  1. You know how you can put games in a folder on your PC desktop and also have individual icons next to folders? Or how you can group games into folders/groups, for example on PS4? Can I achieve this in anyway with Big Box? As of right now, I only have 2 options: show All Games or a filter/group. Example: |super mario bros 3|, |metal gear solid 2|, |racing games folder|, |sonic mania|

  3. Hello, I put a bunch of custom music into the Music/Background folder for Big Box to play but it seems to want to keep coming back to the same song. It will usually play the same song when Big Box is first started and maybe play another song after but will keep cycling back to the same song and then usually looping it. Any idea how I can get around this or what's causing it? I have over 100 songs in the folder. Thanks!
  4. Hey, I was wondering if anybody else has a problem with their background music not shuffling properly in Big Box even if the option is checked in the Big Box settings? Mine just go alphabetically down the folders in Launchbox/Music/Background and no matter what I can't seem to have them properly shuffle. 😩🙄
  5. Unified View File This theme is a port of the HyperSpin Unified Widescreen Megatheme project, which was originally started by gibbawho and continued by many other talented artists over the years. It’s supposed to bring a unified look (hence the name) across all platforms while giving every platform it’s own individual touch. I’ve tried to stay very close to the original look and feel but also took some creative freedom, especially when it comes to the new fading info panel at the bottom of the screen. This theme was designed for 16:9 screens and display resolutions only. Big Box will automatically scale itself to a 16:9 aspect ratio when you use a different aspect ratio on your machine. Features: Individual Artwork for a lot of different platforms and playlists + some alternatives you can choose from Matches with the Unified platform video set from EmuMovies Fully animated wheel pointer Spinning discs for disc-based platforms Various other custom animations Templates to build your own platform artwork are included as .psd files Brings a small taste of the HyperSpin feeling to your Big Box setup Currently featured Views: Games Text List View: 3D Box Games Vertical Wheel View 1: 3D Box Games Vertical Wheel View 2: 3D Box + static cart/disc Games Vertical Wheel View 3: 3D Box + rotating disc Games Vertical Wheel View 4: Fullscreen video Platform Vertical Wheel View 1: Fullscreen video + scrolling text Platform Vertical Wheel View 2: Fullscreen video without scrolling text More Views are planned, so stay tuned. The theme includes artwork for the following 498 Platforms/Playlists: The theme will also display a default artwork for Platforms/Playlists which are not yet covered or wrongly named. How to install: This theme only works on LaunchBox version 9.4 or higher! Just download the archive and extract it to: “..\LaunchBox\Themes\” Go to the “Plugins” folder inside of the extracted folder and right-click on the .dll file. Choose Properties -> Click on “Unblock” at the bottom of the window. Close the window. If the "Unblock" button isn't there than you are already good to go. Open the Options menu in Big Box -> go to “Views” and change the Theme to "Unified". Change the “Games List View” and “Platforms List View” to one of the currently featured Views that are listed above. Make sure that in the Big Box Options -> Views –> “Show Games List Title” is enabled. Info: Never rename the theme folder! The theme folder has to be named exactly "Unified" or the theme won't work properly! (that's btw. an universal tip for all other themes as well) Known issues: The logo of the Platform/Playlist and the individual video border don't show up in the Game Details screen and the theme displays the generic Big Box logo and metallic video border instead when it gets opened through any other Games View than the Text List View. Tips for tweaking your LaunchBox setup for this theme: In LaunchBox: Tools -> Options -> Cart Front Priorities -> Select all Cart and Disc related entries, deselect everything else. In Big Box: Options ->Transitions -> Change "Game Image/Video Transition” to “Fade” In Big Box: To avoid spinning cart art go to: Options -> Views -> Make sure that „Remember separate View for each platform” is checked. Than go either to the Keyboard Mappings or the Controller Buttons settings and set up a key/button for “Switch View”. Now you can go back to your platforms and switch the games Views for each platform individually on the fly. Use the Unified Platform videos from EmuMovies for an overall uniform look. You can either download them as free user from the EmuMovies website or if you are an EmuMovies premium user you can get them directly through LaunchBox under: Tools -> "Download Platform/Playlist Theme Videos". Individual platform artwork not showing up?: The media files that are inside the “..