  1. I used to have these, they were good quality and worked (when they wanted to) but out of all the controllers I had hooked up they were the biggest pain. I had standard joystick and button, trackball, spinners, keyboard, mouse and the lightguns. It was just all too much, so I decided I would just never play lightgun games after that. I always had difficulties setting up both guns for two players. Overall though if I had to get lightguns again I would go with the Aimtrack guns.
  2. That is quite possibly the worst advice I have ever received, I like it!
  3. I’m just here to play games too but sometimes the Gremlins get inside my computer and csuse havoc with settings because they do not want to me play for whatever reason.
  4. You are a brave soul. I had over 100 controllers when I collected for the SEGA Mega Drive but now I am all digital I have ONE controller. I say you are brave because anything over one controller on a PC scares me because of the possibility of gremlins getting in there and messing everything up. I even get the odd problem with one controller deciding to change stuff on its own.
  5. Bah! I figured it out, with no help from you bastards. Just kidding, I love you all. I had set everything up all nice and perfect. Did not touch RA for some time, then it messed up most of my settings. What it turned out to be, which was something obvious or simple as always seems to be the way, which was the aspect ratio had been changed from 'custom' to 'core provided'. Also, it turned framerates back on as well as mucked up half my handheld systems controls. Damn I hate it when Gremlins dick around with stuff. Anyways, that was it.
  6. I had all my handheld systems set up perfectly with overlays on RA. I went to play a few the other day and all have been messed up except for the NGB, NGBC and NGBA. The NGP, NGPC, SGG, Lynx and Vectrex have all been changed so instead of the game screen sitting neatly inside the overlay where it should be they are fullscreen behind the overlay. I have tried comparing the NGB systems settings on RA to the rest that have been messed up but I do not see any difference. Only thing is as well when I go to change the positioning on the screens again to fix them on RA's settings it does nothing. Has anyone encountered this issue before?
  7. I have many Super Mario Bros. hacks for the NES (about one-hundred of them) which are all .ips and .bps files which are compatible with Retroarch as stated here. I did not initially know about soft-patching when I added them to my setup. I quickly learned that Retroarch does not launch the patch files directly. So, I created a copy of my standard Super Mario Bros. ROM file which is the .nes extension and renamed it to one of the .ips patch files so they match, then changed LaunchBox to launch the .nes file and It worked! Only things, when you have to do this manually one-hundred times it is annoying. I manually did it all though and it only took about five minutes. I know this could be done with a batch file but I am not good with those, anyways. I thought I would post this because I did not really see anything on this forum (I may have just not searched hard enough) about this particular topic and thought anyone who searches about this in the future may get some help. As you can see here I have added title-screen and game-play shot as well as game info: Has anyone else done much with this on their setup? I love hacks of games like Mario and Sonic and have tons of them on my Launchbox.
  8. It's "that time of the month" for this aeroplane:
  9. If you are not an actual pilot the best flight simulator is to hijack a plane because not only is it real but it tests your abilities under pressure:
  10. Glad to hear you like the SF30 after the disappointment of the XBOX. At least now you have two awesome controllers to add a bit of variety.
  11. That is a shame about the XBOX controller. I will be interested to hear what you think of the 8bitdo SF30 because even though I do not like the layout of the buttons it looks very cool. Long live Hori!
  12. Even though this is an old thread I thought I would share something else that works for this. I too get the coin error for a few Cave games as already mentioned above. It might be a pain for some if you do not have a pause button on your controller but I do so it is easily reached. When you press coin, immediately press pause a split second later. The unpause and the credit will have been implemented without getting the error. On my Hori FC4 controller coin is R2 and pause is L2 so pressing one immediately after the other is easy. It has worked for me every time I have done it. Some might find that easier than going in to change a dip switch, as easy as that is also.
  13. Yeah maybe you could do two or three sections like the spinner with a few buttons on the left, the main joystick with six or eight button in the middle and track ball on the right. Then each clips together just with a latch on the side to form the whole panel if desired. It would be different.
  14. You could be fancy and make it modular so the panel as a whole has everything on it but clips apart so for games with the trackball for example you can just have the trackball with a few button on your lap. Though that’d be extra work and effort.
  15. I actually agree with that but the tilt would have to be only slight because if it was too dramatic it would feel awkward and the outside knuckle of the thumb would hit/rub/bump the body of the controller a bit which might be annoying as one would not be accustomed to it.
  16. Looks fantastic. I do not see how it could be any better besides possibly making the controller slightly wider than normal so the right analogue stick is not so close to the x-button because if someone had big hands and/or fat fingers they may be too close. Though if you were careful I do not think they are too close.
  17. Someone should make a home-brew Silk Work game, on the Vectrex. & why would anyone want to be a crumby jeep when you can be a chopper?!
  18. Do you mean Silkworm? If so, I really enjoy that one. To me it is a more sophisticated version of the earlier and awesome Choplifter (without the prisoners) which I loved very much growing up.
  19. I did not have the same issues as you at all but I do remember I initially used VLC but after switching to WMP due to a few issues things were a lot better.
  20. Yeah I think for me that is its only downfall. It is great to have something in that genre that is easier for folk who do not like the usual hard game-play but I love it so much I wish it was harder to suit me better (I am selfish). I have not played that one. I looked it up and at a glance it looked like just some cutesy game that was a little 'meh' but I watched a quick game-play video and it looks really fun. I will definitely add it to my list of things to play. Oh yeah of course, pretty much everything is worth what people are willing to pay. My gripe is not so much the price but people saying it is rare when it is not, that really annoys me. If your copy has been in your possession for that long I cannot image getting rid of it.
  21. Good choice. It has to have some of the most beautiful, creative and epic bosses out of any game I have played or seen. That one that is a giant head on the screen is absolutely jaw-dropping.
  22. That website does in fact use paypal. I know what you are saying though. I will be glad to sign your petition. There you go brother. You can thank me later by buying me one when they come out as a result of my awesome work there. Haha, If I did not know what the Mattel Hyperscan's controllers look like I would guess they were for that.
  23. Okay, I have not seen that one before. I will have to give it a go. Well, if you ever find yourself visiting Australia, look me up. We can play a game of Granada together and then afterwards be two grown arse men comfortable enough with their heterosexuality to hold each and cry uncontrollably like two fat women on an Oprah weight loss episode. Then we can eat comfort food like chocolate ice-cream and reminisce about the good 'ol days. Also, @Jason Carr regardless of how busy you are stop just posting on beta testing threads like a big boss man and step down in the trenches with us commons to tells us what your favorite shmup might be.
  24. Twinkle Star Sprites was also on the Dreamcast. Yeah I am not sure what one you are talking about but when you find it and say it I will think 'ahhh, that is it!' Man, there is no shame in crying like a baby to nostalgia. I am a sucker for it. Sometimes I smell a certain plastic smell and it takes me back to the smell of opening a He-Man action figure in the 80s and it hits me like a ton of bricks. I have to be careful because if I get into an 80s YouTube binge of old commercials and stuff I will sit there sobbing like my mother has just died. The soundtrack to Granada really is a thing of beauty and does conjure emotions in me also, you seriously are not the only one my friend.
