  1. Check it out. Sorry about the audio, I am new to editing videos. Keep up the good work!
  2. I was following the tutorial found here but when I went to try open Super Mario World it just cycled through a bunch of background images. What did I do wrong?
  3. The playsystem emulators work fine and boot up roms fine on their own, but when added to launchbox it just boots the emulator. Is there any way to get it to boot the games directly like most other emulators you add through launchbox? Thank you. (I searched the forum first and saw some suggest command lines, none worked)
  4. I have previously raised the query of synchronising installations of LaunchBox between computers. I know that Jason uses DropBox but I wanted to raise awareness of an alternative. There are several reasons why DropBox may not be the best solution - the obvious one being cost! Also, people may not want their info floating in the cloud or simply be restricted by bandwidth/ connection speeds. FreeFileSync was recommended to me, but I have found what I believe to be a better alternative for myself. That is BitTorrent Sync. The key benefit of both of these is that they are free, however BitTorrent sync seems to have a great interface and is incredibly simple. You simply install on each machine, and then select the folder to be synced. You are then given a unique code which can be entered on the second machine and the folders are linked (and synced). This can be read/write (i.e. updates both ways), or you can get a "read only" code, which means that you have a "master" installation and all others will be synced to that. Another benefit is that there is no space limit - i.e. you are only limited by your hard drive space. Also, if you have many machines you benefit from the torrenting meaning that the load is shared and (hopefully) speed increased! The single downside is that (because it's not cloud) based the computer you are on needs to be able to connect to another computer on your network with the data to sync. Don't get me wrong - that can be locally or over the web, but both machines need to be on. If you have a server machine or NAS drive however this is an ideal solution - I recommend checking it out. Here I am syncing between two local machine:

  6. This is my collection so far. I started my project using Hyperspin, then i jumped to SteamBigmode, then i found out about launchbox. My plan is to build a PC inside a SNES console, i already have the snes, the laptop MB that i'll use inside the snes, the system, the only thing that is missing is some cables, but they will arive soon. And yes, I was using a 4:3 monitor, now I'm using a 16:10 monitor
  7. Hi! I'm rather new, but have imported tons of content. As downloads are low, I imported a lot of them without images. How can I make it import images for all games at once or atleast for all games on a single platform? I just wanna tick all these choices again and make it download all the images/media I want for all games. It would be cool if I could select a default for platforms separately or for all platforms to download a set of images/media for all and future adds. Also: can I make it scan folders for changes-additions to library? In case I add games to my game folder (all platforms seperate folders), could it automatically add them to my library under the platform? Also: why seperate accounts for LaunchBox and forums? Also: is there a possibility for a better scanning of games... I mean, some names have commas, etc. in them and aren't connected to the ones in library. It would be neat to click some button like "extensive search for all titles not connected to games" and narrow it down so it offers near matches and makes it able to connect titles. Thanks!
  8. Hi everyone, I am a complete computer and arcade newbie and am having issues installing MAME onto my Launchbox. I get to the install screen (image 1). I click 'OK' then I get to the emulator screen and click "Close" but the emulator doesn't show up. Am i doing something wrong? Also when I try to add a ROM to launchbox nothing shows up either, it doesn't read the zip file. Can someone help me out or link me to a tutorial for loading MAME. I watched the launchbox video for mame but it doesnt tell me how to install the emulator.
  9. Name: Amiga CD32 + WinUAE + Launcbox Category: Tutorials Date Added: 2016-09-05 Submitter: locvez Hi folks, I have created a small, basic tutorial that shows how to setup WinUAE to run cd32 games and integrate into launchbox. I used the freely available TOSEC set on the internet archive library to test games I own and they come in a lovely zip file which I extracted to their own folders giving .cue and .bin files. Setup WinUAE, pull the .cue's into launchbox, and enjoy! Criticism of the video welcome, it is my first ever upload, thanks. Amiga CD32 + WinUAE + Launcbox
  10. Hello May I ask you guys for some help. we have an old system estimating package that runs in dos which we have got running sweet in launchbox, on a 64 bit win 7 machine, however we need to print from it.and it prints to LPT 1 i have read and used the Dosbox mega build to print and it does work, but its a job and a half to go in and out and re mount the drive each time we want to print. is there any way i can incorporate and use launchbox front end and go through to megabuild dosbox and operate from there I have tried deleting dosbox and inserting megabuild in the files in launchbox before starting for a first time but it still does not work. your ideas and help would be very much appreciated. many thanks Andy

    SNES Bug

I just ran into an issue with SNES (I haven't actually launched a game in there yet, which is why I JUST ran into the issue). Issue: Games will not launch. When trying to launch a game via Launchbox nothing will happen, but they will work via Retroarch. Resolution: Rename the name of the system from SuperNES (SNES) to Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
  12. Name: Emulating the SNES - How to Set Up Retroarch for Beginners - LaunchBox Tutorials [Updated Tutorial] Category: Tutorials Date Added: 2016-08-11 Submitter: SentaiBrad Today's tutorial is back to basics so that everyone of any skill level can utilize this tutorial and learn how to get SNES up and running and how to set up RetroArch through LaunchBox. I cover importing your SNES games, adding RetroArch to the emulators list, updating RetroArch if you already have it, setting the core in RetroArch, some basic settings like adding and using a PS4 controller with InputMapper, setting custom configs and shader's in RetroArch. I also show you two awesome websites as bonuses, RetroAchievements.org and RomHacking.net, both sites which are invaluable to emulation. If you have any questions about anything covered in this tutorial please leave us a comment below or head on over to the forums to ask your questions of us there. List of cores that have Achievements (may be outdated or updated at anytime) These are the cores I recommend for Achievements, but the list may be bigger (like Snes9x also works for SNES, but bsnes is a better core).
