  1. You read my mind@Charco :) I had planned on doing just that! The title screen is a perfect back drop for the theme video.

Wasn't aware EmuMovies had a video snap for this... I'll have to check it out and try and do something a bit different. Never hurts to have variety. If you happen to have a 3D box template I'll be more then happy to make a 3D box for you!

  2. Lovely work on this @Riffman81, im really pleased you and @CTRL-ALT-DEFEAT are enjoying them too. I only found these games a few weeks ago when I first started getting into this platform properly...its always nice to find a really well made Fan-Made game [emoji4]

When it comes to the Streets of Rage Remake you are more than welcome to use the Box Art and Logo for your pack, i have the same opinion as you @Riffman81 when it comes to 3d art on PC games. I was thinking a Theme, Gameplay Video, Title and Gameplay Screenshots and anything else you can do is a bonus my friend [emoji6]

    Thanks for the kind words@BlueArrowUK
I'll get to work ASAP on SORR. As for 3D box art, I'm toying around with a design but so far it's not quite what I'm looking for. I might post something soon and get opinions. I like the simplistic Games For Windows template I'm using now as it keeps things simpler and uniform. I use 3D art for most of my other platforms but honestly all of that art came from my HyperSpin days and I just migrated it over when I switched to LaunchBox. I rarely use the built in downloader to obtain box art and screenshots as I already had complete sets matching my ROMs from when I used HyperSpin.

I mostly use the LB database primarily just to get game info and if I need art, I usually source it out myself and tweak it to my liking.
I will plan on updating the first post in this thread that way I can keep track of what's been done, and what's still on the 'to do' list :)

There are still several Mega Man hacks and PC fan games I want to do such as Mega Man Eternal and Mega Man Revenge of the Fallen, so I'll be adding those as well. After SORR I have to get back to other projects for a bit as I keep getting side tracked with new games, lol.

  3. Alright guys, Zelda Mystery of Solarus is up! I decided last minute to get rid of some of the alternate box art I had made for this title and decided to go with what I though were the best 3. This is a really awesome and very well-made game... I wasn't expecting it to be all that great but it really is and you can tell a lot of care was out into making it. I'm looking forward to the new game the creator is currently working on. Streets of Rage Remake is up next :)@BlueArrowUK, anything specific you want me to do for this title other then a theme? If you like your existing box art, I'll use that... might make some alternates as well.

    Manual (In French)

    Clear Logo

Still Snapshots (Game Play and Title)

    Standard Video Snap (MP4)

    1080p Video Theme (MP4)

All artwork made/modified by or compiled by Riffman81 (unless otherwise noted here). Enjoy!

  5. Just finished rendering the theme video. This pack will be up shortly :) I did seven variants of the box art (2D) so you'll have to pick the one you like bast and go with it. I didn't do back box art as of yet but I may at some point. The back box art I found was in french so I wasn't to clear on the story for the game and that's another reason I didn't feel comfortable doing back box art. Everything else will be included (Clear logo, still snaps, videos, etc).

Edit: I suppose I could've just read the in-game story and mocked up a description for the back box. I may do that soon and just update the download.

Personally my friend I have this set up to the d pad as I had the same issue...d pad works perfectly for me :)

Are there controller options in game or do you use a third party program? Sorry, I haven't explored it too much yet and really want to record some high quality video rather then just rip the trailer from YouTube.

  7. So I'm playing this Zelda game and trying to capture some gamplay for the video... for some reason it isn't playing nice with my 360 controller. Link moves on his own and I'm not sure why? Any of you guys have this working with a 360 pad? In the meantime I've been working on covers for this game...

  8. Both of those Solarus Zelda games are awesome and would be great additions to the hack and fan made wheel.

I'm at work right now but just searched to read up on them. Idk how I didn't know about these but they'll be added to my short list as A Link to the Past is my all-time favorite Zelda game! From the snapshots I've seen, they look really good and I'm anxious to play them!

