LV-101 is dark, futuristic and responsive theme. Theme uses custom device and playlist images (download the psd templates from here). 108 devices are included in this package. Should work well with 16:10, 16:9, 4:3 and 5:4 ratios. Theme was designed to use box art, gameplay screenshot and gameplay video. If you want to make changes you can download the Community Creator Tool Files. For view transitions I recommend the vertical animation, it just feels right with this theme. Requires a powerful system to run smoothly. Tried it with i5-4570t and performance was horrible. AllNightLong works better on older systems. Theme contains: Platform Wheel 1 Platform Wheel 2 Text Filters View Text Games View Horizontal Wheel 1 Games View Horizontal Wheel 2 Games View So not a lot, but I didn't want to make this theme as huge as my previous theme. Less is more, or so they say. Credits: @y2guru for the COMMUNITY Theme Creator for BigBox @viking for the amazing platform videos. Bulk Custom Command-Line Editor Use this to set (or clear) the Custom Command-Line Parameter for the selected games. The would be the same as selecting a game, click Edit, go to the Emulation tab and check "Use Custom Command-Line Parameters:" and entering in a command line. But for multiple games all at once. This will not change anything for the Emulator itself (i.e. Edit Emulator). This is only for the selected games' Custom Command-Line. Setting up: 1) Copy "BulkEditCommandLine.dll" into your LaunchBox\Plugin folder. 2) Navigate to the folder, right click the dll file, click Properties then click Unblock.Using: 3) Start LaunchBox 4) Select a game (or games), right click and choose "Bulk Command Line Editor" - Type in the command line and click "Finish" (or hit Enter) - To clear the Command-Line for the selected game(s), leave blank and click "Finish" - To exit without making changes, click "Cancel"

