a (crappy) video i made to show how to make a neogeo database with clones removed, from latest mame database: https://www.loom.com/share/201bb24881134311b63898561ded1e4c Source code: https://github.com/Cpasjuste/retrofilter

I don't remember exactly where the source I got the images from, but I know it was an Outerspace forum user who gave me a mockup and I just edited it, Thanks Diego Peixoto! I'm sharing with you so you can edit your own covers as I do with releases. Basically are two models of covers 2D and two 3D If someone finds the sources of the images, I will give credit without problems, after all just got something ready and edited simply.

This is a theme meant to really lean hard on nostalgia. It's inspired by "New Retro Arcade Neon" and uses some of it's assets. As of right now, it consists of 1 view, and the goal is to add more platforms if there is demand for it. The platform images are "banner" images, so using a different view with this will look a little funky. For a little extra immersion, I have Andy Hofle's "Arcade Ambience" mp3 as the background music. Those mp3's can be found here. - http://arcade.hofle.com/ Thanks and I hope you enjoy it! NRBB_Platform_Wheel-TEMPLATE.psd

I can explain some of this, at least. I still don't know why some people are seeing duplicate bindings after upgrading, though. @BigWaveDave If you can zip up and PM me your data folder, I might be able to get that figured out. But InputBindings.xml basically replaces the previous controller mapping options. The BigBoxSettings.xml controller settings are no longer used (they're only used to create a new InputBindings.xml file if it doesn't exist).

Not the strangest thing we have seen. I think I remember quite a bit back a user had an issue with his speakers messing up Launchbox. Glad you have at least identified what is causing the issue.

Using a USB 3.1 Hub and have everything plugged into that. Everything is perfect now. 3.1 has more power available which I think helps.

NBA Jam Tournament Edition-01.zip Okay, so here is an image that comes up blackish-grey in LaunchBox & BigBox that came straight from the Database. Not sure why it does that, and I'm not sure why it even got accepted to the Database when it's clearly an image for the newer NBA Jam games instead of the one from the 90s on Game Gear and other Platforms. I'm sure I'm not the only one who tends to get a little annoyed when Background art has nothing to do with the actual title or has the game's logo already placed into it. I'm working hard to try when I can to give the Database some Backgrounds that actually are part of the actual title and not of the sequels or prequels. I'm sure most agree Background art with logos already in them tend to clash with the Clear Logo which results in a not so clean look and feel.

Just wanted to announce here that we have filled the position. Details forthcoming. We're currently waiting on the new hire to put in his 2-weeks notice.

A quick message: I dont post a lot right now, sorry. I have a lot of work for the next 3 weeks. But I dont forget Colorful! In parallel, I work hard on category video and with @eatkinola on the theme!! I'll be back soon with new content! 🥰 For waiting, some screen of future category video. Mainly complete 4K remake of Nostalgia version. But for "arcade" and "playlist", I will realize them in full CGI. Which requires more time, necessarily.

Having read this thread, I became curious and did a bit of digging: https://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/33647-secular-version-of-launchbox/ https://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/43425-proposal-for-removing-bible-verses-from-launchbox/ Clearly this has come up before for some reason and it's surprising how many people come out and say "This shouldn't be an issue, you have a problem" in quite an aggressive way - and it's ironic, when many of these people are also supposedly preaching tolerance. You not seeing a problem does not mean that no-one else can, does or should see one. Somehow these people can understand that Jason is passionate enough about this to place religious texts in software whose function has no inherent or explicit religious connection or purpose itself - and yet they cannot understand how its users could be equally passionate about the same subject enough to take objection. You may claim that people have a choice and if they don't like it, they don't have to use it. Yet how would you feel if you noticed that your grocery receipts had quotes from the Quran printed on them? I think there's a pretty good chance you'd think this strange if not inappropriate. Even if you could get your money back on that purchase, you weren't warned beforehand that you could only accept these goods if you also accept the religious message that came with it. That is not fair and it is not choice. At least Bibles have their titles printed clearly on the cover. It seems strange to me that God would want his followers to spread his word through messages inserted into emulation programs but there you go. There are quotes on the mailouts too. If that same god didn't make us all believing in him from the start though then why would he want those followers to force his message into software against their will? Upsetting people and restating people's rights to say whatever they want just because they can seems counterintuitive and very intolerant in itself. (Sadly this will probably be another thread that gets locked with people being told to take it privately despite the subject being around a very public display of religious belief)
