    # WHAT IS IT ? A complete new series of platform video for our frontend. Colorful is a modern and elegant way to present each platform, with its hardware of the time. With maximum accuracy and future proof (4K video) I hope you like ! 😙 # IN DETAIL ? Obviously, Colorful is a direct legacy of my previous video set "Nostalgia". But improved on all aspects: Centred design with colorful background, according to the platform. (theme/logo/box/design) 4K video (3840x2160px) @ 30fps (MP4 H265 AAC) Only available in 16:9, but design compatible with 4:3 All designs are completly rebuilt. More care of details. More TV variety and better accuracy. Arcade cabinet fully made in CGI, by myself. More variety and better accuracy. Added characteristic effect on CRT TV. Added platform boot screen. (if existing) All sources will be available. (Community effort!) # A PREVIEW OF ALL THIS ? Instagram Youtube Twitter # A COMMUNITY EFFORT ? Yes, all sources will be available on a dedicated page. (soon) Everyone can create their own videos that will be included here, in this set. Some rules to follow: - Advertise on this thread which platform you want to achieve. - Post the work in progress on the same thread, for exchange/feedback. - Post the final video + sources on the same thread or by MP. To avoid scattering and centralize everything here. - I will moderate the general quality of your proposals for a coherent result. So, I acting like a modertor on this thread. Do you want to participate? Cool !! I post soon a guideline tutorial ! # OK, HOW TO DOWNLOAD ? 3 ways : One by one - right here, with the download button at the top right. Automatically - in LaunchBox (soon) By batch - On the Emumovies FTP (soon) # PATREON ? I will make a first batch of 65 systems, according to my personal use. But we are far from covering any game system! If the community doesnt take over the creation, 2 choices: the project stops /or/ I finish it. Problem, creating these videos takes a loooooot of time. And I have to deal with a full-time CGI artist job and 2 young kids. So I opened a Patreon page that could allow me to dedicate days on my work time to continue creating video. I'm not trying to get rich, but like everyone else, I cant spend 1 day/week working for free! I hope you understand. If the project interests you: Here is my Patreon page. # SPECIAL THANKS : @Jason Carr for his hard work on LaunchBox/BigBox! John G. for his support via Patreon! Thank you gentleman!!! Marcel W. for his support via Patreon! Thank you gentleman !!! The whole community for your support! # SOURCES - COPYRIGHT : Each brand of hardware and software here represented as a tribute. Emumovies for (most) gameplay videos The Vanamo Online Game Museum for (most) photos. If special credit, see .TXT file in the corresponding source archive. (soon) # PLATFORM COVERED / CREDITBOARD : update 2019/06/07 - that's where we are : TOTAL COUNT = 18 platorm + 0 category + 0 playlist (See the spoiler form)

My last Videos .A little message to thank you for your welcome but I decided to stop my editing on the one hand because I have less free time and I prefer to spend it with my loved ones rather than being in front of a screen, and on the other hand, because in the end it's also a lot of energy, time to spend and personal investment for very little return, the community is clearly looking for simple snaps, and goes to the basics, is not me who says it but the number of download. A video with 5 gameplay screens and a flashing title will triple download and have more chance to walk than a video edited and animated with the same timing ... (attention I do not aim at anyone and I do not denigrate the work of noboby is simply an observation, a fact ). I tried something different I hope that it will have more to some despite all. I leave the place to the young! I remain of course active despite everything on the forum but it will be rather the side of the big box theme custom that you will meet me thank you for taking the time to read me ! After scraping the database and Emumovies for C64 logos I found that out of 6000 games only around 3000 had logos. I hate seeing the plain white text in BigBox so I decided to make my own. There is some repetition but it's the best I could do with the limited resources I had available to me. This being a very long and repetative task I decided to release them in smaller packs alphabetically instead of just this megapack, the thought of going from A to Z in one go didn't fill me with enthusiasm, I need little goals to reach.... If anyone wants to upload these to the database be my guest. Next job - Missing Amiga logos

To commemorate the upcoming Genesis Mini, I created some new 4K overlays. Some of these will be fine for other systems, but they match the 80s / 90s Genesis style best. These are inspired by the official overlays, but by no means exact copies. To use, enable integer scaling, and use 4:3 apect ratio.