Anybody know where these SNES EU Cartridges come from? i don't see them in the Emu Movies or Hyperspin download sections, but they must be coming from somewhere. I've seen a few of them in the DB uploaded, but not enough to really feel like a consistent "set". As i don't have the full set i'll just leave these untouched for now (as cart - front, not changing it to fanart yet either) they do look real enough, had me fooled the first few pages, but they all look the same and clearly come from a template that somebody made... and i have to say i don't LOVE how they look, the top right not showing the grooves just weirds me out a bit, other than that they are nice and high res and certainly better than the fallback options i got. I have 2 other sets of EU carts, one is tiny pictures (i'm sure everybody hates those) that i'd rather not use at all but it is better than nothing and if you just look at it as front end icon you can even just about get away with it without noticing (if you use them for any kind of loading screen where they are displayed bigger, it would be noticeably getting blurry). in fact those are two different sets, one is 301x210 the other 275x192 but i think the 301x210 one just used the smaller ones and scaled them up a bit, either way both are TINY and you don't notice a visual difference once they are in the frontend... no idea why anyone would go through the trouble of making a set like this and then make it at such a tiny resolution where you can't even read the text on closer inspection the other EU set that i very much prefer looks like this (and looks the same as the JAP carts i got), only problem is i think they only made these for games that have no US cart at all, so it is "incomplete" if you do not use US as your primary version in LaunchBox. JAP region is generally far more incomplete (and naming is a bitch, i don't speak the language, why can't we just all stick with the No-Intro naming on these for consistency? *sigh*) but anyway i add these where i can: there are also the tiny carts available, same as EU for JAP that i use as fallback option here and there AND there is an even worse fallback option for Jap carts, that i only use as a "last resort". Those look very much "painted" and are kinda low res too. Still better than nothing. Oh and US carts i replace with these higher res versions a lot. I am also tagging these reconstructed carts as "Fanart"... i've seen some people in the past weeks REPLACE what is clearly fanart in the DB with photgraphs (not cut, no transparent BG, sometimes just plain bad ugly pictures i wouldn't want to have in my Frontend to begin with but the motto seems to be higher resolution = better by default with some people, so i'm hoping by tagging these as fanart they won't be replaced with photos from ebay in the future), they should be treated as entirely different categories if you ask me, so that is what i'm doing (and the moderators generally accept when i change it to fanart so i think i'm on the right track with that and i did that for a few other systems i updated previously (GameBoy Color for example) as well and nobody complained there either, i just wanted to say it out loud so maybe other users will start doing it that way too but it is clear that new users would always upload this stuff as cart front and not think twice about it being reconstructed fanart, some very few of which even has actual fanart as sticker that doesn't match the real thing). I'd prefer the term "reconstructed" (or "reconstructed - clear") like there is with Box Front Reconstructed but that is not an option in the DB so i'm sticking with "Fanart" (i mean i'd just rename the category, no need to add another one only to re-tag the entire LBDB, that'd be dumb). Updating 3D Boxes with what is currently available. US has recently received a nice authentic set (but i'm leaving the already existing 3D boxes intact, nothing wrong with them, i'm not replacing them as some people may prefer the old set's cleaner digital look, if you guys decide to kick the old ones out, that is on you, but i'm also not uploading the missing ones of those ...what i DO delete are these old weirdly angled ones, i'm sure you know which ones i mean, everybody hates those, right?). for EU there is a set that looks like this that i rarely see being uploaded, so i'm uploading these (note the spine is generic, not authentic but since there is only text and the nintendo seal on the left side for EU boxes i don't see a big problem with that); the authentic set from before also covers some EU exclusive games, again not every game so this may be a bit inconsistent, you may see me uploading both variants where available (so you can chose yourself what to keep after scraping). for the jap region Super Famicom boxes i have 2 sets, that look a little bit different, i upload both of them as there is not one set that is objectively "better" than the other, they both look fine and they both are not really complete sets, one covers games that the other doesn't and so on... so sometimes you will see two 3D Jap boxes for one game of both styles but often only one or the other. (sometimes the spines have different artwork, i can't find an example right now, but i am NOT gonna bother double checking which is more "authentic", somebody put in effort to make these so they are both worth having if you ask me, even if sometimes one is a bit more "fanart" than the other). I just added the US 3D cart set to my Media folder, they are uploaded already it seems, but i've been adding region tags on every page i went through so far and maybe i can plug a few holes if there are any while i'm at it. I know there is a JAP 3D cart set on Emu Movies that you can scrape (good luck with the naming inconsistencies though), but it is not in their download section on the website (or i'm blind) which is weird... (i'm not a huge fan of 3D carts myself, but i guess i can plug some holes there too while i'm at it). //edit: it seems like somebody only went through pages 1+2 to add them and just after writing this he gave up on it at page 3, so i've been adding a ton of these for the last 6 pages now. and for the record: i try to avoid uploading versions that clearly do not even exist, like if there is only one EU cart picture but nothing else EU in my search results or in the LBDB already i check in my LaunchBox if there is even an EU rom and if there is not then i skip that one (same if there was only a EU version release and no US, then i skip the US picture). Some will of course slip through or have already been uploaded by others, i won't bother deleting them. end of edit// Why bother with JAP and EU artwork? Well first i'm from the EU myself (germany), so i want the EU stuff to look good for myself, especially the EU exclusive ones (i still set US as primary and play everything in english). For JAP games i recently started adding fan translated roms (i finally found a way that doesn't require me to patch them one by one, see https://romhackdb.com/ ). In general i think if we want to see more EU and JAP users for LaunchBox, who may not be using US as their primary region, then we should do some ground work in the database so it is not a complete mess when you import an EU or JAP only set... or they do it once and say "this is crap" and look for something else. And without EU and JAP users we won't get EU and JAP database moderators that can fix the errors or add content... chicken and the egg problem / when you build it they will come. (and lets be real, SNES is the one most popular retro system for a ton of people, this has to be as good as possible for the first impression if nothing else). Workflow: i'm going through the database "as is" from page to page, i will not be adding any missing games right now, i'm not keeping a checklist of what i uploaded and what i didn't, so i'm making no guarantees that there aren't some oversights here and there. I downloaded all pictures in a folder and am using the search function to find art for each game from all the sub folders at once, so naming inconsistencies (JAP games!!!) may cause me to miss a few here and there if nothing matches but otherwise i'll never get through all of it. If anybody has some comments / suggestions / artwork i'm missing, now is the time to tell me 😜 And if you want to help making SNES look good, well have at it. (maybe let me know so we are not screwing around in the same corner at the same time). Just moderating so the changes go through fast will help as well of course.

