About Me

  1. Version 1.0.2

    I'm redoing all of the bezels of my favorites collection in Launchbox using artwork I've found everywhere while also using various techniques to upscale to 4k. Most of the artwork I've found is from Mr Do's site and arcadeartwork.org. Shout out to AlexDC22 for the Neo Geo bezels. Here's the settings I'm using for my shader files with Mega Bezel. I had to move all my vertical games to their own rom folder and set Final Burn Neo to turn on vertical for the content directory. Please let me know if you need any help configuring anything. I'm also taking requests! 4:3 #reference ":/shaders/Mega_Bezel_Packs/HSM_Mega_Bezel_Examples/Presets/Community_CRT_Variations/CyberLab/MBZ__1__Advance_Full_Reflections/4K/CyberLab__Arcade-Sharp__PVM-Edition__ADV.slangp" HSM_CURVATURE_MODE = "1.000000" HSM_BZL_WIDTH = "85.000000" HSM_BZL_HEIGHT = "85.000000" HSM_FRM_THICKNESS = "75.000000" HSM_INTRO_WHEN_TO_SHOW = "0.000000" HSM_INT_SCALE_MODE = "0.000000" HSM_NON_INTEGER_SCALE = "92.400024" BackgroundImage = ":/overlays/GameBezels/MAME/astorm.png" Vertical #reference ":/shaders/Mega_Bezel_Packs/HSM_Mega_Bezel_Examples/Presets/Community_CRT_Variations/CyberLab/MBZ__1__Advance_Full_Reflections/4K/CyberLab__Arcade-Sharp__PVM-Edition__ADV.slangp" HSM_INT_SCALE_MODE = "0.000000" HSM_CURVATURE_MODE = "1.000000" HSM_BZL_WIDTH = "85.000000" HSM_BZL_HEIGHT = "85.000000" HSM_FRM_THICKNESS = "75.000000" HSM_INTRO_WHEN_TO_SHOW = "0.000000" HSM_ROTATE_CORE_IMAGE = "1.000000" HSM_NON_INTEGER_SCALE = "88.969910" BackgroundImage = "../overlays/GameBezels/MAME/19xx.png" 480p DREZ Games (Marvel vs Capcom 2, Astra Superstars) #reference ":/shaders/shaders_slang/bezel/Mega_Bezel/Presets/Base_CRT_Presets_DREZ/MBZ__3__STD__GDV__DREZ_X-VIEWPORT_Y-240p.slangp" HSM_INT_SCALE_MAX_HEIGHT = "108.000000" HSM_NON_INTEGER_SCALE = "88.969910" HSM_CURVATURE_MODE = "1.000000" HSM_INTRO_WHEN_TO_SHOW = "0.000000" m_glow = "1.000000" BackgroundImage = ":/overlays/GameBezels/MAME/astrass.png" Full Screenshot Album https://imgur.com/a/WDUclb1
  2. Mr. RetroLust's MAME Lights Out Bezels Revisited View File Mr. RetroLust created a series of bezels which is a masterpiece: Yet as he uses a rather old version of MAME, some of those bezels are not compatible with the latest releases which use a redisigned artwork system (MAME 0.226 onwards). as I intend to continue to enjoy his creations in optimal conditions, I have undertaken to update all the lay files and to correct recent incompatibilities. You will find here the integrality of this collection updated to the most recent artwork system. Based on the version 3.2 of its collection: I updated/edited all the lay files (but one*). Renamed some archives to respect romnames of latest MAME release (0.250 at the time of this writing). Merged some bezels in a zip file to remove any conflict with the classic artworks of Mr. Do. Replaced most of the screen overlays based on pics with lay-coded ones according to the latest MAME sources (ex: Circus). Added some color variations (ex: Barricade) Corrected some known bugs (ex: Dead Eye). Added a toggable gear shift view for racing games when possible (ex: Pole Position). Added generic horizontal and vertical bezels to use as fallback artworks for every game missing individual art file. If you spot a bug, or a game I forgot to add a gear shift, please indicate it in the comments, I will rectify it ASAP. *: For the moment I have not managed to update 'Golly! Ghost!' efficiently, the version included here is the original version of Mr. Retrolust and does not work with the new lay system. It is essential to use the included horizontal.ini and vertical.ini files to make the generic bezels work. The vector.ini and the vector-mono.ini are highly recommended but not essential. The raster.ini is only to be used if you use the D3D HLSL graphics mode. For my part I use BGFX for the rasters and the fantastic ArcCAbView 2.2 shader from Houb: Highly Recommended! https://www.emuline.org/topic/2598-arccabview-display-your-arcade-games-just-as-you-want/ All hail to Mr. RetroLust , he deserves all the credit. ************************************************************************************************************* If you found this release useful, you might like this post where I published an update of Dreamstate's beautiful vertical artworks: - Be sure to click on 'November 8' => Submitter kloug666 Submitted 11/29/2022 Category Platform Bezels/Overlays

