Alright I had been working on these for a year now so this first pack is a whooping 1GB (blame my lazyness) and don't worry, other packs will come in the future and be much smaller in scale. I'll update this description later with all the games included but for now there is plenty in here, I'm sure you have some. Of course you'll need @faeran's amazing theme that you can find in the theme manager of Big Box or over here, you'll also find the instruction on how to set these backgrounds for yourself and don't worry, my files are organized to be an easy import Also in this pack, you'll find graphics with no backgrounds and that's because these are my own personnal addons to @Scratcher's already great contributions to this theme which you can find here if you don't already have them IMPORTANT NOTE: A few of my backgrounds use animated graphics as gifs which in the current version of Retrotastic do not show up, Faeran has already mentionned on forums that this will be remedied in a future update so keep in mind that games like Baba is You, South Park: Stick Of Truth and Cuphead will feel empty as a result.
  2. Zen Pinball FX3 Image Media Pack - Updated to Volume 5 View File This includes media for all 96 Pinball FX3 tables through Volume 5 released in December 2019. This pack includes: Clear Logo Docklet Gameplay Screenshot Full Table Gameplay Screenshot Background Pseudo-Backglass - I use these for Game Title snaps Advertisement - Front and Back (for the recreation tables only) I only made a few of the backglass/background images when no others were available. The rest are credited to others, gathered from Zen site, Steam, www.gameex.info pinballx media site, and around the web. If someone objects to an image they created being in this pack, let me know and I will remove it. For those that have two screen setups, then the images for the background on screen #2, named according to the PXP (Steam) file naming convention (which is not straightforward) are in the "Two-Screen Images - PXP Naming.zip" file. The Pinball FX3 Images.Zip file contains a zip of the Launchbox images folders. Within the folder structure they are as follows: Clear Logo = Clear Logo folder Docklet = Box-Front-Reconstructed folder Gameplay Screenshot = Screenshot-Gameplay Full Table Gameplay Screenshot = Screenshot-Game Select Background = Fanart-Background Pseudo-Backglass = Screenshot-Game Title Advertisement - Front and Back (for the recreation tables only) - Flyers folders If you want video snaps, you can find those here: Lastly this platform XML file contains data for each table, PXP name, year, manufacturer, brief description (usually from Zen site), and base information that would normally be downloaded from LB DB. NOTE: The XML file is now located with rest of image downloads. Just click "DOWNLOAD" button at top right, and it is the last entry. 3. Hi All, Forgive me if I should be posting this elsewhere but I have a bug to report on Launchbox v11.2 released this morning. If you go to tools - options - background priorities, you are unable to make any changes. You can select which field you require but it does not get implemented and when you go back to check, only a blank box is ticked... I haven't checked the other fields as yet. Is this something that can be fixed in the next release?

  5. I've been loving Bigbox and just added a new platform to the list. when i did i noticed the background for that new platform was just the box art blown up or stretched to look bad. I reapplied my themes to all platforms to try to fix the issue and just screwed up all of the other platforms to have the same problem. prior to this mess i had the fan art showing up in the background, i've tried multiple themes but it seems stuck on using the box art as the background. I've poked around in the XML files but I'm not seeing what i may need to change to fix this, has anyone seen this before? if it helps I'm using Unified for my main theme and critical zone blue box, Text list with game details for my game theme. since i'm stuck with the same background no matter what theme i try i'm guessing the issue is something outside the theme feeding into there, i just cant find it.