Here is a set of ,currently, 270 Collection videos to be used with playlists. This coincides with all of the media released in the @CriticalCid theme "Unified". I have decided to upload them here, because Jason is a busy man,and I understand how much work it could be to enter this many videos in manually. I do plan on releasing more in the future, with an estimated goal of around 500-600 total playlist videos,as well as all of the artwork for the Unified theme that's needed. I do not have an estimated time-frame as to the release of more,I just know that's the plan. While I never expect anyone to actually have 600 playlists in their BigBox setup,I do believe that variety is the spice of life, and this will give plenty of options for personalizing your lists.Enjoy! Here was the release video I made for the initial 70 Collection videos : And here was the preview video of the 200 videos that followed : You can also find the Genre videos here : And the Favorites videos here: And the Developer Video set here...

The video is a shortend version of the Japanese commercial, so the console in the video is called Megadrive, and not Genesis. Link to clear-logo: How to: Add the following 42 games to a new playlist (and mark it as included on your platform-list, if you want it to appear as a console). The standard issue of the GCE Vectrex software system artwork file, vectrex.zip limits all games to a common, generic bezel. That's how MAME does software system external artwork by default. This is essentially a version of vectrex.zip that will allow each game associated with the Bezel Project GCE Vectrex pack to display it's own bezel at launch. Games that don't have a Bezel Project bezel will use the generic one. Note that this is for use with MAME itself and is not compatible with RetroArch. Once downloaded, the file MAME GCE Vectrex.zip should be unzipped. The artwork file in the download is vectrex.zip and it contains the multi-view lay file. The game bezels themselves are not included, due to permission from the Bezel Project to distribute them not sought, so you will need to download the pack and drop the bezels into the artwork vectrex.zip yourself. You will also need to set LaunchBox Custom Command-line Parameters to allow MAME to match the correct bezel for each game. This is explained in the download. The vectrex.zip artwork file will work whether you are emulating using direct media calls (games with the long naming and vec, bin, gam extensions) or emulating using a software list. Notes: The lay is a single elememt one, as the Bezel Project pngs combine the actual bezel and the vectrex game overlay into one image. Some other vectrex lays use two elements, where separate overlay and bezel images are used. When checking out the Vectrex on-line, I got the impression that the game aspect was not 3:4 but slightly wider. I couldn't come up with an agreed answer so I went with 3:4. So the game area is 810 x 1080 with an offset of 555 to centre it. If you want a wider aspect, then you need to increase the lay screen width (for all views) and reduce the X offset by half the width increase.

This zip contains a simple AutoHotKey executable and script that will help with loading Future Pinball tables. The Problem: Future pinball requires the /open "Drive Letter:\full path\table_name.fpt" /play /exit commands to be specified individually for each table, otherwise the table will not load. Launchbox currently will not launch Future Pinball on its own without doing a little extra work in each table's settings. You have to manually enter this on each table which can be time consuming if you have a lot of tables to load. Usage: Simply place the FP.exe file in your Future Pinball folder and point to it instead of the Future Pinball executable when setting up Future Pinball as an emulator in Launchbox. That's it. Roll your own: If you are un-trusting and don't want to use the files in the zip (I don't blame you), you can download AutoHotKey and compile your own. The code is below. I've also included the non compiled FP.ahk so you can compile that if that suits you. That way you can open it in an editor to check the code before compiling. Run, "Future Pinball.exe" /open "%1%" /play /exit