Note: This thread will not be pushed to the front in the "whats new" section, if you want notifications for future updates to this file be sure to follow this page by using the follow button in the upper right corner Part of the "Lights Out - Realistic Bezels" series, for RetroArch bezels in this series see: https://forums.launchbox-app.com/files/file/1950-mr-retrolusts-lights-off-retroarch-bezels/ About: 2000 Realistic bezels in 3840x2160 resolution for MAME. My goal was to make bezels for around 1300 MAME games I had in my collection but I ended up making around 700 bezels more. I started this project in 2019 and finished it in 2022. I used existing high quality artwork but also cleaned a lot of previously unavailable artwork which @Mr. Do had in his amazing collection. I searched high and low with google images to find existing artwork, which took me to Japanese websites oftenly using google translate and research to get to those obscure images. The quality isn't always as high but I made sure I always used the highest quality I could find. Note: These artwork packs are made for older versions of Mame, if you use Mame 0.226 and upwards and find these files don't work right please see this post as you need to have them in a different lay structure: NOTE: This original project uses a reflection and scratch layer to add a realistic effect, it defines the style of the project, this is not for everyone. But please don't request "a clean verion" as I haven't kept the layer formats for all these 2000 games, this project is what it is. ============== Installation: Place the zip files inside the packs in mame/artwork/ Also be sure to curve the screen in Mame effects, you can use the preset files I've included in the downloads but they are for an older version of Mame (0.198) so they might not work on newer versions. To learn more about effects in Mame be sure to read this well: https://docs.mamedev.org/advanced/hlsl.html ============== Credits: Most of the artwork used are from the most excellent @Mr. Do & the many team members: http://mrdo.mameworld.info/index.php For NeoGeo artwork much artwork came from: http://www.neogeosoft.com/ For Flyer artwork the amazing: https://flyers.arcade-museum.com/ and https://www.flyerfever.com/ Some artwork used from: https://www.verticalarcade.com/ which has amazing vertical bezels, be sure to pay them a visit. Some artwork used from imbord3rlin3: https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/high-resolution-scan-database-scans-as-a-free-service.24725/ Special thanks to the following people, without them this project wouldn't be what it is: @ArsInvictus John Merrit, @Briball @cmgssilva @Orionsangel @Boz1978 @L4ZYD4NE @Manson976 UDb23 @IainSA TheGuru, Smitdogg, CAG, DrVectrex, tbombaci, italie, MAMEWorld, Ad_Enuff, UDb Raspbear, @destrowade @CKL @Thoggo @Antny @Dreamstate

I used the exodus frame and the amazing logo collection by Dan Patrick. Without Dan's hard work I wouldn't have most of the logo's used here. I made these for my Retroid Pocket 3. They're all 1920x1080. For non 4:3 handhelds like GBC and Lynx I adjusted the frames to match closely. If there's any systems you'd like to see, I will continue adding to this. If you find any aspect ratios are off, let me know I'll do my best to match the original console and handhelds.

NOTE: Buttons should be responsive to touch/mouse clicks, But was intended to be used as a decorative/cosmetic overlay/border. 14. So I had mame running perfectly but then I used the Bezelproject installer (windows) to see what the hubbub about bezels was. Admittedly they are cool however, after running 1-2 games I am now get the error "mame unable to create the direct3d device (88760868)" after installing them? It doesn't matter if I launch them through Launchbox or independently either, I get the same result. I tried doing a fresh install of mame 0.240b through launchbox and from the actual installer from mamedev (the version I was running before hand) and the problem persists. All the info about this error seems to be 3-6 years old but I haven't sifted through enough old forums to figure out a solution yet so I figured I'd ask here. I've un-enabled the bezels through the bezelproject program and then uninstalled it (which still left some files in its install directory -_-) . I'm was still getting the error from all three installs of mame (so I deleted all three and tried one last time to do a fresh install which didn't work out). Any advice on how to save my arcade setup without nuking it and starting from scratch?

