User friendly with "easy to see" custom genre & play mode icons. Designed for Large Screens & 4K in mind. Animated and color changing backgrounds. After learning much more about how to use CTC, (once again, many thanks to @y2guru), I spent much more time on the details in this theme, such as shadows, color changing backgrounds, videos and video overlays, animations, even the blinking digital clock on the VCR (it is the actual time). The gamers in the background are actually moving, looking like they are playing games. I tried to use some video effects to make it look like the ambient room light is changing, kinda like a TV does in real life. The Wall View is my favorite with the multiple info panels that slide into the screen. I carried over some of my genre icon artwork I made for Fading Elegance v1+. I used some of @Rincewind clear logo stuff, mainly the template he shared. This time I used a male voice for platform names I created with Amazon Polly, so they sound pretty decent. I really love this theme on a big screen TV! The screenshots can't show how it functions, so check out the video. I only have done a a few views so far, but plan to expand it once @y2guru releases CTC v2.3. I want to add some of the awesome new stuff he has been working on in CTC to the theme. Video (Outdated 12-22): Download the theme and tell me what ya think! This video is NOT using any extra Platform Videos Installation: Download, unzip, copy the folder "Game On v1" into your Launchbox "Themes" folder Important: If you want the best experience with this theme or any other themes you try with speed issues during screen transitioning, go into your BB settings and turn off all the Transitions except Screen Transition set to Fade and give that a try, especially "Screen Transition" (see screenshot). You might be amazed in the results! Instructions to use Split Screen, Virtual Reality, PvP, Needs Installed, LAN and Online Play Icon features: To get these to work in the theme is really pretty easy. Create the 6 Custom Fields below in Launchbox, just edit any single game in your collection and pick Custom Fields on the left panel. Copy-n-paste one of the 6 custom fields below and press <ENTER>. Then enter Yes in the value section press <ENTER>. Copy-n-paste the other 5 Custom Fields and do the same. Then press OK Now the fields should be ready and Yes is now a choice in Bulk Edit. Close Launchbox and re-open just to be safe. Then you can go back to the game you used to set up the custom fields and delete the Yes's if you need to. You can leave the field blank for NO so no need to worry any of them but the ones that apply, they will need to be YES. What I did, was to sort my collection different ways like genre or playmode. I had a genre set up for MMO, so I bulk edited all the games in that category, first I chose Play Mode, making sure they all had multiplayer added as a value. Then I said yes to make more changes, and then chose the newly created Custom Field: Online Play and just select Yes in the dropdown to add value. The theme will now display the animated globe for all those games in the views that use it. Do that for the other 5 Custom fields using similar sorts. Of course any game can be edited manually as well. The custom fields you can add: LAN Needs Installed Online Virtual Reality Split Screen PvP *Controller Mapping: The only thing that needs changed is Button 3 (that's the "X" button on Xbox controller or square button on DS4 controller). It is set to "Play" by default, so if you use this, you will need to assign a different button to it. Now assign Button 3 to "Filter". That's it. If you get a blank area in the one of the Genre images (like where the Yellow arrow is pointing in the screenshot below), it just means that game is using a genre that I did not create a icon for. If you have Photoshop, you can use the simple template I included in the ..\LaunchBox\Themes\Game On v1\Media\Genres folder to create anything you need. Just open the template, drop a image in the template (re-size to taste), change the text and save. If you don't have PS, let me know and I can try to get ya fixed up. -Enjoy & thanks for trying the theme!
  2. CriticalZone / CriticalZone - BlueBox View File Here you can download alternative versions of the CriticalZoneV2 theme that comes bundled with every LaunchBox installation. CriticalZone is a BigBox theme designed for the usage of widescreen platform videos and utilizes videos as backgrounds. This theme was designed for widescreen displays with 16:9 aspect ratios and optimized for a display resolution of 1920x1080. It will also work with other widescreen resolutions and 16:10 aspect ratios but it may not look as polished. Available Versions: - CritcalZoneV2 - BlueBox: A blue color variant of CriticalZoneV2. It features blue texts instead of green and has a different Default background created by @SentaiBrad - BackgroundVideoOnly: All Views, except the TextList Views, will only use video loops as backgrounds. Also available as BlueBox version. - BackgroundFanartOnly: All Views will only use Fanart images as backgrounds. Also available as BlueBox version. -> Use this version if you have performance problems! - 1.8: The original and now old version of CriticalZone. It's officially EOL and won't get supported by me in any way. It's just still here for archiving reasons. There’s also a red 80’s/Cyberpunk themed version of CriticalZone called “CityHunter”. It’s maintained by @keltoigael and can be found here: How to install: Just download the version of choice and extract the archive into: “..\LaunchBox\Themes\” Open the Options menu in BigBox -> go to “Views” and change the Theme to the version you just have installed. IMPORTANT: CriticalZone V2 requires LaunchBox v7.11 or higher! Known issues: - The description texts in all Platform Views and CoverFlowWithDetails Games View won’t fill the whole space of the descriptions box when you use CriticalZone with a higher DPI setting than 100% or a lower display resolution than 1902x1080. It gets progressively worse the higher the DPI settings and/or lower the resolution is. Thanks & Credits: Thanks to @SentaiBrad for creating the new Default background video for the BlueBox variant.