  8. Hello, I put a bunch of custom music into the Music/Background folder for Big Box to play but it seems to want to keep coming back to the same song. It will usually play the same song when Big Box is first started and maybe play another song after but will keep cycling back to the same song and then usually looping it. Any idea how I can get around this or what's causing it? I have over 100 songs in the folder. Thanks!
  9. Hey, I was wondering if anybody else has a problem with their background music not shuffling properly in Big Box even if the option is checked in the Big Box settings? Mine just go alphabetically down the folders in Launchbox/Music/Background and no matter what I can't seem to have them properly shuffle. 😩🙄
  10. Hey! So I have my BigBox set up as a front-end for my Multicade, with numerous arcade titles to play, going so far as to add arcade music to the "Launchbox/Music/Background" folder so that it will shuffle through various arcade musics while the game screen is up. It works excellently and I even added album art and info for each game so it displays the song name, game it's from and who the artist is, along with a nice image of the game box art when a new song plays. To make sure the album art is retained for every song, I have each game's music in a different folder within the Background folder. It displays everything fine, but the issue I'm having is it's not shuffling the music, no matter how I set it up. Here's a better description of the problem: When I launch Big Box, it does select a random song, but afterwards it will sequentially play every song from that game (folder), before moving to the next game alphabetically and playing all the music from it as well. If I force it to next song with the BigBox binding, it will indeed select a random song, but afterwards will go back to playing them alphabetically. I have shuffle turned on in settings, but no matter what it won't actually shuffle them if I leave it sitting. It's annoying, as I want it to ideally shuffle every track together, while also retaining album art and info (if I stick them all in a folder together it will mess up the album art). Does anybody have any suggestions?
  11. Hi guys. Hope you're doing well. My question, Is there a way to add a specific background image to a playlist? So for example, say the platform is Arcade and the playlist created in Arcade is for Sega. I would then like a particular Sega background image to appear for just that Sega playlist. Is this a current feature or perhaps planned for a future update? Thank you to all the developers and contributors.

I put this out there for my fellow Cowboy Bebop fans to have something cool, and to let people out there know, that Bigbox can handle more than just games. That being said it doesn't scrape movies or TV shows vary well. You need to basically find the images yourself and insert them manually, if you were trying to put your movies in Bigbox. Of course, I have gone though the trouble of doing that work for all of us on this one. What I have done here is create a console theme if you will, for setting up your Cowboy Bebop Anime as a device in LaunchBox/BigBox, that has all the images for every single Cowboy Bebop episode/sessions, and that will appear as its own identity along side the rest of your consoles. The collection includes: The Cowboy Bebop Movie, all episode/session titles, fan art for the backgrounds, Art/images for the "Device" selection screen, and the clear logo for the title at the device selection screen (Bigbox will think that "Cowboy Bebop" is a video game system like the rest of your stuff) Lastly I included the Cowboy Bebop Theme song. Just in case you would like it to play in the background when you are choosing what episode/session to watch. It adds a really nice element to the whole setup. This updated version 1.0.2 is as easy as it gets to set up. It contains everything you need neatly packed, and comes with clear and concise instructions on a note pad file in the download. To get the theme song to play in the background place the song in launchbox/music/background/platforms/Cowboy Bebop You can also get the Cowboy Bebop theme song as your main background theme song by copying it to launchbox/music/background/platforms NOTE: place the song below the platforms folder, not inside of it. I provided a screenshot above if your confused. Obviously I can not give you the actual episodes/sessions as they were called, but if your reading this you probably already have them. If you don't, whats wrong with you? Do what LaunchBox/BigBox fans do best, and get yourself a good download/torrent, and dust off this award winning classic! Hope you all enjoy this setup, and I hope more people end up putting stuff like this out there for everyone to get even more out of BigBox. NOTE: If your not a fan of cluttering your game collection things that are not games, then I would just like to remind everyone you can have multiple LaunchBox/BigBox setups, and that they are portable. You could have one for games and another just for your media. While I am on the topic, if you get an Nvida Shield you can stream your LaunBox/BigBox setup to any TV in your house. Obviously this is great for gaming, but also makes the BigBox media setup much more viable too. An excellent tutorial video on this was made by ETA Prime on youtube. I'll leave a link and youtube search instructions, if your interested. You can search youtube for "stream launchbox to nvidia shield" and it will be the first video, or use the link below. Big thanks to everyone who gave this setup a try. I hope you all enjoy! Stay classy retro fans

  14. Hi, When I click on a game, the background usually changes to an image related to that game. Is there a way to toggle this feature on and off? Is there a way to edit the background image associated with a game (add, remove, change, etc.)? Thanks.