  9. Hey @Riffman81 [emoji4]

I have a couple of Hacks & Fan-Mades that require some media, if you could add them to the list (either for now or to be done in the future) that would be great [emoji3] I do have some media for all these games that your more than welcome to have if you'd like them...ill put what I have after each game [emoji4]

The S Factor - Sonia & Silver (2D Box Art & Clear Logo)

Streets of Rage Remake (2D Box Art & Clear Logo)

Sonic Classic Heroes (2D Box Art, Clear Logo & Gameplay Video)

Sonic ERaZor (2D Box Art & Clear Logo)

Super Mario: Star Road (2D Box Art & Clear Logo)

The Legend of Zelda - Mystery of Solarus DX (2D Box Art & Clear Logo)

The Legend of Zelda - Return of The Hylian (Solarus Edition) (2D Box Art & Clear Logo)

Pokémon: Ash Grey (2D Box Art & Clear Logo)

Streets of Rage remake is already on my short list to get done. Everything else I'll make note of :) can you shed some light on the Zelda titles you mentioned? I'm going to assume these are fan made PC titles but I'm not sure. I haven't played those so I'll have to grab them and check them out and also record video snaps.

  10. So, I figured with the release of my latest media pack (Mega Man Ultra for the NES) that it was finally time to start my own dedicated thread! :) The purpose of this thread will be to share source art for hacks, fan-made games, homebrews, unlicensed, etc. Got a ROM hack or some other custom game you'd like to see art for? post it here and I'll do my best to put together the appropriate media for use in your BigBox setup. I've only recently been adding ROM hacks and fan-made PC games to my setup and one thing that bugged me was the lack of good quality art. So, in between my current projects over at EmuMovies, I've decided to try and "remedy" the problem by making my own media and sharing with the community. Any and all help is appreciated. I'm going to note that I will be taking a little break from doing media for ROM hacks, etc as I want to get back to finishing up the recording of all the HyperSpin themes. NES is currently completed and I'm just doing editing and then I'll be uploading those to my EmuMovies FTP folder. After I finish those remaing platforms for the HyperSpin videos, I'll get back to being able to dedicate more time to this little project. But for now, below is a list currently of what I have available for this project here on the site for download:

    PC (Windows)

    -AM2R (Another Metroid 2 Remake)

    -Castlevania II: Simon's Quest ReVamped

-Legend of Zelda - Mystery of Solarus

    -Mega Man Unlimited

    -Streets of Rage Remake

    Nintendo Entertainment System

    -Castlevania: Chorus of Mysteries

    -Mega Man Ultra

    -Metroid: Rogue Dawn

    -Rockman 4: Minus Infinity

    -Super Mario Bros. 3MIX

    -Zelda: The Legend of Link

    Super Nintendo Entertainment System

    -Mega Man X: Generation

-Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past DX

    -Legend of Zelda: Parallel Worlds

-Super Mario Land 3: Tatanga's Return

    -Super Mario Omega

    -Super Metroid (Hyper Metroid)

    -Super Metroid: Redesign

I also want to point out that I won't be doing art for every ROM hack out there... there are way to many and lots of them are crap. I wont be doing art for challenge hacks or "IMPOSSIBLE" hacks, (here's looking at you Super Metroid IMPOSSIBLE). I'm mostly interested in hacks that provide a nice challenge but still perfectly beatable, and hacks that compliment the original game in some way by letting you play as a different charachter, or new levels, powerups, etc. In short, I want quality and I want what gets played and talked about the most. No one wants 500 SMB3 hacks in there setup... a handful of the best possible will do just fine :) and besides, you got to draw the line somewhere!

  13. Hey @Riffman81... not sure if you have already started working on that Super Metroid Phazon theme video, but hopefully not yet (or aren't too far along). I decided to make the logo on the box art bigger (it seemed too small to me). Otherwise, the box is the same as before. Also did a box and logo for Super Metroid: Hydellion :). Seriously... so many games to do! Great work on that Mega Man X Generation theme, too!

EDIT: Actually, nevermind. You don't use box art in your other themes :P, probably not this one either.

    Super Metroid Phazon.png

Actually I'm finishing up Eris at the moment. Phazon is on deck and I'd be more then happy to use your box art and logos for the 3D box included in the pack. I don't use box art in my themes because I feel it takes away from the theme. Box art is already viewable in BB and that's another reason I don't display it in themes. :) Great job on the Phazon box! I may actually model my theme after your box art! Any luck finishing up Castlevania Chorus of Mysteries? If you can send me the individual art pieces you used to do that box art, I can turn that into a theme and get that one going as well. Long day at work tomorrow but I'll be back at it tomorrow evening.

  15. Thank you so much for this @CTRL-ALT-DEFEAT, I really appreciate it my friend [emoji4]

Sorry I missed your post my friend, just got off work :) I could have sworn I put 2D art in the media pack I did for that game. I guess I forgot to seeing as I only use 3D art unless it's not available for a platform. Nevertheless, I'll update my Legend of Link pack soon with a 2D cover. Sorry about that guys.
