    DISCLAIMER: Use at your own risk! Please read and understand Youtube's terms of service. I will not be held liable for any mis-use of any product or service. This plugin makes use of the open source and unlicensed application, youtube-dl yt-dlp (forked from youtube-dl) to download game videos. It first downloads videos from the link provided in the metadata from LaunchBox, skipping videos longer than a specified duration, and then searching for videos for missing games based on input search terms. It is intended for Modern Windows games as this was my need initially. It may work on other platforms but is not well tested. Installation Instructions: Note: For this plugin to work, you will need to have yt-dlp.exe (included in .zip). Extract the contents of the .zip folder and place it in your LaunchBox plugins folder. Usage Instructions: Select a game or multiple games, right-click and select "Download Video Snap." Adjust the maximum duration if desired. The "Get Missing videos" checkbox sets whether or not to search for videos of games that don't have URL's in their metadata. The "Trim videos" checkbox sets whether or not to trim videos after it has been downloaded. Enter desired search terms for Missing videos. click "Start" to start the download process. Games will download asynchronously. resuming downloads is also supported natively. Known Issues: probably many that I am unaware of. Other: PLEASE NOTE: I AM NOT A DEVELOPER! I know very little about C# and programming in general, thus probably wont be able to address many issues that you may face. That being said I will try and fix things were I can. I've provided the spagetti source code for anyone to modify, improve, etc. (it seems you need to unblock the forms in the "Resources" folder -> RMB->properties->unblock) As of now, i'm more comfortable with the usability of the plugin, however there are still probably many issues, any comments to provide insight/improvement to the code etc. would be much appreciated. Thanks to @srxz for his source of Youtube Scraper of which this is based. Thanks: @srxz @JoeViking245 @C-Beats maikeru86

I'll try to squeeze in a few bezels between now and early january from then on things will go back to normal. First up is restoring the artwork for Exidy's Rip Cord (1979) which will take some time.

  4. Anyone interested in an option to hide/ disable clear logos on playlists. I Just posted a request on BitBucket site: https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/5812/option-to-hide-disable-clear-logos-on

  5. 1- Not all users are savvy enough or have the time to do this when they have many playlists. It's not just about me, but about anyone who like a simple yet a good looking playlists. Thus an option is needed. 2- Not a moot point when it comes to unique new theme ideas like what the OP is trying to do. 3- It's just an option which is enabled by default "thus still help new users to utilize all BigBox features" and still give control to new and expert users whom wants it to be disabled for certain scenarios like this one. I think this is a better design approach IMHO. I don't see why an "enable/ disable" option which is enabled by default (Clear logos are enabled) to be that hard to implement by the developers. I think they are awesome based on what I see from all the new features and enhancements they bring with every release. I don't think they are lazy or something. lol ?

  6. 1- I want a big text wheel to use on big TV screen like the OP mentioned. And I think an animated text will look great for that (it's like all the other 4 wheels, but without forced clear logos) that's all. 2- Sorry, but I don't think that's a good design approach. I mean, why let BigBox be in control and force clear logos for playlists? Isn't that the job for theme creators in the end anyway? I'm sure they will not use the default clear logos, as I've seen from using many BigBox themes. Actually, this design approach is crippling some new ways and new ideas to make new and different themes like what is the OP is trying to do with his 4K theme which I really liked. And hopefully use it on my TV as well. 3- What I'm trying to say is let us in control to choose what we want to create when it comes to themes. Not BigBox. It should not force anything that cannot be hidden or disabled. It's a win-win for everyone in the end and it will spark some new ideas for BigBox. That's what's called a great design approach IMHO.

  7. Hello Everyone, My first post here and I hope it's in the right place. Please excuse me if it's not. I want to ask. How to hide clear logos on BigBox playlists please? (See the Screenshot I attached). I tried to delete them using "Edit Playlist" menu on Launchbox. But they keep regenerating once I close that menu. Also, I tried different Wheel option on BigBox using "Playlist View" with no success. I'm on Version 11.8, using BigBox default theme and platform wheel 1. Is there a way to do it and did I missed something? Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

  8. Thanks for the response Jason and I appreciate you taking it on board! Understood in regards to time-commitment:user participation, hopefully we'll see something of it in the future.

  12. In VSScraper.cs, add private string pluginPath = Path.GetDirectoryName(System.Reflection.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().Location) + "\\"; In the (4) "Process youtube_dl = new Process();" sections, change: // youtube_dl.StartInfo.FileName = $@"{GetSystemDirectory()}\youtube-dl.exe"; // TO youtube_dl.StartInfo.FileName = pluginPath + "youtube-dl.exe"; And place "youtube-dl.exe" inside the ../Plugins/Vidsnap Scraper/ folder. Then there's no issue with the System32 or WoW-whatever folder issues. Well, it at least worked the one time I tried. ?

  13. Should be able to do something similar to the below to get your plugin folder. Replace "PluginName" with the name of your plugin folder. Path.Combine(Directory.GetParent(Directory.GetCurrentDirectory()).FullName, "Plugins", "PluginName")

  14. Honestly, I don't know. Are you using a slow drive to store LaunchBox and its media? A network drive? I remind you that the design of my theme, with its large fullscreen animation, pushes XAML to its limits. (acording Microsoft's doc) For the gameplay videos, I use the EmuMovie video as much as possible. Because I don't have the knowledge to make a custom for each platform and because it will take too long. (I'm already sooooo slow ... ^^) PC Engine (+CD) are planned. But I'm not sure I understand your "interface" story. Do you have a link to explain to me?

