  1. But, you'd be the Director of the project, so you'd have hordes of game developing minions at your 'disposal'. LaughLaugh But, seriously, it's really cool that you're so happy with what you're doing now. I suspect I can speak for most of the LaunchBox community in that we're happy you're "developing" for us! Woo-Hoo! Smile P.S. If ya love your job, you'll never 'work' another day in your life.
  2. F1 Engine Test (They start revvin' it around 40" in). This is probably the pinnacle of internal combustion engine technology (MotoGP notwithstanding Wink). Although I love what's being done with electric cars (Tesla!), the sound of 15,000rpm will be missed. (The engines will rev much higher, but are currently restricted to 15k max). Results: White-hot headers and a bunch of deaf people. Laugh
  3. Yes, those User-Created ones. Folks in this Forum are good "contributors", so those should grow nicely over time. Remember a while back when I first saw those new ones in the LaunchBox Games Database section, and they all had zero Posts and Replies, and I thought all the Threads had disappeared? Laugh
  4. Hewlitt Packard Enterprises's ultimate goal is to create computer chips that can compute quickly and make decisions based on probabilities and associations, much like how the brain operates. The chips will use learning models and algorithms to deliver approximate results that can be used in decision-making. While it will take years for such chips to be commercially available, HPE is testing its brain-like computing model through a prototype system with circuit boards and memory chips. The computer, which was shown for the first time at the Discover conference held recently in Las Vegas, is designed to operate in a way that the brain’s neurons and synapses work. Here's where I need the brainiac interpretation (but I think the last sentence in the paragraph below supports the Topic name): Abstract: Vector-matrix multiplication dominates the computation time and energy for many workloads, particularly neural network algorithms and linear transforms (e.g, the Discrete Fourier Transform). Utilizing the natural current accumulation feature of memristor crossbar, we developed the Dot-Product Engine (DPE) as a high density, high power efficiency accelerator for approximate matrix-vector multiplication. We firstly invented a conversion algorithm to map arbitrary matrix values appropriately to memristor conductances in a realistic crossbar array, accounting for device physics and circuit issues to reduce computational errors. The accurate device resistance programming in large arrays is enabled by close-loop pulse tuning and access transistors. To validate our approach, we simulated and benchmarked one of the state-of-the-art neural networks for pattern recognition on the DPEs. The result shows no accuracy degradation compared to software approach (99% pattern recognition accuracy for MNIST data set) with only 4 Bit DAC/ADC requirement, while the DPE can achieve a speed-efficiency product of 1,000x to 10,000x compared to a custom digital ASIC. 5. SentaiBrad said I also took another thing away from this game, a guy crashed during a flight race and you could hear bones crunch and the guy screem: The perfect analog to this entire conference. xD
Hahaha! Thanks for the thourough coverage, Brad. How long were you guys there (and where was it?)?
SentaiBrad said I literally live about 30-45 min from Sony Bend, so I was super excited to see this.
I won't tell Jason, but have you ever 'applied' at SIE Bend? Wink
SentaiBrad said BUT THIS CONFERENCE IS STILL GOING ON... Finally one last thing, new IP from French Developers for Ubi new genre. Open World, Action Sports. Go Pro, the game. That was a joke. The games called Steep, GoPro The Game, and it's confusing. Now they're gonna talk FOR LONGER, to tell us what it's about..... FML. STOP UBISOFT... STOP. Ubi, go gome, you're drunk.
Sounds as if things were dragging-out now and then. Laugh
SentaiBrad said I would not be apposed to making a video about each conference if people are interested.
As tempting as this generous offer is, you're probably busy enough as it is, so I'll try and dig-up what I can, but thanks! Oh, yah, did you come away with any ideas that could be applied to Invention Destruction?
  6. CriticalCid said So today SimplyAustin started an emulation news videoseries on his channel and features LaunchBox 6.0 as a big headline in the first video :)
He loved it, that's for sure! There's some good "word of mouth" advertising. And Brad, I don't picture you as a minion. Smile
  7. DOS76 said Hackers will be hacking people.
Yes! I'm envisioning an epic Sci-Fi Blockbuster! Laugh P.S. I just did a Google search on "Mind-Hackers", and guess what? Uh-oh! Mind-Hackers.jpg