Joe, you are an absolute GENIUS!!!!! I can't thank you enough!!!! Following your excellent advice (and for the benefit of others who are in the same predicament) I went down the AutoHotKey route.... I created two ahk scripts.... "hiddenobjectgamesOpen" and "hiddenobjectgamesClose" This is the code I used... "hiddenobjectgamesOpen" #NoEnv ; Recommended for performance and compatibility with future AutoHotkey releases. ; #Warn ; Enable warnings to assist with detecting common errors. SendMode Input ; Recommended for new scripts due to its superior speed and reliability. SetWorkingDir %A_ScriptDir% ; Ensures a consistent starting directory. #SingleInstance, Force #Persistent $LCtrl:: Send, {LButton} "hiddenobjectgamesClose" fullScriptPath = D:\LaunchBox\Misc Arcade Files\AutoHotKey\JTScripts\hiddenobjectgamesOpen.ahk ; edit with your full script path DetectHiddenWindows, On WinClose, %fullScriptPath% ahk_class AutoHotkey I then set up my Additional Apps (right click the game and choose Edit and then click Additional Apps) to reflect these settings.... The "hiddenobjectgameClose" has "Automatically run after main application" box TICKED The "hiddenobjectgameOpen" has "Automatically run BEFORE main application" box TICKED And that is working a treat.... I'll edit the ahk script to include the Right Click functionality as well (and any other functionality I need whilst in-game) Again Joe... I can't thank you enough for your help. Cheers 🙂

Ah like we would do with custom Fonts also. Just tested one theme and it works perfect. Thanks Jason now time to update the rest of the files with the LAUNCHBOX_ROOT_FOLDER change.
  13. 1 point
The problem with this code is that siteoforigin unfortunately now refers to the LaunchBox\Core folder, so it no longer works properly. However, I believe if you replace "pack://siteoforigin:,,," with "LAUNCHBOX_ROOT_FOLDER", it should work. Any themes that do this will most likely need changed/upgraded for 11.3, but I don't think it's a very common thing for themes to do.

So far with new beta no more issues with theme's and custom images if the folder is located within the theme's older structure. Still have issues if the custom folder resides outside of a theme's folder. You did say some outliers remain, but I just wanted to mention.

Beta 4 is out now, with the goal of fixing as many theme-related issues as possible. For example, the Colorful theme should work properly now, and startup and pause themes should work as well (but there may be some outliers still). There are still things in this thread that need addressed, but please let me know if you run into any theme-specific issues with this beta (and what theme it is as well as the error). Thanks again all!

PlatformDeviceImage = D:\LaunchBox\Images\Platforms Image = Super Nintendo Entertainment System\Device\SNES Controller.png SplashImage,%PlatformDeviceImage%\%Image%,b Sleep, 5000 SplashImage, off Adjust the path/image accordingly. But with a little bit of reading, this would probably suit your needs [and end up looking a lot] better.

What controller encoder is your cab using? (i.e. I-Pac2) The encoder is what has assigned P1B1 to Ctrl. You could create a 2nd config through/for the encoder and then in LB add "Automatically run before main application" load config 2, and then "Automatically run after..." load config 1 .... for the respective games. But that's kind of a pain. Plan B: In the "Running AutoHotkey script" for the emulator, add $LCtrl:: Send, {LButton} Problem is, every game using that emulator will be affected by that. Though you could create a "new emulator", point it to the same exe, but add in the Run Before/Run After. Plan C : Create and save that AHK script and then compile it, and then add that to "Run Automatically Before..." for the games. But off hand don't know how to make that go away after the game exits. It's possible (and probably easy), but would need to look into it. Plan D : Add another button to your cab dedicated to left click. This has been real handy on my cab, but add 3 (if you can) for Left, Middle and Right clicks.

