⚠⚠ WARNING ⚠⚠ I had some problems with some third party color management plugin which no longer works. Fortunately @Jason Carr and @faeran save us by directly integrating some functionality into BigBox! Thanks to them! Colorful is too much work for me alone. @faeran kindly offered to take charge of the theme dev and to migrate under the Community Theme Creator by @y2guru !! Awsome ! Please be patient, this rewritten version is coming soon and will fix the current issues! Thank you !! Concerning myself, I will be able to concentrate on what I know how to do: graphics. (Video set, theme view ... and more) ➡ You can download a beta of this new version here! # WHAT IS COLORFUL MEDIA SET ? COLORFUL is a complete and coherent high quality graphic set, around a unique design. Made with love in France. I hope you like it ! ? Here are planned development axes: COLORFUL Theme : The main hub, a unique interface for BigBox. COLORFUL Platform Video : Complete 4K video set, with a unique design. COLORFUL Source : To involve the community in the platform video creation. COLORFUL BigBox Startup Video : custom video to match the general design. (new) COLORFUL Startup Theme : (soon) COLORFUL Pause Theme : (soon) # HERE IS COLORFUL THEME FOR BIGBOX: On this page we are talking about COLORFUL Theme for BigBox: Design for work with my platform video set, COLORFUL THEME is thought to be used on the big screen (TV) in gaming console mode. Modern, elegant and animated are the key words of this interface. The COLORFUL project is getting too big for me alone. @faeran has taken over the source code of the theme. A BIG THANKS to you for your support and your precious help !! # IN DETAIL ? The main features : 16:9 only. (Works on other ratio, but with black bands) Full 4K asset. (Any resolution must work, 4K assets) Totally responsive. No resolution deformation on text size or placement. Because of the white/black background, some ClearLogo comes with the theme. Gamepad connection indicator & battery level. # RECOMMENDATION ? Any design choice gives limitations. Here are some recommendations for this theme : LaunchBox/BigBox v.10.0 (and up) VLC highly recommended. Design for work with COLORFUL platform video set. (but you can use any video you what) Beware of full white/black ClearLogo. They will be invisible on Light/Dark views! I didnt test this theme on a lowend configuration. There may be slowdown. (Curious to have your feedback on this subject!) # COOL, HOW TO DOWNLOAD ? 2 ways : In Windows : Right here, with the download button. Extract the "Colorful" folder and place it in your "LaunchBox/Themes" directory. (dont rename it!) In BigBox : Option > Theme manager > Found "COLORFUL - Light" or "COLORFUL - Dark". # SPECIAL THANKS ! @Jason Carr for his hard work on LaunchBox/BigBox! Thx man! @faeran for his hardwork on this theme and all other one ! @y2guru for the awsome Community Teme Creator ! To all Patreon guys! A GIANT THANKS to all of you!!! ? I have created playlist clear logo sets, which I have based on the logo font for each system. I had to create entire fonts and edit other fonts to resemble the logo font for many of the systems. Each set contains a black, white and a colour version of clear logos for the following... Playlists logos include: Genres logos include: Regions logos include: Years logos include: Not every platform category\playlist will utilize every logo depending on your build. I have used the same naming system thats used in the Unified Theme. So I would suggest verifying the playlist/platform names before dropping them into your images folder... as some may differ from user to user and wrongly named files will not show up in BigBox. If you do have different platform names you can use Bulk Rename Utility to rename them quick and easy. How to add them to LaunchBox. Instructions: Drag and drop the Platform Categories and the Playlists folders into the Launchbox Images folder. Launch BigBox and go into -> Options -> Image Cache and Refresh Platform Wheel Images. Here is a link to the fonts i used for anyone who wants to create their own missing playlist logos. Enjoy!

  3. This will bulk import ps3 game eboots in LB. Requirements - At least 1 game already imported into playstation 3 platform. Note - this modifies your playstation 3 xml file so as always make a backup before using. "Launchbox\Data\Platforms\Sony Playstation 3.xml" How to use: If you used the previous version, delete it. Download this: PS3GameImporter.zip Right click on zip file. Properties, security, unblock. Extract the FOLDER named "PS3GameImporter" to "Launchbox\Plugins\". Start LB, tools, import ps3 game. Select a directory to search. Choose if you want to scrape region. Note: some games might not scrape the region. This is true for pkg ps1 games. Choose if you want to scrape images. The images that will scrape are the images found within the ps3 rom folders. They start with "ICON" and "PIC". Some of these images can be used for clear logo and fanart. The images will be copied to Launchbox/Plugins/PS3GameImporter/Icon or Launchbox/Plugins/PS3GameImporter/Pic and renamed to the game title so they will be usable in LB. The images are not imported straight into LB because there is no way to tell if the images are usable for logo's or fanart. My recommendation for scraping these images is to first import your games with no images (Select "None"). Use launchbox to then download logos and fanart. And then use this plugin to import the games again selecting "All Games Missing Images" option. When games have been imported, they may not show up til you change platform and change back to playstation 3. Use LB's bulk editor to change emulator. To import psn games, point the importer to rpcs3's "dev_hdd0\game" folder. This uses code from xXxTheDarkprogramerxXx PARAM.SFO editor. Source included in zip.

