  1. Is there an easy way to mount an ISO before playing a Windows game? I'm currently the "Additional Apps" feature to run a *.bat file which calls a powershell script to mount the ISO before the game starts, then run a separate .bat file to call another powershell script to dismount the ISO upon the game's exit. (This is because apparently you can't mount or dismount an ISO from within a .bat file) So I do have the workaround, but it requires 4 files, each containing a custom path, plus the iso file itself, so it's very clunky. Is there an easier way to do this from within Launchbox? Thanks!
  2. Launchbox is great for running Dos games with CD audio. With a bit of tinkering with creating a proper config file and automatically mounting an bin file through the launch settings menu, it works surprisingly well if you do it correctly. Strangely enough, I've had better luck playing CD music with a bin file automatically mounted through Launchbox, than doing it manually or using other DOS frontend software. The problem is that while there is a way to automatically mount bin or cue files with DOS games with CD audio included, the same option is sadly not available for Windows based games. I know classic WIndows games are much harder to run on modern computers, but some do in fact work with a bit of fiddling around. The classic 3D Ultra games and the old Racing Madness titles are a good example of games that can run on modern PCs, but tend to use CD audio for high quality music, or music in general. My issue is that I've pretty much never been able to get CD audio to work with bin or cue files in Windows games for reasons I don't know. I own the original CDs in my collection, but converting them to bin and cue files, and then mounting them to install on my machine, the CD music never plays and I'm stuck with the generic compressed music or none in the case of 3D Ultra RC Racers. I guess I could just put in the CD, but I just like the convenience of playing a game by simply booting it up without hassle. And yes, I have tried to convert bin and cue to iso using PowerISO (That's the software I use for making disk image files.), but I never managed to work out how to do it properly, as it always results in an error. And even if it works, it still doesn't resolve the music problem. I've even tried making image files in other iso based software with the same results, and even searching for answers on google has given me no help whatsoever, as it seems like I'm the only person with this problem and I don't even know what it is I'm doing wrong. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is I would really appreciate the option to automatically mount image files for Windows games in Launchbox, as it has worked for me with DOS games and I would hope to see it work for Windows games too.
  3. As per the title I'm having trouble getting an iso to be mounted before a game is booted. As of right now I use Daemon Tools Pro. The attached images show the current attempt. It's important to note that it would appear that the application "DT Pro: Mount Image" is the one that doesn't work at game boot. However, if I manually right click and select that option the iso mounts fine. From what I can gather only one application can run automatically before the main application?
  4. So after getting into Launchbox from EmulationStation I wanted to port my PowerShell script to mount ISO for RPCS3 over to run on Launchbox. I found the same thing as @Landcross that you can't run Powershell under Launchbox for some reason. Finding his\her thread here helped me in a few ways. How to convert PowerShell scripts to exe, very easy. nNASOS is awesome! Will be converting my collection after this....tested his script and worked great! used his script to verify my own, Thanks @Landcross This script will take ISO and mount it as a drive letter, then launch rpcs3.exe with the path to the mounted ISO's eboot.bin. Then waits for the rpcs3.exe process to close and un-mounts the ISO. No need to extract ISO files to play games! Usage: Download the file attached and create a folder under launchbox (or wherever you prefer) with the RPCS3-Launcher.exe and .config file inside. I included the pre-created EXE and the .ps1 script as well but not needed for Launchbox. Add the RPCS3-Launcher.exe to as an emulator. Emulator Name: RPCS3-ISO Path: path to RPCS3-Launcher.exe Default Parameters "path to your rpcs3.exe in quotes" Make sure to associate with platform tab: Sony Playstation 3 and click OK to finish and close if needed. Now go into your games and edit an ISO game you have. Select the emulation tab and choose your newly created emulator RPCS3-ISO (or whatever you named it in step # 2) Do this for EVERY ISO you have. Once completed..... Start playing ISO games with RPCS3 under Launchbox! How to use relative path: Put RPCS3-Launcher.exe and .config into your RPCS3 folder along with rpcs3.exe. setup your default command line parameters with ".\rpcs3.exe" Let me know if issues for you and I can try to help! Also putting on github so I can learn. https://github.com/ptmorris1/RPCS3-ISOLauncher-Launchbox RPCS3-ISOLauncher-Launchbox.zip
  5. Does any one have a working iso file for god of war (usa) ? I recently got the file for it off of emuparadise but the file is ether broken or is bogged down by some kind of piracy protection. It plays normally until the area in the tutorial where the flying enemies are introduced. These flying enemies can't be hit for some reason making advancing past this point impossible. Also the chests in the game are missing some of their textures for some reason. (Some are missing chunks of their 3d models and others dont have the glowing lights that they are meant to have) And during the opening cut scene as the camera pans away from Kratos a section of his face starts to disappear. I searched online but couldn't find any other downloads of it that aren't supper sketchy looking. So if anyone has a god of war 1 iso they know works. I would really appreciate a download for it. or if anyone knows how to fix/crack the iso hosted on emuparadise for it I would appreciate that info as well.
  6. Maybe it's not worth emulating the dreamcast because many of the best Sega Dreamcast titles are available natively for Windows. #Windows Crazy Taxi Jet Set Radio Nights Sega Bass Fishing Sonic Adventure DX Space Channel 5 : Part 2 Ikaruga TrickStyle Grandia® II Anniversary Daytona USA Deluxe Virtua Tennis Virtua Tennis 4 Guilty Gear X 2 ------------------ MAME Mr.Driller Puzzle Fighter Mars Matrix Considering that the emulation for dreamcast to men seems optimized and well taken care of, we are really sure that it is worth emulating the dreamcast?
  7. So, I'm slowly bringing back more and more older PC games to my library, and although I am accustomed to mounting iso/cue files for older games, in this case Star Trek Armada, I've grown a bit spoiled by launchbox's ability to do pretty much everything automatically, leaving me to just double click and let everything run. With Star Trek Armada, it doesn't break the game at all, it just doesn't load any cinematics. I found this post, discussing DAEMON Tools Lite and Sega Saturn emulation, but I can't seem to get the suggested fix to work for me. I just wanted to know if there was an easy way to have Launchbox automatically mount the image via DAEMON Tools Pro, and then have Launchbox launch the installed game afterwards. It's certainly not a deal breaker if this isn't possible, I just think it would be convenient if this was something that could be done.
  8. Hi! I want to use PSX2PSP to convert all my games to .pbp (compressed format, recognized by RetroArc core Beetle PSX HW), but this software need to have only one .bin by games. When a game have more than one .bin, I need to combine them, and I don't want to do it one by one (I have 3000 games). I can't find something to batch it... (a friend made me a .bat that do it, but I have no more sound...) Thank you very much for your help !