For standalone MAME Software Lists (such as bbcb) add to the command line "-cfg_directory". For example the 'game' "ABC" would look like: mame64.exe bbcb -cfg_directory "d:\emulators\mame\cfg\bbcb\abc" -flop1 abc.zip Your custom controller config files for this game are now saved like so. d:\emulators\mame\cfg\bbcb\abc\bbcb.cfg d:\emulators\mame\cfg\bbcb\abc\default.cfg In LaunchBox, edit the game, go to Emulation, check "Use Custom Command-line Parameters" and fill in this: bbcb -cfg_directory "d:\emulators\mame\cfg\bbcb\abc" -flop1 So it looks like thisNote: "abc" in the command line is the name of the games romfile. So you'll need to do this [custom] for each game. If you decide you like stand alone MAME over RA-MAME, you can quickly add this command line to all games at once using the Bulk Custom Command Line Editor plugin (which can automatically add in the games romfile name in there for you). It can be found in the Downloads section. The command line parameters can also be stacked to do something like: bbcb -cfg_directory "d:\emulators\mame\cfg\bbcb\abc" -autoboot_delay "2" -autoboot_command "*cat\n\n\n\n*exec !boot\n" -flop1 Oh.... and change the path in the above command line(s) so that points to your ../mame/cfg/..... folder. MAME will automatically create the folders (i.e. "bbcb" and "abc") if they don't exist.

Keep up the good work @Z3R0B4NG, really agree on you on many points! Thank you Personally I like high-quality authentic artwork that look really nice using BigBox (texts readable etc.), those new authentic 3D Boxes on the SNES look absolutely fantastic! I also think there's room for both authentic and fanmade reconstructions/artwork as long as we choose when uploading the most logical image type for them and avoid replacing authentic artwork to fanart/reconstructions or vice-versa. That would also save moderation time if there's no need to change image types. Physical (like cartridges, discs etc.) objects are always a challenge and it's sometimes really hard to find a good quality original source. I welcome every effort. Lately I've been mostly adding new games (Japanese games too! PC98/PC88/FM Towns etc. etc. :P) and also making minimal edits on those game additions like cropping and removing background from discs and converting them to PNG. I think I'll take a break now phew.. Don't mind someone else taking over though! One of Launchbox's best features is that there can be something for everyone. For example some like images that fit one size and others like their images with scratches and bruises as long as they're as authentic as possible.

Hi all, I got around to setting up Demul for Naomi games and I was looking for better shader options (mostly for scanlines). After a bit of searching, I found the CRT-Geom MOD project for Demul here: http://www.emuline.org/topic/1420-shader-crt-multifonction-kick-ass-looking-games/ Works great with making Demul look like a CRT, even adds an overlay and bezel too, there are even art packs! Just thought I'll share it with the community.