Back with yet another nice set. The current Game Boy Advance sets that I see out there are all compiled from different resources that have different coloring for the GBA side label, and include different sizes and varying qualities. This set eliminates all of that. I have mad a full NTSC accurate and uniform high res GBA front box art set. Included are all 986 NTSC box fronts. A count of USA 948 + Game bundles 38 = 986 boxes. I have named them using the no-intro naming scheme. When dropping these in your Launchbox build. There are a few boxes that may not auto-load; you will have to manually update your game name in Launchbox using the new alternate naming. I also want to note there is a possiblity of two more boxes getting added in a revision, they are the the following: 4 Games on One Game Pak (Nickelodeon Movies) (USA) 4 Games on One Game Pak (Nicktoons) (USA) Just waiting on official confirmation these were licensed and released in the USA. Version 1.1 will be posted if that is the case. Enjoy!

  5. While this a forum for Launchbox discussion and help and not an emulator troubleshooting support forum we will do our best to try and help people out with anything we can do to get things sorted out. But it would a huge help to us here if people could provide us with as much information as possible when posting and asking for help. The first thing that everyone should do is make sure that an emulator is up and running outside of Launchbox. If it is not up and running please try and check the support forums for any specific emulator that you are using. I do realize that some emulators have very little to none or worse, poor support and we will try to help out. But like above please provide as much information as possible such as emulator and Windows versions. Here is a stickied thread with tutorials and guides with lots of good information ranging from Brads setup guides to the more obscure and tricky to setup emulators. If you have your emulator up and running with your games but not working through Launchbox please post screen shots of your "Emulator Details" and "Associated Platforms" tabs of the "Edit Emulators" window in Launchbox. Also make sure that the platform name in the "Associated Platforms" window matches with the platform name on the left hand side of Launchbox. You do not need a separate program to take screen shots, you just need the "Print Screen" key on your keyboard and MS Paint (Paint.net is an even better option and 100% free). Simply press Print Screen to take a picture and it will be in your clipboard, then in MS Paint just paste it in (control + v on the keyboard). Use the crop tool to cut all the excess stuff in the screen shot or if it's just a small window holding Alt while pressing Print Screen it will just take a picture of that active window. If you want to use a simple program to take screenshots easily and use the method I mentioned above here is a link to Greenshot which Brad suggested below. http://getgreenshot.org/

Here's a quick little intro I made for my own system and thought I'd share here for others.

  7. Yeah, that change has already been made in our code base and will be corrected in the next release.

  8. Launchbox is portable. Just copy the entire install directory to wherever you want it. I also just store my roms, emulators and everything else inside the same folder. You can then just copy the entire directory to a different drive or anywhere else.

  9. Hello to all! 2020 has been an absolutely downer of a year and I aim to make 2021as great as it can be. I want to do my part by contributing tot he community as best I can and so far, that has meant making theme videos. I've noticed that some contributors have their own patreons and it's something I've always hesitated to do myself so I was wondering if this is something that the community would be willing to support? Starting a patreon is a commitment I don't take lightly and if I were to start one, I would absolutely ensure all patrons would get something worth their patronage. The net benefit being that the commitment through patreon would ensure a constant stream of new material for the community at large while providing extra bonuses for the patrons (a thought: custom theme videos?). Please, let me know your thoughts.

  10. Below is your exact quote...you did not say you "tried VPN as suggested" you did say "I did this"...Did what? You tried a year ago what the other user only discovered this year was his problem? The users fix was a Comcast modem setting. Not to try VPN. Like I said you did not provide anything you actually tried. If you would have just stated with more clarity and less attitude it would probably been more helpful. You are arguing and being rude about things when people are trying to help and being polite about it. Not once did I speak down to you or even speak negatively of you. I asked a simple question of you to confirm if you actually changed the modem setting change. So on your request I will lock this thread. It will not get deleted as it is useful information for all to see.

