Okay, got a bug that seriously just cost me some time....
This worked fine before .NEXT version...

When I select multiple titles and make an edit (for example I just added some comics, and I do this in batches to add SERIES, so I will select several of them (shift or CTRL-click as needed) and make the changes (usually to series or genre, or version), say NO to more changes, and then I can click off the batch selection and click another in the series, and make a modification to a few of them or ONE...well not anymore with careless ease...

with LB.next even if I select one file after doing this the first time....no, it wants to do a batch edit of the previous + the one I clicked on, and if I do another multi-select and EDIT, it will seem to work, but without me realizing it and without the previous titles selected it will ADD those changes to the previous multi-selected files as if they were still clicked and chosen! ARGH!

To work around and I have to click on another platform and back into the comics platform (or whatever) and then it resets it..

Please fix this!  I use genre and series bulk edit a lot. Thank you!

I have also had issues with multi-select and then trying to subsequently making another selection from the same platoform later and it not making the correct 're-selections'. I never put together an exact way to replicate it as it wasn't 100% so I didn't report it yet, but it definitely exists. The workaround is to switch platforms and come back to it for selections to work proper again.

It's funny this was brought up, I was just thinking about this after reading this thread on the emulation subreddit. I primarily use retroarch for my emulation for a number of reasons, one of them being the amazing glsl shaders that are included. Being able to recreate the actual feel of the tvs and monitors of the time goes a long way towards making the experience accurate, and is the way it was meant to be played. Scanlines are a stopgap measure at best, but they don't really do the same thing. I'd post image links but I'm on mobile right now.

My point is that I think including a fork of dosbox that supports some truly advanced shaders could be the missing piece of the puzzle needed to make eXoDOS the definitive DOS experience. Just my two cents.

This reminds me of this bounty -- http://www.rlauncher.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-5076.html?s=7eae2ed1e3db2c730f3fe356a57d2c60

Using the retroarch version of dosbox seems like a good solution to this if it could mount just using the config files but the current structure doesn't seem to allow that. This would allow for other cool things such as auto-controller config and rewind, too. Maybe someone knows a better way and can cash in on that bounty :P

    • Pressing a letter key to jump to items

These features will definitely be implemented before LaunchBox is replaced by LaunchBox.Next. However, if you are aware of additional missing features, please let us know in this thread. :)

Could we do 2 letter jumps (or more) for those of us with large collections? I know this is technically a feature request and this thread is for feature parity, but thought I'd try as it may be easier to nip this when you're already delving in this particular code :D

I'd like the boxart to scale to one size in a platform like in regular LB. LB.Next seems to show all boxes in different sizes.

I'm thinking he means the option to truncate the text/set maximum number of lines like LB does (as having too many lines is what causes the images to go to different sizes).

    Hi,

Thanks, I have added it as a enhancement request.

For others facing the same problems, the easiest and somewhat dirty workaround is to rename the rpx file to the name of the title and import rpx file. To do this I quickly put together a script that looks for rpx files, postfixes .orignal to the orignal rpx file and create a copy of the original name and names it the same name game title, i.e., to folders up.  Hate doing stuff like this, but it was that or spending hours manually entering the game title.  At last with this approach I could always revert back to the original file name if wanted. Happy to share the script if anyone needs it.

    Best Regards,

    Cato

Id be interested in this script :)

  6. Can someone post/pastebin their Retroarch console log of what it looks like when a hi res texture is loading with the mupen64plus core? I have txHiresEnable set to "True" and the console reflects this on startup,  and have tried putting the .htc files (downloaded ones as well as generated ones that work in pj64) in every possible place it might look in the Mupen64plus system folder of Retroarch but for the life of me can't even get it to show me it's trying to locate any textures, much less load them.

  7. I have about 25k roms in my collection and LaunchBox seems to no longer want to cooperate when doing any work in it for more than a few minutes. Crashes are at different points each time, especially when doing new imports. Specs are Windows 10 w/latest updates / i6700k / 1080 / 64GB ram. Even copying my full LaunchBox folder to my laptop nets the same result. I've tried .NET repair and reinstalling Launchbox over top of itself to no avail.

There's no stack track or anything to even clue me in, or to help you help me, so looks like I'll be stuck at 7.10 for awhile since that works. I wasn't much of a fan of the forcing the .NET update for other reasons but I did it anyway and now 7.11 doesn't stay up if it does too much work. Not expecting any miracles here without a stack trace or getting lucky for it to be a known issue -- which I don't see on this forum, so Just thought I'd report it for now.
