  1. Hey, good morning guys, how are you all doing? I have a quick technical inquiry about Big Box and Custom Themes. I want to utilize a different Platform Video Set and Clear Logos per Theme. So for example, for the CityHunter Theme I want to use the standard Cinematix Platform Video Set, along with the default Clear Logos. And for the Unified 1.2 Theme I want to use the Unified Platform Video Set, along with the Silver Ring - Clear Logo set. How would I set this up, so that when I choose the City Hunter theme, the desired Platform Video and Clear Logo Set shows up, and likewise when I choose the Unified 1.2 Theme?. Thank you guys and have a nice day.
  2. Hiya. First off, LaunchBox rules, and I love every bit of it. However, I'm trying to use a RetroArch core(PCSX ReArmed) For my Playstation games. They launch fine if I open RetroArch, and open a game file through the program, but if I try to launch the game through LaunchBox or Big Box itself, I will get a loading icon, but the game never launches. Is there an option or something I am missing, or any tips/tricks?

My work blends a few influences relevant to the platform while showcasing the machine itself along with the games the platform ran: 1) Music made using sounds available on the platform (where possible) 2) The platform's boot screen (if possible) 3) Commercial influences usually in the form of the platform's marketing jingle. 4) The platform's packaging. In this way, the platform video itself gives an accurate interpretation of what the platform is, was marketed as, and what it looked and sounded like. 5. I am losing my mind trying to get this to work. How do I close epsxe with controller input? Running lilypad because I needed to disable the exit confirmation message. Retroarch either doesnt work or runs extremely slow or out of sync so not an option. Epsxe is the only emulator that runs smoothly but the only way to close is escape key and I dont want to open up my cabinet everytime I want to close a game. Also tried antimicroportable which works but needs to always be running which doesnt work with the way bigbox is configured into my pc startup.

Please subscribe to my Youtube Channel! The Amstrad CPC platform obviously doesn't come in a box (other than a boring brown cardboard box that is), so this time, I decided to let the system speak for itself for you all to enjoy.

  10. Hello, I put a bunch of custom music into the Music/Background folder for Big Box to play but it seems to want to keep coming back to the same song. It will usually play the same song when Big Box is first started and maybe play another song after but will keep cycling back to the same song and then usually looping it. Any idea how I can get around this or what's causing it? I have over 100 songs in the folder. Thanks!
  11. Hey, I was wondering if anybody else has a problem with their background music not shuffling properly in Big Box even if the option is checked in the Big Box settings? Mine just go alphabetically down the folders in Launchbox/Music/Background and no matter what I can't seem to have them properly shuffle. 😩🙄
  12. Hi guys, i have a premium LB account and have seen the option to be able to exit games inside big box but I don’t have a clue of how to set it up or if this affects on the current game controls. For instance, I’d like something like in RetroArch when you can configure going back to main menu via start+select buttons. Thanks in advance

  17. Wanted to share the progress (slow progress) so far. I have increased the number of elements the end user can customize (more on the way), plus I modified the object placement and size editor and included the color picker. This video just gives you a rough idea of how this thing will work, my main objective right now is to replicate my PASC 3.0 theme using 100% end user customization with no coding, once I achieve this then I will demonstrate how easy it will be to simply import new images, videos etc.. and build your own theme with no XAML coding.
  18. Still making changes to PASC, adding more user customization elements. The focus this past weekend was to allow the user to choose where they wanted the scroll text to be positioned, such as .. Top of Screen/Bottom of Screen or Top of Video/Bottom of video, feel free to checkout the following YouTube link to see it in action
  19. Hey! So I have my BigBox set up as a front-end for my Multicade, with numerous arcade titles to play, going so far as to add arcade music to the "Launchbox/Music/Background" folder so that it will shuffle through various arcade musics while the game screen is up. It works excellently and I even added album art and info for each game so it displays the song name, game it's from and who the artist is, along with a nice image of the game box art when a new song plays. To make sure the album art is retained for every song, I have each game's music in a different folder within the Background folder. It displays everything fine, but the issue I'm having is it's not shuffling the music, no matter how I set it up. Here's a better description of the problem: When I launch Big Box, it does select a random song, but afterwards it will sequentially play every song from that game (folder), before moving to the next game alphabetically and playing all the music from it as well. If I force it to next song with the BigBox binding, it will indeed select a random song, but afterwards will go back to playing them alphabetically. I have shuffle turned on in settings, but no matter what it won't actually shuffle them if I leave it sitting. It's annoying, as I want it to ideally shuffle every track together, while also retaining album art and info (tried having them all mashed in one folder, this did not fix the issue and in addition messed up album art). Does anybody have any suggestions?
  20. Apologize ahead of time for the slightly blurry video image. I just received my GPD Win 2 on June 15th and wanted to see how my Theme PASC 3.0 and games perform. Im very impressed with the device, it can run PS1, Gamecube, Wii and some Windows games pretty well.
  21. Hello everyone, I really love LaunchBox and especially Big Box, because I use my PC with a controller from the couch in my living room. However, I'm experiencing an issue. I usually launch Big Box through Steam Big Picture Mode, so I can use my Steam controller. With some emulators (CEMU for example), things are fine and dandy, but there are also a couple of emulators (for example all of the NES emulators) that lose their focus to Big Box immediately after starting a rom. Getting up and going upstairs to press ALT+TAB on my keyboard is very annoying and my remote control unfortunately does not have a TAB button... I could use a mobile app (Unified Remote) to regain focus to the emulator, but that is not ideal too. I end up just starting Big Box without Steam, and using my old Xbox 360 controller. Things work fine, then. Any ideas on how to fix this or any ideas for a workaround? Is there a way to map ALT+TAB to my controller (controller automation), like how I press two buttons at the same time to close my emulator? Thanks!
  22. I've managed to get Big Box integrated into Windows Media Center 7 (WMC) so that you can launch it from the WMC main menu with the remote control. If Big Box closes then WMC becomes active again. and if WMC ends up in the foreground (for example, when you press the Windows button on the remote) then Big Box will be automatically closed. If anyone is interested in instructions on how to do this please let me know and I'll post them up somewhere.
  23. CoverBox Nintendo DS Theme View File Hi there, this is the second theme that I made as an extension to the excellent Coverbox themes made by @faeran if you want more platform-specific themes, go check out his Coverbox main theme down below. I recommend using this with Coverbox. However, this theme is different compared to others that it's actually a theme that only plays when you are on the Wii U game selection screen. In order to make it work you have to do the following: (Before starting Big Box, go to Launchbox/Themes/Coverbox - Nintendo DS/Fonts and install the Nintendo-DS-BIOS.ttf font in order to properly display the theme) 1. Head over to Options in the Big Box Menu 2. Scroll down to Keyboard Shortcuts 3. Look through the list of options until you find "Switch Theme". 4. Choose a key for the shortcut and head over to your Nintendo DS Platform Game Selection Screen 5. Press the Key and choose the theme from the list that pops up. 6. Congratulations you now have a Nintendo DS Theme that launches no matter what another theme you're using. I hope that this theme will help you show off your Wii U collection even more and I will soon upload Wii U Video Snaps so stay tuned.