Happy Christmas or Yule brothers! Arcade 3D Boxes 2.0 Important: Press follow button in the upper right corner to get notified for any future updates to this project, future updates to this page will not be pushed to the "What's New" section. I was inspired by the Mame 3D Boxes by @Robin55 and @Reevesad and the work by @spycat and @MadK9 At first I experimented to convert Robin's work to a darker color as it fits my dark colored setup better, one thing let to another and was helped enormously by @Robin55 in the process of automation and more, if it wasn't for all his help and work this project wouldn't have happened, thanks again so much brother! \m/ The 3D boxes are mostly for the Mame set (could include other emulators as well) but only includes Arcade video games, no pinball, fruit machines and such. Features: Covers based on official flyers, instruction flyers or fan art, customized official artwork and more. I've hunted down previously artwork missing from databases and/or very rare flyers, original resolution of these images can be low some times. Each box has a logo for the game, if it was missing I've hunted it down or extracted it from images (I upload these logos to the database as well) Each box has a logo of the company that either developed or published it (some flyers may have a different publisher from another region, bit confusing at times) Each box is manually color corrected, cleaned and optimized Some games have a second alternative version, made from cabinet side art, marquees or from a different region for example Please remember if you miss boxes to also check the naming convention of the file and if it is the same as the most recent version in the database. Any entry with "The" in front (Like The Astyanax) will be included in the QRST pack. NOTE! : After installing the images you have to select all (or any alphabetical range) arcade games (CTRL+A = select all) go to Tools and click 'Refresh selected images', let it load and cache and the games should now display the right 3D boxes. Hope you like Credits Thanks go out to anyone contributing and making art for the launchbox games database. Thanks for any help, encouragement and advice: @Robin55 @spycat @MadK9 @Reevesad @Jason Carr @Kondorito @zetec-s-joe @Fablog @andyco47 @mikty Special thanks to: @neil9000 and @Retro808 for those logistics \m/

Game preservation is a passion of mine. I have been preserving Roms for well over 30 years. These are works of art , just like movies . If we lost classic movies like "The wizard of oz" forever, future generations would lose a piece of history. We are protecting these Games and celebrate the diverse and awe inspiring joy that they have given us.

