Great Job @flatuswalrus!!
Would it be possible to make the videos for the mini consoles (genesis mini, nes mini, snes mini and neo geo mini)?
Hello, I am sorry to say that I no longer make these. I don't even have the programs on my PC anymore that I used to sloppily make them; thanks.

I do think it also has to do with differences in displays and/or viewing distance as I clearly see the difference between the 8's and 0's on the image lol
Yes there is a definite distinction between some of them but then some are clearly not clear. There are differences making some of them indistinguishable and I did not know if it was a font which was a bit unsuited. I thought I would just pass it on is all in case it was something needing attention, if not though, all is good.

This could be a LB issue but I feel like it may be the font used on this theme? I have noticed with the MAME high score tables that sometimes 8's look like 0's. You can see it here with the top score being 780,800 but in the table to the right in the game details section that it appears as 700,800:
I have noticed that with a lot of games. If you feel or can categorically know it is not anything to do with your wonderful theme I will post in the MAME High Score troubleshooting thread, thanks ?

Ok, took a bit but here you go. Here are the 3D boxes for games 1 through 5.
Hey, they look great. If I find any other artwork I will let you know so they can be completed more. Thank you very much for that, I really appreciate it!

I have not because I don’t have them but give me some time and I will make them for you. I will shoot you a message once complete.
That is very nice of you, I did not expect that but I appreciate it and thank you kindly.

I'm going to defer to "What's needed", item #2. "- MAME Software List hash files (located in the "hash" sub folder of your Mame's main folder)"
As for it not Importing on the 1st go-around, I am at a loss. I've looked at the code ad nauseam and discovered my programming/troubleshooting skills-to-date have peaked. So for now, consider the success of Importing as (you so kindly put it) a lottery. BUT, a lottery where the odds are greatly in your favor. It at first it doesn't work, try, try again.
"...and thank you for your support." (Bartles & Jaymes [1984 to 1991])
I originally did not know I had them in the MAME folder anywhere which is why I was using my RA ones. Though, it does work either way. However, it would be silly to use my RA ones when I already have them in the location it automatically points to so I will definitely stick to that. I am happy with how it is so all is good in the world, except for people dying of corona-virus, but this tool is cool.

I used to have it 'remember' your last location for the hash files folder. I then automated it to look for your MAME emulator in LB, and then navigate down to the hash folder and put that in the textBox. It works great on my computer. lol Obviously it's not foolproof. What, if anything appears in the box when you 1st load it? Do you store your hash files (folder) outside of your MAME folder?
I have my hash files stored in Retroarch's system folder which is a requirement for using MAME and MESS in Retroarch. I could easily put it in MAME's folder also as that would make it easier regarding the way your tool is setup to look for it. It only takes ten seconds to browse to where I have them so it is no drama. Spending that ten seconds is my first-world problem.

Haha, I did download v2.0. It is only a minor issue having to go through it a second time but I guess for someone who is giving it a try for the very first time it might leave them scratching their head.

Hi, thanks for the reply in the review section. I would not have mentioned anything had you not replied as I am happy with the tool as is but if you would like feedback there are only minor things to possibly improve it. On the first page where you enter the location of your .xml files it would be cool if it remembered it instead of having to do it each and every time, though that is no big deal at all. Other than that it does a funny thing where I will go through the tool and at the end press import only but it will not do anything so I exit and redo it all again and it will then work the second time through. It has done that to me for multiple platforms. At first I thought it was likely due to me doing a step incorrectly but I am pretty sure I did not miss anything. Other than that it tickles my pickle, thanks kindly.

Wow, I only just discovered these, they are stunningly beautiful. When you manage to finish the rest I am definitely switching over. Great work!

Ok, thanks, but how are you getting the wheel to look so down scaled.
Oh, actually, from memory I think I used the default theme and then just changed all the backgrounds manually to Viking’s Nostalgia one’s.

Hi, what theme are you using so you get the wheel to move from right to left?
I am using Viking's Nostalgia theme.

You also need to provide the corresponding .cfg file for Retroarch to use it as a overlay.
Don't tell me what to do! Just kidding, added it.

Great work here! I started work on adding media to my NES hacks but it was very time consuming and I got distracted working on my MSDOS and Windows platforms. Will definitely look into this, cheers!!
Hey, thank you. It took me a lot of time to put that Mario hack collection together. Though, I’m glad I did as it’s a nice feeling when it’s done. PM me when you add it for the patches etc.

That sounds great.
I currently have all my hacks in one custom platform (made it before the nested categories/platforms existed), but now I am thinking of just removing it all, and making it same as you, divided by games inside.
Yours sounds good too, thanks. It is a lot of work, but worth it if you wish to have things categorised like that. You should see my SEGA Mega Drive, haha:
I have made custom clear logos and even nostalgia-themed background videos for them all. It took weeks of work, but I am happy with it all now. If you want to set up the Mario hacks here let me know and I will PM you.

@Kondorito On my setup, I have separate categories for:
- Super Mario Bros. (NES)
- Super Mario World (SNES)
- Sonic the Hedgehog (SEGA Mega Drive)
- Streets of Rage (SEGA Mega Drive)
I only add separate categories for the ones I really like, and there are many games for. I recently also started a general NES hacks category just for the stuff I really like such as the Castlevania series and Tetris as there really are a lot of great hacks out there.

can you work on a NEC PC-Engine CD one? I only found TurboGrafx 16 CD, but not for the PC Engine version. that would be awesome
I just made one for you. Sorry about the size and if it is not to your liking it can just tie you over until someone else makes one better.

@Dane, I have uploaded a new, alternate Magazines video in both 16:9 and 4:3. Please let me know if they work for you.
Perfect, thank you very much.

I added the Sharp MZ-700 to my Launch Box tonight though it is not in the LaunchBox database and there is no video of it of course. I made this and was wondering if it is good enough? Hopefully the green on the screen is good enough to make it easy on Kdenlive for you. I am unable to finish it off as I have already pulled enough hair out trying.
I downloaded some game footage off of YouTube from the system but my video editing skills are poopy. I am happy to keep making these backgrounds for stuff if you are able to finish them off with the video side of things dragon57?

Would you want just a static picture of the rack w/the mags, or the full animation like is in the cab video?
Full animation is preferable but if it is too much effort a static image would be greatly appreciated too, thank you very much.

Aloha, any chance of getting a video of the magazine rack not inside the arcade cabinet? Not sure if it can just be put on the nice grey background? As it kind of looks weird inside an arcade cabinet as it is now, to me at least.

@Dane, I have uploaded 16:9 and 4:3 versions of an HBMAME cabinet per your request. They can be found in my Nostalgia additions sets. I hope they works for you.
Actually, I have just tested it on BigBox and the background is kind of funky. The nice shadowing present on the normal background must have been effected upon exporting from your video editing program.

I have always used the Nostalgia videos, but am switching over to these because they are simply so beautiful! @viking I know you have lots of requests already, but may I request platform videos for Quake and Doom as I use those RA cores as their own platforms on my setup as I play lots of variants of the two games? Thank you very much.