  15. Wait! You say Launchbox/ BigBox is made by 2 developers currently?! What a great developers they are IMHO! I got the whole picture now. Sure and fair enough. I will submit about this on BitBucket site when I have the time. Thanks for pointing me to the link and Best wishes and merry Christmas to the amazing developers and Mods.

  16. I know that this is not a feature mentioned but the scratching of game data in another language would really be the absolute functionality of this magnificent software that I love so much, for my part I translate my game files one by one and to the limit an option that retrieves users' game files and centralizes them in the Game DB database so that the whole community can benefit from them sincerely lauchbox is the most successful and most relevant front end for roms collector i do not regret my lifetime license but this little extra would be great in the near future or if not to be able to use the screen scraper translations in the launchbox without What a mess I hope not to be too off topic anyway thank you for this great job sorry for my english i'm french and i don't express myself very well in english

  17. Okay, so I've tested on three PCs now and everything seems to be working on all of them so I'm going to go ahead and put out the public testing archive. As a reminder, Launchbox is not included in this as I'm still working on that side of things, but it's completely functional without it. You just need to go into the "Games" subfolder, go into a specific game subfolder and then start the .vbs within. A temporary version of the updated games spreadsheet can be found here. All of the new games for 0.35 are listed at the bottom, rows 2002 - 2503. Games that have manuals have it noted on the spreadsheet in the "Manual" column, as are Text Adventures. There's also a second tab that has a breakdown of the different custom tracks in use and the contents of playlists that contain multiple similarly-themed tracks. The controls for the manuals are: Numpad Minus + Numpad Enter on keyboard or Back + R3 on controller swaps back and forth between the game and manual Arrow keys on keyboard or Right stick on controller to navigate the manuals; you can use the scroll wheel on a mouse as well = and - (next to backspace) on keyboard or LB and RB on controller to zoom out and in; you can also use Ctrl + scroll wheel on a mouse The controls for the custom music are: Numpad Minus + Up arrow on keyboard or Back + D-pad up on controller to show info for current track Numpad Minus + Down arrow on keyboard or Back + D-pad down on controller to hide info for current track Numpad Minus + Right arrow on keyboard or Back + D-pad right on controller for next track in a playlist (note that not every game is setup with a playlist and are single tracks, but most are in playlists) Numpad Minus + Left arrow on keyboard or Back + D-pad left on controller for previous track in a playlist The controller mappings for these functions are also listed on the controller overlay (Numpad Minus + Numpad Plus on keyboard or Back + Start on controller during play). There are a lot of new options in the Configurator as well, so feel free to play around with those. If your hardware is capable (i.e. a decent dedicated video card and a decent CPU) then I would recommend using the Esper C64 shader. To update on the progress of the LB side of things. I've imported the first 200 new games and, of those, about 75% were recognized/correct, which isn't too bad. That's a little better than I normally expect, so hopefully me posting updates in here of what I was adding, as I was adding it, helped after all I'd like to thank all the folks that work on that side of things as it certainly makes my job a lot easier! I've still got a fair bit of work ahead but it's getting closer. C64 Dreams v0.35 Public Testing Download If you run into any issues, please let me know!

  20. Alright, final batch of 50, for a new total of 2500! More significantly, however, is that I now have a rather eye-watering 654 manuals converted and setup. That means that 26% of the games in the collection have toggleable manuals now. That's actually higher than I would have anticipated considering the amount of obscure stuff in here. The reality is that it's never going to be 100% or even 50% because many games simply never had manuals to begin with. Games released through major publishers only represent a small portion of the overall library, and once you get outside of those it's very hit or miss, more often miss. So 26% is about as good as I could have hoped. I know that there's still some stuff out there that I haven't found yet, but I wouldn't anticipate that percentage to go up much over time (it's more likely that it'd go down). So... what's left to do? Well, I have about 25 games that I need to create new custom note overlays for, and I have to go back and re-create all the previous ones because the base controls overlay has changed with the new manual and music functions. Then I have to import all of the new stuff into Launchbox and scrape for media/metadata, which is no small task in and of itself. I'm also going to try to do a bit of media/metadata cleanup to pull in new data that's been added to the db since the last version. I'm not going to go too crazy with that, but basically I'm going to try rescraping the stuff that wasn't matched/didn't exist in the db the last time, and anything that doesn't have a description or cover. After that it's some final testing and a bit of cleanup. I'm going to try to get this out by Christmas but I can't promise that it'll happen.

  21. For speed of transitions, I found good example and made video. It's fast and simple! Look how red color part pushes main screen to the right. (Just as video in center move to right) It'd be great if there's option for normal or fast transition maybe? I wish I knew how to code... Hope this helps, Viking. IMG_1656_1.mp4

  23. Hello again dears, I did more research and tests and I have something interesting to share. It seems if you name the playlist with a game genre name like: Strategy, Racing, Platform... etc.... it will get automatically and permanently populated with clear logos from an unknown source from Launchbox/ BigBox itself (a feature or a bug?) I discovered this when I made two new Playlists, one I named it "My Collection" and it didn't get any clear logo and one I named it "Horror" and it did get a clear logo automatically. And again, I can't get rid of it no matter what I do. Can anyone test this theory for me please? Just to be sure if it's something affects everyone or me only. Many thanks in advance.

  24. Many thanks for this. It will save me having to constantly edit my own multiple batch files (1 per page that lists the games with a number ref eg 01 = doom, 02 = quake etc.), and 1 per game that is launched by a 'number'.bat file as listed on the menu page. Hopefully the new version comes along sometime 2021, and as far as easter eggs goes... no one seems to have mentioned them. perhaps time to share?