Native Launcher for MS-DOS LaunchBox for MS-DOS 2.0 is here! If you run MS-DOS (or the DOS console in Windows 95/98), this should be very much enjoyed. It allows you to easily sort through and manage your games/apps within DOS, without taking any extra memory from your apps or introducing any compatibility issues at all. This is done via a simple batch file that starts up and shuts down the launcher as needed. LaunchBox for MS-DOS also works very well with DOSBox if you'd like to use a menu system inside of DOSBox. System Requirements MS-DOS 3.30 or higher 286 or higher CPU (uses 286 CPU instructions) Installation Unzip the zip file and place the contents onto a floppy disk or other media. Copy the four files into a folder on your hard disk (or just keep it on the floppy, it runs from the floppy as well). Navigate to the folder with the files and run LAUNCH.BAT. LAUNCH.BAT can also be called from your AUTOEXEC.BAT file if you'd like LaunchBox to start on boot. You can then add Windows 3.1 or 95/98 to LaunchBox in order to optionally start up Windows by just browsing for WIN.COM. Change Log Version 2.0 - Released Sunday, January 29, 2018 - Many new fields are available for each item: Genre, Series, Developer, Publisher, Release Year, Status, and Favorite - Can now sort items by Title, Favorite, Release Date, and Status - Can now filter items by Genre, Series, Developer, Publisher, Release Year, or Status - LaunchBox now remembers your last selection - List titles and counts have been added Version 1.1 - Released Tuesday, January 17, 2017 - New "Move to Top" and "Move to Bottom" options are available under the Edit menu - New "Insert Separator" option available under the Edit menu - Each application can now have a separate set of commands for configuring the application - New explicit "Run Selected" and "Configure Selected" options are available under the File menu - New "Browse and Run" option is available under the File menu - New "Lock" option is available under the File menu to help prevent accidental changes - Changed the batch file process to better support DOSBox and older versions of MS-DOS Version 1.0 - Released Friday, January 13, 2017 - Initial Release Easter Eggs There are several incredibly stupid easter eggs in the program. Version 3.4.0 Big changes in this one. Some may like it, some may hate it. I now rewrite your ini file to help you out and maintain portability. New game menu item to Configure ScummVM. ScummVM will open with that game selected. No need to scroll through a big list to find/guess the specific game to configure. When using my menu items to configure scummvm, I will automatically rewrite absolute paths as relative paths to your ini file. I also gave you the Configure ScummVM from the Tools drop down. During generation of the *.bat launchers I will check that you have the emulator set up, if not I will fix it for you. Can't change ScummVM path or launcher path now. Just go with it, life will be better. Simple and Advanced modes. Advanced mode is what your used to. Simple mode is one click setup, creates full list of launchers, and emulator creation. It will ask if you want to filter the non english languages. It should be easy if it works the way I intend. click on the Tools->ScummVM Import Tool (simple) click on the Tools->Import->Rom Files to import the bat files as ScummVM games. Now scummvm can be portable easily in 3.3.1-plugin, you can rewriting the ini file. One click will read every single setting out of the ini file and find all absolute paths, check if the path is valid, than convert then to be relative to the launchbox directory. I owe you guys some new instructions. Updated with relative path for better travel! ONLY the DLL is updated... See the update note below lots of new stuff. uses launchbox built in ScummVM by default uses a local scummvm.ini by default, import existing to a local or create new fresh local scummvm.ini, all built in find and remove existing epicfail files. better rom names for smoother mass import BatRunner.exe installed from gui, must stay in your launchbox folder, point to it as your scummvm emulator. (BatRunner.exe is just the ScummVMimport.dll renamed and move to the launchbox main directory. Will prompt you when you create your launcher bat files. So its automatic you won't have do any thing to create it) Just point to it as the application for you scummvm emulator if your using the bat files. Updated filtering with priority duplicate control. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Older Version 2.0.5 from the videos ScummVMLauncher.exe NEW AND IMPROVED - NOW WITH RETROARCH FEATURE This is the scummvm launching system I use with launchbox. Most importantly this allows you to get art and videos for BB. It works for me, so I'm sharing it. SETUP LAUNCHERS: Put these ScummVMLauncher.exe files in your scummvm directory same directory as your scummvm.exe. I'm using 1.9.0.2-win32 currently. If you already setup my old launcher you can just delete the files and the launchers folder. This is how I use it. 1st is to open your ScummVM and do a "Mass Add" if you don't know what that is hold the shift button down and the add button on scummvm will change. You could skip this if you already have your games loaded in scummvm, but I recommend starting fresh. After that close the scummvm program and assuming you have the microsoft .net framework installed run the ScummVMLauncher.exe. From the window, select Tools->load scummvm.ini this will attempt to automatically find your file in %appdata%ScummVM/, if its not there just navigate to the directory that you keep it and select your scummvm.ini file, then select open. This will grab the scummvm.ini file selected and parse it. You should see the gui populate and look similar to the screenshot. The gui should be intuitive. Filter the games the way you want to. Select Tools->Generate Launchers SETUP IN LAUNCHBOX: Setup the emulator for ScummVM and pick the ScummVMLauncher.exe file as the executable. import roms - pick the launchers folder to import. Enjoy in BB, with art and videos!

Please subscribe to my Youtube Channel! My work blends a few influences relevant to the platform while showcasing the machine itself along with the games the platform ran: 1) Music made using sounds available on the platform (where possible) 2) The platform's boot screen (if possible) 3) Commercial influences usually in the form of the platform's marketing jingle. 4) The platform's packaging. In this way, the platform video itself gives an accurate interpretation of what the platform is, was marketed as, and what it looked and sounded like. In this video, the beginning displays a blue screen followed by a flicker/jitter common when starting a GX4000 game. An animated box art screen follows which slowly transitions into a 3D interpretation of the space pilot art followed by a Star Wars inspired jump into hyperspace to reveal game play footage.
