Totally, I see. Yeah if it is something that does more harm than good for a range of other setups then for sure. It's not worth having the app be a launcher if it just makes it more of problem across the board. I guess I was a little naive in thinking this would be something that could be used and not complicate setups but I guess I'm wrong. I'll defer to developers who know best what bounds they have to work with when dealing with devices such as androids. I appreciate you enlightening me on the matter and hopefully in the future we can both see some awesome break throughs.

I get it. I make due with how it works now but I don't use DEX so it wouldn't bother me if it became a launcher. I think a lot of us into emulation use small handhelds due to them blowing up in popularity and would like the idea of booting straight into a launcher instead of the home screen. I see tons of people doing Daijisho and could end up siphoning customers from Launchbox because the ability for it to feel more like a true handheld device and not so much a free app on a phone like device. I know. Why don't I just switch to Daijisho then? Well I do and it's great but Launchbox is just built better, looks better and is a true labor of love I have followed for years (Started with PC emulating). Maybe I am the minority in wanting this feature, so be it and I don't want to sound rude at all but I can't imagine how people would want to hold this app back for a feature like DEX which would only serve people who do Samsung phones versus people on Retroids, Anbernics, Odins and more. I think the handheld market will continue to grow beyond what we saw in 2022. I guess if there is no other way to work around this we will need two versions of Launchbox for android to make us all happy Hahaha.

Is it possible to make Launchbox have the ability to be selected as the Default Home App for android devices like the retroid pocket? I am seeing that other frontends have this ability and would love to be able to just boot straight into Launchbox when I power on or hit the home button. @Jason Carr Thanks for the continued hard work you do.

Ok @Jason Carr so I have learned what was keeping me from getting video snaps to download. After painstakingly going through the process of installing launchbox and moving it over to the correct folder on my sd drive. I realized I was "MOVING" the entire folder. I finally tried this again after taking a break but instead of moving it I copied the launchbox folder entirely. Thus giving me a clone on both internal and the SD card and bingo it started to download videos for the location on my SD card. I didn't think I would have to have launchbox on both but I guess so.

No I'm not getting any errors. Everything works fine and games run fine but when I leave the download videos checked during the process of getting a system installed it doesn't download all the videos. I'm starting to think that it is a bottleneck because the first 10 or so games get videos but then other videos don't show up. I have a feeling it is just taking a long time for the videos to download. I decided to ditch the video option and stick with just screenshots. I may attempt to do this again later.

I have a Retroid Pocket 2+ and moved the install location to "/storage/sdcard0/Android/Data/com.unbrokensoftware.launchbox/files/" for obvious reasons, limited space. Restarted the app and started to process of importing my systems. However, I am unable to get video snaps from emumovies to download, won't even create a videos folder in the new location. (Yes I am Premium). So I went back to my original install location and downloads work there just fine. I copied the video folder over to the new location and still won't use the videos. I'm wondering if I am doing something wrong?

I really love this frontend for Android. I have launchbox for PC and I am addicted to it. I immediately got the full version so this could complete my addiction. However, would it be a possibility later on down the line to create a way to add a new emulator if its not listed. What I mean is when I open emulation setting per game and open override platform emulator settings, you get to choose a different core for retroarch. I would like to be able to add a new core like "flycast_libretro_android.so" to the list of cores for arcade so I could play the one game that is a pain and that's Marvel Vs Capcom 2.

This is an awesome program and makes running Scumm games a breeze. Thank you so much for this. However, I've notice there's a handful of games that don't launch correctly through Launchbox but they run fine when I run them directly from ScummVM. I've done the same steps for each game but can't figure out why it does this for just a few games. (drascula the vampire strikes back, Lure of the Temptress, Kyrandia series) just to name the ones that come to mind. The error I get for these games is usually something along the lines of "missing kyra.dat file or file is corrupted" as an example of what I get from the Kyrandia games but it's the same for the others. This may be operator error but is there a way to get these games to work through Launchbox? It maybe a setting that I'm overlooking. Note: I am using Retroarch simply because I can make using a controller easier across all my platforms. If I used the Scummvm built into launchbox I'd have to use a 3rd party controller mapping app (Pinnacle or similar). I don't want to do this because it competes when I am playing other platforms in Retroarch using the built in Retropad unless I manually turn it on and off as I need it. I prefer not to have to do this. Again, this is the best thing to happen for ScummVM players. Mad props!