\LaunchBox\Themes\Unified\Images\Theme\..” folder have to be named exactly like your platforms inside LaunchBox. I've went with the HyperList/RocketLauncher naming conventions for the filenames in this package. If Big Box doesn’t show any individual artwork for a system that is listed above you may need to manually rename the relevant files for that platform in all four sub-folders. Also make sure that in the Big Box Options -> Views –> “Show Games List Title” is enabled! Discs are not spinning / showing up?: Make sure you have the right Games List View selected and Disc images in your Cart Image Priorities enabled (see the tips section of this download description). 6. Hey! So I have my BigBox set up as a front-end for my Multicade, with numerous arcade titles to play, going so far as to add arcade music to the "Launchbox/Music/Background" folder so that it will shuffle through various arcade musics while the game screen is up. It works excellently and I even added album art and info for each game so it displays the song name, game it's from and who the artist is, along with a nice image of the game box art when a new song plays. To make sure the album art is retained for every song, I have each game's music in a different folder within the Background folder. It displays everything fine, but the issue I'm having is it's not shuffling the music, no matter how I set it up. Here's a better description of the problem: When I launch Big Box, it does select a random song, but afterwards it will sequentially play every song from that game (folder), before moving to the next game alphabetically and playing all the music from it as well. If I force it to next song with the BigBox binding, it will indeed select a random song, but afterwards will go back to playing them alphabetically. I have shuffle turned on in settings, but no matter what it won't actually shuffle them if I leave it sitting. It's annoying, as I want it to ideally shuffle every track together, while also retaining album art and info (if I stick them all in a folder together it will mess up the album art). Does anybody have any suggestions?

  8. Big Box Revolution View File This is my first ever attempt at making a theme. It's based on the song select screen from Dance Dance Revolution 5th mix (with some elements from a few others for good measure). Since I couldn't quite match it exactly I split the difference between a text list view and a wheel view. Since it copies the overall style of the UI it's very busy looking while not giving quite as much info as most other themes do. This was by choice to mimic that early aughts design sensibility. To really give it an authentic touch, I changed the community ratings system to the old "foot rating" used for difficulty in DDR and changed the max from 5 to 10. It's the same rating multiplied by two. I'd love to get some feedback and maybe even make some improvements! It comes with a (freeware) font that you'll need to install. Created using y2guru's COMMUNITY Theme Creator. Submitter strizzuth Submitted 04/27/2020 Category Big Box Custom Themes

  11. Hello, Running newest version of LB 10.13. Connected to Cloud DB and have Upload high scores checked. In Big Box I can see the high scores. I beat the high score in Kung Fu Master, put my initials in and then at the title screen exited the game. I also made sure I was playing the US version of the ROM as what was shown for the high scores. Autosave in the MAME.ini is set to 0. Went back and my score is nowhere to be found. What am I missing? I am using MAMEUI64 0.193, would that have anything to do with it? Do I need to be running the regular 32-bit or 64-bit version? Thanks for any help anyone can provide in advance. Thanks, Nick
  12. Shutdown/Outro Videos View File Installing this plugin adds "Shutdown Video" functionality when closing Big Box. How To Use This Plugin Download the plugin. Unzip to the plugins folder. Add a video to the LaunchBox\Videos folder named shutdown.mp4 (if you need a shutdown video, some of the startup videos work great for this as well) That's it. The next time you close Big Box, your shutdown video will play. Thanks for your time, thanks to the community, and I hope you enjoy. 14. I'm trying to figure out good music choices for my Big Box platforms beyond just game themes which doesn't appeal to me, I perfer the kind of thing the SNES/NES Classic did with it's music. Reccomend me some good music for NES, SNES, Genesis, PS1, PS2, N64, Game Boy, GBA, DS, Wii, Gamecube, Wii U, PSP, and Windows please?
