This is my first BigBox theme made entirely with @y2guru's fantastic, Community theme creator. I called it Memories of Yesterday (I suck with cool theme names). Many Thanks to @viking, for the Silver Ring Clear Logo set. @Mr.RetroLust (I cant seem to tag you for some reason) for the Marquee Screen Filler Magic, that I used on my arcade cabinet view. @nosh for the device images that I borrowed from the "Nosh on this Twice" Theme and Everyone else on the forums for all the code snippets, that helped me make this theme.! The theme is for 1920x1080 resolutions. If you have any issues, I would love to hear about them. Cheers! Edit: Added video.

Massive thanks goes to @y2guru for the COMMUNITY Theme Creator for BigBox. Also thanks to @Grila for some of the code snippets I've used. _____________________________ INTRODUCTION I know there's been arcade machine based themes before, The reason I wanted to make this one was firstly to try out some of the new features that were added to the theme editor, and secondly I've always wanted to see the side of the cabinet with the artwork. There is a known issue with the theme and for that reason it's best used at 16:9 aspect ratio. _____________________________ INSTALLATION Download the zip file and unblock it (right click the zip file, goto "Properties" then at the bottom put a tick in the "Unblock" box, hit ok when done) then extract the folder to --\Launchbox\Themes\

The Community Theme Creator for BigBox is still in development and should be treated as an Alpha build, however it has enough features in place that would allow you to start building your own Themes. (Please see Pyramids by @Rincewind) As I have no documentation at this point, please visit my YouTube Channel as I demonstrate some of the various features. http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCALHDoR8oQifl6sbIrdrW6w Installation 1. Download .zip file 2. Unblock (right click on the .zip file, select properties and click on Unblock) 3. Unzip where ever you like 4. Go to the unzipped folder and go to folder ".Install these fonts first to allow the demo theme to load correctly in the editor" 5. Install the 2 fonts (these are only needed for the included Theme) 6. Click on the "COMMUNITY Theme Creator for BigBox.exe" 7. Fill out the setup properties (userid / name and location of the BigBox.exe ) 8. Enjoy! FYI. If you wish to design a Theme in either 4:3 or 16:9 or any other aspect ratio then simply change your windows desktop settings to the desired resolution and open the editor.

New Version 1.3 Added a visual playtime setter/editor New Version 1.2 Fixed another string error that would sometimes cause the playtime to not record. Thanks @TheNewClassics. Everything should work now but please don't hesitate to let me know if any other problems arise. New Version 1.1 Please update to the new version. I caught a string error that would prevent any playtime from going over 23 hours. The new version will keep all your game's previous playtime intact. Also, you can now reset a game's playtime in LB from the selected games right click menu (@Krakerman). Drop the .dll in your LaunchBox\Plugins directory and start tracking how long you play your games. The playtime is recorded as a custom field so it is visible in LaunchBox on the game details bar and in BigBox in the game details. See the screenshots for reference. Known Issues: Per the plugin API (http://pluginapi.launchbox-app.com/html/a40a286d-83c6-e179-940c-7e4166d567fe.htm) this may not function correctly with all platforms (ie. Steam) but I have tested it with RetroArch, Dolphin, and PCSX2 without problems.

I'll put the bezel i've made on here as well in case anyone needs it, it's not 100% accurate but it's something for this obscure system.

To be honest, the PC game videos at emumovies are really old. You better off recording your own with something like Fraps. The free version only records 30 seconds but that's all you need. Emumovies are only 30 seconds long anyway.

Nice! Glad that you like the idea. Like you said, it is kind of a limited usage thing (although, obviously, the arcade category is gigantic), but it looks great for the games that make use of it.

Thank you. Yes I did think about having the marquee change as well but I don't think there are marquee images for a lot of console and computer platforms, but I think your right I should have it set to use them in the arcade platform, so I'll do that in the next update.

This works perfectly. Thank you so much! You just have to avoid pressing escape when the ui is active, because that will bring up the mame system GUI and I don't know how to retrun to the game once I see that. Now I just need to know the command line for a custom retroarch config so I can use the latest mame core with apple2.

Its not possible to launch it on a second screen as far as i know. You can however use the Pause menu to open the manual and navigate it with a controller or keyboard while in game. Desktop 2019.11.17 - 13.57.36.01.mp4

Really nice! I particularly like how the arcade cabinet uses the box art for a skin. Makes every cabinet look legitimate! I've seen something similar in the theme CoinOP, which is the marquee changing using the arcade marquee image (not sure if you're looking for suggestions/ideas, but it was something that came to mind).

Awesome work. Regarding the shader files, It has been a while that I wanted to ask about it. I am not an expert but, based on the file, it seems that you don't distort (or tilt) the screen to create the effect of a CRT monitor curvature, right? Any advice regarding distortions? I think for arcades I use some shader call CRT (CRT-Royale, maybe).