Hello everyone! I did these overlays with available content in community and internet. I credit everyone for their respective content provided. Thankfully!! They are all generic arcade 1080p overlays. Use for Mame, FinalBurn Neo, Capcom and NeoGeo systems. Contains versions for curved screen, flat screen and HSM shaders, horizontal and vertical variants. I made them to use simultaneously with Retroarch + Launchbox, as it contains their logos. Obviously they can be used for Retroarch alone, of course! INSTRUCTIONS: Unzip the content into the Retroarch overlay folder. SCALING SETTINGS: Curved screen horizontal overlays: Integer Scale: OFF Aspect Ratio: Custom Custom Aspect Ratio (X Position): 350 Custom Aspect Ratio (Y Position): 80 Custom Aspect Ratio (Width): 1220 Custom Aspect Ratio (Height): 920 Shader: Use one which lets you define the curvature for best result (I prefer crt-guest-dr-venom). Curved Screen Vertical Overlay: Integer Scale: OFF Aspect Ratio: Custom Custom Aspect Ratio (X Position): 608 Custom Aspect Ratio (Y Position): 72 Custom Aspect Ratio (Width): 702 Custom Aspect Ratio (Height): 934 Again, use a shader which lets you define the curvature for best result (I recommend crt-guest-dr-venom). Flat screen Horizontal Overlay: Integer Scale: OFF Aspect Ratio: Custom Custom Aspect Ratio (X Position): 316 Custom Aspect Ratio (Y Position): 54 Custom Aspect Ratio (Width): 1290 Custom Aspect Ratio (Height): 970 Flat screen Vertical Overlay: Integer Scale: OFF Aspect Ratio: Custom Custom Aspect Ratio (X Position): 590 Custom Aspect Ratio (Y Position): 48 Custom Aspect Ratio (Width): 740 Custom Aspect Ratio (Height): 896 ----------------------------------------------------------------- FOR HSM MEGA BEZEL SHADER NOTE: The HSM Mega Bezel is a fully customizable special shader pack. Use the bezel glass or bezel reflection version and, find the ideal color and reflection settings for yourself. The suggested initial alignment settings are: Horizontal Overlays (HSM) Integer Scale: OFF Aspect Ratio: Custom Custom Aspect Ratio (X Position): 310 Custom Aspect Ratio (Y Position): 50 Custom Aspect Ratio (Width): 1298 Custom Aspect Ratio (Height): 976 Vertical Overlays (HSM) Integer Scale: OFF Aspect Ratio: Custom Custom Aspect Ratio (X Position): 586 Custom Aspect Ratio (Y Position): 44 Custom Aspect Ratio (Width): 746 Custom Aspect Ratio (Height): 992 ---------------------------------------------------------------- BONUS 1080P arcade overlay (Mame and FBN versions) for vertically rotated monitors. NOTE: To use rotated overlays, you need to configure the image rotation by Retroarch video settings and, obviously, a monitor that allows you to rotate it physically. Curved screen vertical rotate overlay: Integer Scale: OFF Aspect Ratio: Custom Custom Aspect Ratio (X Position): 230 Custom Aspect Ratio (Y Position): 80 Custom Aspect Ratio (Width): 1224 Custom Aspect Ratio (Height): 918 Shader: One more time, one which lets you define the curvature for best result (I prefer crt-guest-dr-venom). Flat screen vertical rotate overlay: Integer Scale: OFF Aspect Ratio: Custom Custom Aspect Ratio (X Position): 198 Custom Aspect Ratio (Y Position): 56 Custom Aspect Ratio (Width): 1292 Custom Aspect Ratio (Height): 962 Have a good time!

Feature Request: I like this feature, but would love to see it leverage OR conditions, and also more Comparison types, like Does Not Contain. For example, for the Nintendo Classics playlist from MAME, I'd like to be able to include all games where Publisher = Nintendo OR Title Contains "Vs." to also catch some of the Konami-developed Nintendo VS games. I'm also showing some "Game and Watch" handheld games in my Arcade platform Nintendo Classics playlist. I'd love to filter these out with a Publisher = Nintendo AND Title Does Not Contain "Game and Watch". And to be able to Nest/Combine these AND and OR conditions.

This is a Sony PSP Front Box collection of 727 games. Some titles have multiple versions of boxes. I used various parts of existing templates to give these boxes a uniformity and the cleanest look possible. This is a set of Arcade Board Unified videos and themes for use with CriticalCid's Unified theme. I have also included the platform and game clear logos, with .bat files to extract the roms from your MAME folder so they can be imported to Launchbox. Also once the rom files are imported you could always use Notepad++ to change the paths back to your original MAME ROMs folder and delete the copies you used to import them into Launchbox. Additional apps are for a multitude of things depending on what you want to do with them. In the past I used them in conjunction with the Sega Saturn emulator SSF in order to mount a disk in Dameon tools before the emulator ran and then to dismount the disk when the emulator closed. They are used to link multiple games to one game like say in the instance of a MAME game like Street Fighter II which seems to have about 25 different version in MAME when adding the ROMs to LB it will combine the parent and the clone of these games into one entry the parent will be the facing game in LB but the clones will all be added to the additional apps feature. There are even other things you could do like link strategy guides to the game making the reader the application and then from the menu you could open the guide or maps or whatever additional things you wanted to call that were relevant to the game.