  15. Good morning, finally i configure all the emus, videos, etc... but i want to finish my bartop with the big box at start up of windows. Is possible to start the pc and only view the big box mode ?? thanks a lot for your help
  16. I have been running Launchbox through Big Box at start up since I built my machine in January. Today, my girlfriend and her father played it and it ran fine. I go to turn it on and Big Box crashes about halfway through the name of it and the start up sound. No error, nothing, it just stops working. Launchbox works fine. I tried uninstalling launchbox, and reinstalling. I've tried turning the whole machine off and on. There are no background apps running. I'm stumped. I read through the forums and found people asking about this and am not having much luck with their solutions. Maybe I'm missing some files I need to delete then reinstall, I don't know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all, I've been wanting to create a big box set for a while now and thought the Atari ST would be a good place to start, as it seemed to have the least amount of media available for it. Most of the boxes have been created from box scans taken from other platforms, such as the Amiga, Amstrad CPC, and DOS. As such a lot of the boxes should be able to re-used or easily converted back to those systems. To try and stay as accurate as possible, I've only created boxes for games that I've found a clear scan of the box spine for, or that I could easily recreate myself in Photoshop. This is still a WIP, so if anyone has any missing scans of boxes (with box spines) then please send my way. Enjoy!

  19. Hello! I'm having this really frustrating issue that I cannot get my head around. When I'm scrolling through my list of games and select one, on occasion the game details screen will be missing all of it's options (e.g. Play and Configure) and the screenshot will also be missing. This happens often when exiting from a game also. Here's how the screen should look: Here's what sometimes happens: The most frustrating part is that pressing ESC or ALT+F4 does not get you out of this screen, you can sometimes press the "accept" button on the controller and the option will be selected, however you can not see it. You can hear sounds in the background like the highlighted selection is changing but this stops working shortly after and you cannot scroll to the bottom option and hit "accept" to exit the game either. I'm trying to have a seamless controller only experience but this is killing it unfortunately, please let me know any more info you may need! Thanks.
  20. Hey, good morning guys, how are you all doing? I have a quick technical inquiry about Big Box and Custom Themes. I want to utilize a different Platform Video Set and Clear Logos per Theme. So for example, for the CityHunter Theme I want to use the standard Cinematix Platform Video Set, along with the default Clear Logos. And for the Unified 1.2 Theme I want to use the Unified Platform Video Set, along with the Silver Ring - Clear Logo set. How would I set this up, so that when I choose the City Hunter theme, the desired Platform Video and Clear Logo Set shows up, and likewise when I choose the Unified 1.2 Theme?. Thank you guys and have a nice day.
  21. Hiya. First off, LaunchBox rules, and I love every bit of it. However, I'm trying to use a RetroArch core(PCSX ReArmed) For my Playstation games. They launch fine if I open RetroArch, and open a game file through the program, but if I try to launch the game through LaunchBox or Big Box itself, I will get a loading icon, but the game never launches. Is there an option or something I am missing, or any tips/tricks?
  22. Please subscribe to my Youtube Channel! Original Post: JamesBaker has inspired me to share my own projects but I'm not sure how I'm going to distribute them. I would much prefer sharing them through the same method as James rather than freely available online for other software users to abuse without a Bigbox license (sorry guys). I have a handful of other cinematix I made (all 1st gen). So for now, here's what I'm currently working on: Original box:
  23. Atari Lynx View File Please subscribe to my Youtube Channel! My work blends a few influences relevant to the platform while showcasing the machine itself along with the games the platform ran: 1) Music made using sounds available on the platform (where possible) 2) The platform's boot screen (if possible) 3) Commercial influences usually in the form of the platform's marketing jingle. 4) The platform's packaging. In this way, the platform video itself gives an accurate interpretation of what the platform is, was marketed as, and what it looked and sounded like.