1945k III, a bit of a boring bezel but I couldn't find any instruction stickers or anything, but it's a bezel, every Mame game should need one. 1945kiii.zip

Beta 4 is out now with the following: Improvement: LaunchBox and Big Box now use improved processes for media downloads (threaded downloads). This should signficantly speed up downloads from the LaunchBox Games Database, especially. Improvement: In Big Box you can now individually hide view types while locked instead of all or none New "Games Missing Media" filters now have items for videos and manuals as well Fixed: "Scan for Removed ROMs" now removes additional apps that are missing as well Planning for this to be the last beta release with new stuff before the official release, which hopefully will go out early next week. Any testing you can do would be appreciated.

This is a good point. I kind of wish we could just remove adult games from the database completely, but I know that's probably too much to ask. I agree that we should at least have a flag of some kind. On my list. It's worth noting, however, that images like that are not allowed in the database, and should never have been approved.

Note: using these requires LaunchBox 9.10 beta 1, or above. The files in the attached archive are the start of my effort to create 'default' images for most of my installed platforms. Copy the archive to your <launchbox install directory>\Images\Platforms directory and extract there. Start Launchbox, select your matching platform names, then refresh all images. Any missing media in your same image categories as mine should now show up (you may have to rename some of the extracted directories if they don't match the platform names in LaunchBox). I modeled most of these on graphic types from EmuMovie assets. Please feel free to make requests, or post your own default images. The archive has files for the following platforms: 3D Nintendo Entertainment System Acorn BBC Micro Acorn Electron Amstrad CPC Amstrad GX4000 Apogee BK-01 Arcade Atari 800 Atari 2600 Atari 5200 Atari 7800 Atari 7800 Homebrew Atari Jaguar Atari Jaguar CD Atari Lynx Atari ST Bally Astrocade Bandai Sufami Turbo Bandai Super Vision 8000 Camputers Lynx ColecoVision Commodore 64 Commodore 128 Commodore Amiga Commodore Amiga CD32 Commodore CDTV Commodore MAX Machine Commodore Pet Commodore Plus 4 Commodore VIC-20 Dendy Dragon 32 Dragon 64 Emerson Arcadia 2001 Entex Adventure Vision Epoch Super Cassette Vision Fairchild Channel F GCE Vectrex Magnavox Odyssey 2 Mattel Intellivision Microsoft MSX Microsoft MSX2 Microsoft XBOX Microsoft XBOX 360 MUGEN NEC PC-8801 NEC PC-9801 NEC PC-FX NEC PC Engine NEC SuperGrafx NEC TurboGrafx-16 NEC TurboGrafx-CD Nintendo 3DS Nintendo 64 Nintendo 64 (Japan) Nintendo 64DD Nintendo DS Nintendo Entertainment System Nintendo Famicom Nintendo Game Boy Nintendo Game Boy Advance Nintendo Game Boy Color Nintendo GameCube Nintendo MSU-1 Nintendo Satellaview Nintendo Switch Nintendo Virtual Boy Nintendo Wii Nintendo Wii U Nintendo WiiWare Panasonic 3DO Philips CD-I Philips Videopac G7000 Philips Videopac Plus G7400 PopCap RCA Studio II Sega 32X Sega CD Sega CD 32X Sega Dreamcast Sega Game Gear Sega Genesis Sega Master System Sega Mega-CD Sega Mega Drive Sega Saturn Sega SG-1000 Sharp MZ-2500 Sharp X68000 Sinclair ZX-81 Sinclair ZX Spectrum SNK Neo Geo AES SNK Neo Geo CD SNK Neo Geo Pocket Color Sony Playstation Sony Playstation 2 Sony Playstation 3 Sony Playstation Vita Sony PSP Sony PSP Minis SpectraVideo Super Nintendo Entertainment System Super Nintendo Entertainment System (Pal) Tandy TRS-80 Tandy TRS-80 Color Computer Windows WonderSwan WonderSwan Color

I have a suggestion to add a new art folder on lauchbox/bigbox, is the "Inlay Art". Inlay Art is the art they come inside of some Jewel Case Games, some arts are beautiful. Look the Inside Art of the PSX Final Fantasy VIII (USA), the first image is the inlay art left and the second is the inlay art right.

Is ready: Sega Genesis, Mega Drive Brazil, Mega Drive Brazil 2 and Mega Drive Europe. I made two modifications because the AttractMode does not have age rating and game rating, so I traded by game genre and favorites, respectively. I hope you approve of my ideas. 😉

I love the systematic theme for Retroarch, but since I use LaunchBox, I rarely get to see it. So I converted a bunch of it to .ico pack for all of my rom folders. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. I couldn't find a more appropriate area. The icons are multi size, from 16x16 up to 256x256, so they should look good at any size. Not every systematic icon is converted, but pretty much any commonly used platforms should be represented. Enjoy!

If you want a pure fully-customizable database i would suggest to check Filemaker. I use it to keep track of my boardgame collection and it is easy to use with plenty of features (cross linked databases, full record customization, scripting, e.t.c)