This is a complement to my recent Intellivision controller images upload. It adds those controller overlays to the fantastic work of @Mr. RetroLust and their fantastic Lights Off bezels, specifically the 1970s CRT. I did do some editing to their bezel -- lightening the reflection, flipping the bezel horizontally, darkening everything, and adding the appropriate channel #3 -- but got their approval to include it in this release. Many many thanks to @MrRetrolust for their work and inspiration! How To Set Up Included in the zip download are all the image and config files you'll need, stored in the folders you need to copy them into. Note that your game files need to have the same naming structure for them to automatically show the bezels. My titles are based on the way LaunchBox scraped the data when I set up Intellivision so you *should* be good if you did the same. retroarch\config\FreeIntv These files tell Retroarch to automatically apply each overlay when the game is launched, so you don't have to manually set each one. retroarch\overlays\GameBezels\Intellivision You may need to create the GameBezels and Intellivision folders. I believe several other bezel packs also utilize this folder structure. These are the images and config files for each game. If you wanted to tweak any of my designs, this is where you would do it. Sources & Design The image of the Intellivision controller comes from Ricky Romero on Dribbble. I edited it to cover the game overlays somewhat realistically and add some shadowing effects. There are additional darkening and shadow effects applied to the on-screen overlays so they don't stand out quite as much. The overlays themselves come from various sources but were mainly copied from intvfunhouse.com (and by extension, Psycho Stormtrooper and the LaunchBox Games Database). Very little editing has been done to the overlays to clean them up. Some received a basic sharpening, some blemishes were cleaned up, and the tops of a few were split apart so the titles show more legibly above the frame. These are NOT meant to look 100% exactly like they do when nestled in a real Intellivision controller. Unique Overlays Most Intellivision games came with two identical overlays for Player 1 and Player 2, but some ambitious releases used unique designs and functions across multiple overlays. In these cases you can see an additional controller peeking out from behind the front one. That's an indication that there are more than one overlays for that title and you can find the rest in my Intellivision controller images upload. Mr. BASIC Meets Bits 'n Bytes Melody Blaster Microsurgeon Triple Challenge (Checkers, Chess, Backgammon) USCF Chess World Series Major League Baseball Games Included I did not create an overlay or controller image for demo, test, prototype, unreleased, or homebrew titles. 25. WootLauncher View File WootLauncher provides game load/exit screens, bezels/overlays and a pause menu with built-in PDF viewer for manuals, as well as support for emulator savestates and images of control mappings. I looked into using RL but didn't feel like going through the trouble of setting it up, so I instead ironically went through loads of trouble creating this plugin. It's not meant to do everything RL does (caveat: I've never used RL), but maybe it does enough and you'll find it useful. It's designed to be easy to setup but also quite customizable. It will not support all emulators but should support "enough"; tested with RetroArch, MAME, Dolphin, Demul, and PCSX2 which I think are the more common ones used (anyway what I use). It should work with other emulators, too. In addition to the built-in look-and-feel, WL can be integrated with Bigbox themes for a seamless experience; here it is integrated with FluxCRT: WootLauncher-v1.3.mp4 The PDF bundled with the download describes how to quickly setup and also how to customize ... so I'll not repeat that here. You can also download the PDF guide separately. Please use the support thread if you have any questions or spot bugs. When reporting issues, supply the log file and any relevant screenshots to help troubleshoot. It's worth mentioning this is not compatible with the new built-in game startup screens for LB/BB, and it likely never will be as it uses a different window management strategy. Absolute requirements for using WootLauncher are: 1. LaunchBox / BigBox version >= 9.2 2. Disable built-in LB/BB startup and pause screens (see PDF) 3. Do not try to use both RL and WootLauncher; it will not go well 4. Configure your emulators to run in windowed mode NOTE: If criteria 1 and 2 are not met, the plugin will simply disable itself. ADDITIONAL PLUGINS: This DLL (Ao.Bigbox.Dropins.dll) contains additional plugins besides WootLauncher, but they are inactivated by default. You can activate these other plugins by editing the DLL's config file (Ao.Bigbox.Dropins.dll.config). See the Ao.Bigbox Customs download page for additional details about these other plugins.
