  10. Recently I noticed that when I import games, a lot of them end up with the beta version as the default version.

Is there a smart way for me to tell Launchbox to use the US or Euro version by default, on games I've already imported, since I'm never interested in the beta?

I've created a lot of playlists, so I'd rather not delete platforms and re-import - guess I'll loose what's on my playlists if I do, right?

I hope it makes sense, I've attached a screenshot to show what I'm talking about. Right now I'm going through them one by one in audit mode, but there are hundreds of betas on each platform - maybe there's a faster solution?

I've got a problem, that's probably a noob question, but it's driving me nuts.

In my NES collection, I would like to have the 715 officially licensed games, but when I import my NoIntro-romset (filled with proto, Unl, Rev A, etc.) and filter it in Launchbox, I end up with 714.

Is there any smart way for me to find out what game I'm missing? I'm so close to finished, and I've spent hours going through the Wiki list (manually) to spot the difference.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_Entertainment_System_games

Tried Romcenter, but I couldn't figure out how it would end up showing me what game is not included in my Launchbox collection.

My best guess is that this happened: 1 game is a Japan/US release, and has the Japan version set as default, and my auto-populate is filtering it out as 'Not US'.

Any help is much appreciated, thanks in advance!

(Quick note, I've included Nintendo World Championship and Nintendo Campus Challenge 1991. Also, I've made sure that PacMan and Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade are double titles. So those are not the ones I'm missing.)

Update: It turns out, the list on Wikipedia is misleading.

The text says: "...680 of these games released in North America, with an additional 35 released in Europe or Australia."

But the list of games only shows 35 PAL and 679 US games. So the total is 714 :)

Still - if anyone's got any good ideas on how to check which licensed games are missing in the collection, please let me know.

  13. 'BRUTAL Doom' Playlist Video

    View File

This is a video for 'BRUTAL Doom' as a playlist.

    Tutorial:

My list was created by importing Windows shortcuts.

In the Windows shortcut i created, I've told Windows to boot Doom in GZdoom.exe (the program that runs Doom) and at the same add BRUTAL Doom as a mod.

Right-click on your new shortcut --> Select 'Properties' --> go to the tab 'Shortcut' --> Under 'Target' add the command you want.

    Mine looks like this:

    "D:\01 Roms\Brutal Doom\gzdoom.exe" -file doomu.wad brutalv20b_R.pk3

See screenshot for help. It's basically the software gzdoom.exe with doomu.wad followed by brutalv20b_R.pk3

DON'T FORGET THE  "" MARKS, OR IT WONT WORK

Now drag and drop your new Windows shortcut on Launchbox and select 'None of the above' when asked.

Select Windows as platform and proceed to the end.

This way I've added a list of games for the Doom engine, with or without mods, as separate shortcuts/Launchbox games.

  14. First of all, thanks for LaunchBox! Building a complete library has quicky become one of my main hobbies.

    Problem:

In my attempt to collect all 715 officially licensed NES games, I've imported a No-Intro set. I also contains Proto and Unl games, so I've auto-populated them out of the collection. Now, I can see that I have 714 games, so I'm missing a single game. (Just to clarify, I've included 'Nintendo World Championship' and 'Nintendo Campus Challenge 1991' so it's not one of those). Spent two days now, figuring out what game I might've autopopulated out by mistake.

    Suggestion:

An option under Tools that scans a playlist or platform for officially licensed titles, and tell the user how close the list is to containing a complete, clean collection.

I'm thinking: Select Platform --> Select Region (let's say US+Euro) = A list of titles marked in green and red, so it's clear what's missing. Maybe yellow to show the titles that are Unl, Proto, Wrong Region and games that doesn't fit in.

I don't know how it would work, but maybe data from wiki sites like this could be used to pull the data from:

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_Entertainment_System_games

I'm just thinking out loud here - maybe the Audit tool is already capable of doing what I'm looking for. But I think it would help people who are trying to keep it clean, simple and complete.

    Cheers from Denmark