  11. Just wanted to inform anyone interested in on what's new in the database that I'm mostly done with my missing games contributions for this year (and probably going a lot slower from now on - unless we might see some additional platform entries in the database ). I basically started to contribute missing entries early 2020, during this very challenging time. I simply thought of sharing all the media/metadata from the my local collection I had already collected for a long time, making it accessible to everyone using the database. I never thought I'd go through a total of 171917 submitted changes + quite a lot of moderation on top of it. This has included a lot of Japanese entries, like PC-88, PC-98, FM-7, FM Towns, Sharp X1, MZ-2500 and many other older computers (Acorn, Apple, CPC, Atari ST, filling missing gaps from Commodore models etc. ). Of course I haven't been the only one doing this, but those were the focus point I had. Many many others have managed to even complete or almost complete some hugely populated platforms this year like the PS1 and Nintendo DS. So please update your collections with the latest metadata and you'll find that you'll get a bit more ID hits than a year ago The latest batch I put up: Pinballs. They've got some really beautiful flyers, the oldest ones from the 30's(!!) and for example on the emulation side Visual Pinball's VPX tables look and play just amazing. And on the other note: I've seen different "hard" claims on the database (not the best place to make claims to be honest, use the forum for discussions please). And lately one of these claims was about the Wikipedia Field. I just double checked from Jason and he told me that this has been clarified before, so once again based on that information: the Wikipedia Field is ONLY for Wikipedia URL's, anything else shouldn't be accepted. Even if there is no Wikipedia URL available. It's quite natural when you think about it, since we have nowadays a "Wikipedia Link" button in Launchbox and you'd expect it to go right there . You can of course always discuss this, that's one reason we have the forum and we have super cool devs that are actively joining the discussions with the community. Anyway, I wish everyone safe and Happy Holidays and GAME ON!

  12. Thanks to @arzoo's tremendous help, I got it working! After adding the mame.xml and mame cfg file and folder, I did one simple swap from JOYCODE_4 to JOYCODE_1 for player 1 and then made the controls for player 2 identical except for JOYCODE_2 and the LEDS came up perfectly! So it would seem that the JOYCODE_4 quick code mappings were a good starting point. They mostly followed the expected button numbering for a player 1 and 2 Xbox controller. For anyone wanting to replicate an Xinput controller experience on their cabinet, this is a great starting point. The debug log also proved helpful since I noticed the mappings expect JOYCODE_1 and JOYCODE_2 and the start/select button numbering matched what I expected for the Xbox controller setup. All in all, all's well that ends well. Amending what I sent along: Player 1 1-3 Button X = JOYCODE_1_BUTTON1 4-6 Button A = JOYCODE_1_BUTTON3 7-9 Button B = JOYCODE_1_BUTTON2 10-12 Button Y = JOYCODE_1_BUTTON4 13-15 Button LB= JOYCODE_1_BUTTON5 16-18 Button RB = JOYCODE_1_BUTTON6 19-21 Button LT = JOYCODE_1_BUTTON9 22-24 Button RT= JOYCODE_1_BUTTON10 25-27 Button Select / Coin = JOYCODE_1_SELECT 28-30 Button Start = JOYCODE_1_START 31-33 Button Guide / Home / Pause = JOYCODE_1_BUTTON11 Player 2 34-36 Button X = JOYCODE_2_BUTTON1 37-39 Button A = JOYCODE_2_BUTTON3 40-42 Button B = JOYCODE_2_BUTTON2 43-45 Button Y = JOYCODE_2_BUTTON4 46-48 Button LB = JOYCODE_2_BUTTON5 49-51 Button RB = JOYCODE_2_BUTTON6 52-54 Button LT = JOYCODE_2_BUTTON9 55-57 Button RT = JOYCODE_2_BUTTON10 58-60 Button Select / Coin = JOYCODE_2_ SELECT 61-63 Button Start = JOYCODE_2_ START

  13. I know that this is not a feature mentioned but the scratching of game data in another language would really be the absolute functionality of this magnificent software that I love so much, for my part I translate my game files one by one and to the limit an option that retrieves users' game files and centralizes them in the Game DB database so that the whole community can benefit from them sincerely lauchbox is the most successful and most relevant front end for roms collector i do not regret my lifetime license but this little extra would be great in the near future or if not to be able to use the screen scraper translations in the launchbox without What a mess I hope not to be too off topic anyway thank you for this great job sorry for my english i'm french and i don't express myself very well in english

  14. Set the exit hook directly in Retroarch. It is pretty easy. Open RA and in the menu go to the Gears Icon menu and scroll down to Input. In the input menu select Input Hot Key Binds. In this menu set a control/key for "Enable Hot Key" (this would be the control/key you press and hold to activate the control/key you chose for Exit) then set a control/key for "Quit".