This includes Backgrounds, Logo, Pointer and VideoBorder art to create a "Visual Novel" & "Doujin" Platform/Playlist in the "Unified" Big Box Theme. Simply go to "LaunchBox\Themes\Unified\Images\Theme" and drop the images in the same folders found in this zip. Background images are in the jpeg formats for the newer 1.2 version of Unified. Hopefully someone finds this useful.
  16. When i install custom themes which include backgrounds for each platform, some of the platforms get the default background rather than the (in my case:) the Commodore Amiga cd 32, and the Microsoft Windows background. I think i know why this is happening as i checked the metadata for those two platforms and realize that almost all fields are empty. But the "Scrape as"-field has the correct platform selected. Which field is nescessary for custom themes to know what platform it is? I have two Bibgbox setups, and this problem is only affecting the oldest one (about 3 years old i think)

  18. I've made several posts about this in the past but haven't had any luck finding any help. Among many other problems I've noticed that background Music in BigBox always seems to reset back to the first track in the queue whenever a game is played. Oddly the time it takes to do this seems to have something to do with how long it had been playing before a game was selected, but without fail it will always reset back regardless of how far in the queue it is. This is a major problem for me, as I have over 1000 music tracks in my background music and hearing the same ones repeatedly is really ruining the experience, especially considering the amount of work I have put into meticulously curating this list and managing the metadata. Of course this isn't the only problem with background music playback, but this is the main one that I cannot find any way to work around.
  19. This isn't so much a feature per-say but I was wondering if there is some way I could edit Big Box to have the song details remain on the screen for longer when playing background music? I know it's not in any plugins thus-far and it would be relatively unimportant for the majority of users, but I have an impressive music collection of arcade songs on my unit with a lot of information displayed when switching songs so I figure I can see if it is some simple value that can be edited in a config file somewhere or something along those lines. Please let me know if this isn't the place for such a discussion and I can gladly move to the appropriate location!

  21. It's my first time using LaunchBox (8.5 ver) and I'm loving it. Nevertheless, I have some issues with the background change when I select a game, which I find distracting and slows down my computer too. I have tried different options in the default background settings, but nothing worked. I deleted all the images in the Fanart - Background folder, but now the background is the default one + the logo of the game selected. Is there a way to keep the default background alway set? Am I missing something? Is that a premium option? Thanks!
  22. In LaunchBox when I have one game selected it shows the generic Viking's Nostalgia theme background I use in BigBox, which I do not want to show in LaunchBox. Though, when multiple games are selected it shows the custom image I have selected in LaunchBox > Tools > Options > Default Background > Use Custom Image:Does anyone know why and how to 'fix' this?
  23. Hello! I'm fairly new to Launchbox and I am loving my experience with LB/BB so far. This community seems like a truly great group of people. My question is: Is there a way to have background music playing when browsing games within a certain platform? The Cinematic videos are fantastic, but when I select a platform there is silence. I know I can have music specific to each game, but it would take up a lot of storage space to have a song allocated to each game. It would be nice to have it randomly play through a couple songs when browsing games to minimize storage needed. Is there a way to do this?
  24. Recently I discovered Bridge M1, a nifty little media player that scrapes the music from your MAME roms. I have been wanting to expand my background music selection on BigBox, and was wondering if there is any way to change the audio media player to M1, so that I can have the music from my ROMs playing in the background.
  25. I have some small questions and i do not think I should create a thread for each so I want to post here. You can also point to any helpful videos Videos: How do I add background videos to the frontend? I would like to edit the background video for critical zone.. I mean when there is no video I would like to add by own Any video editor I can use to create themes and collages, free or paid! How do I add BigBox videos.. I'm using default Where are the platform videos stored?
