  1. Shutdown/Outro Videos View File Installing this plugin adds "Shutdown Video" functionality when closing Big Box. How To Use This Plugin Download the plugin. Unzip to the plugins folder. Add a video to the LaunchBox\Videos folder named shutdown.mp4 (if you need a shutdown video, some of the startup videos work great for this as well) That's it. The next time you close Big Box, your shutdown video will play. Thanks for your time, thanks to the community, and I hope you enjoy. 2. Unified View File This theme is a port of the HyperSpin Unified Widescreen Megatheme project, which was originally started by gibbawho and continued by many other talented artists over the years. It’s supposed to bring a unified look (hence the name) across all platforms while giving every platform it’s own individual touch. I’ve tried to stay very close to the original look and feel but also took some creative freedom, especially when it comes to the new fading info panel at the bottom of the screen. This theme was designed for 16:9 screens and display resolutions only. Big Box will automatically scale itself to a 16:9 aspect ratio when you use a different aspect ratio on your machine. Features: Individual Artwork for a lot of different platforms and playlists + some alternatives you can choose from Matches with the Unified platform video set from EmuMovies Fully animated wheel pointer Spinning discs for disc-based platforms Various other custom animations Templates to build your own platform artwork are included as .psd files Brings a small taste of the HyperSpin feeling to your Big Box setup Currently featured Views: Games Text List View: 3D Box Games Vertical Wheel View 1: 3D Box Games Vertical Wheel View 2: 3D Box + static cart/disc Games Vertical Wheel View 3: 3D Box + rotating disc Games Vertical Wheel View 4: Fullscreen video Platform Vertical Wheel View 1: Fullscreen video + scrolling text Platform Vertical Wheel View 2: Fullscreen video without scrolling text More Views are planned, so stay tuned. The theme includes artwork for the following 498 Platforms/Playlists: The theme will also display a default artwork for Platforms/Playlists which are not yet covered or wrongly named. How to install: This theme only works on LaunchBox version 9.4 or higher! Just download the archive and extract it to: “..\LaunchBox\Themes\” Go to the “Plugins” folder inside of the extracted folder and right-click on the .dll file. Choose Properties -> Click on “Unblock” at the bottom of the window. Close the window. If the "Unblock" button isn't there than you are already good to go. Open the Options menu in Big Box -> go to “Views” and change the Theme to "Unified". Change the “Games List View” and “Platforms List View” to one of the currently featured Views that are listed above. Make sure that in the Big Box Options -> Views –> “Show Games List Title” is enabled. Info: Never rename the theme folder! The theme folder has to be named exactly "Unified" or the theme won't work properly! (that's btw. an universal tip for all other themes as well) Known issues: The logo of the Platform/Playlist and the individual video border don't show up in the Game Details screen and the theme displays the generic Big Box logo and metallic video border instead when it gets opened through any other Games View than the Text List View. Tips for tweaking your LaunchBox setup for this theme: In LaunchBox: Tools -> Options -> Cart Front Priorities -> Select all Cart and Disc related entries, deselect everything else. In Big Box: Options ->Transitions -> Change "Game Image/Video Transition” to “Fade” In Big Box: To avoid spinning cart art go to: Options -> Views -> Make sure that „Remember separate View for each platform” is checked. Than go either to the Keyboard Mappings or the Controller Buttons settings and set up a key/button for “Switch View”. Now you can go back to your platforms and switch the games Views for each platform individually on the fly. Use the Unified Platform videos from EmuMovies for an overall uniform look. You can either download them as free user from the EmuMovies website or if you are an EmuMovies premium user you can get them directly through LaunchBox under: Tools -> "Download Platform/Playlist Theme Videos". Individual platform artwork not showing up?: The media files that are inside the “..\LaunchBox\Themes\Unified\Images\Theme\..” folder have to be named exactly like your platforms inside LaunchBox. I've went with the HyperList/RocketLauncher naming conventions for the filenames in this package. If Big Box doesn’t show any individual artwork for a system that is listed above you may need to manually rename the relevant files for that platform in all four sub-folders. Also make sure that in the Big Box Options -> Views –> “Show Games List Title” is enabled! Discs are not spinning / showing up?: Make sure you have the right Games List View selected and Disc images in your Cart Image Priorities enabled (see the tips section of this download description). 5. Hello - I apologize if this question has been asked in the past. I am organizing my Launchbox library into a custom filter to better see the games I would want to play on a regular basis. Is there a way for Big Box to view the custom filter I created? Thank you!
  6. Hi all, As the title says, my Big Box digital marquee works very reliably with everything I throw at it, except Teknoparrot games. And even then, Tekken 7 does display the digital marquee correctly through Teknoparrot. No other games do, though. This video below shows the issue. I try to load Sega Golden Gun and the marquee monitor shows a portion of the Big Box game view instead of the marquee image. (it's confusing because the Big Box game view has the marquee image on it). To reiterate, this issue happens on 16 out of the 17 Teknoparrot games I have. They are a mix of fighters, racers and light gun games. big box digital marquee teknoparrot.mp4 This video below shows it working with Teknoparrot on Tekken 7. This is the only Teknoparrot game marquee to show correctly out of 17 games. big box digital marquee tekken 7.mp4 Here are my settings in TP for each game. There is nothing there for resolution or anything else that would seem related, and both games have Windowed mode turned off. Some info on my machine: Windows 10 GeForce 1070 Ti Both monitors are set to 100% scaling in windows display settings, and "no scaling" in Nvidia Control panel. My main monitor is 3840x2160 (4k) and HDR. My digital marquee is 1920x1080 and not HDR. I'm adding a few videos just to show that the digital marquee also works with every other emulator I've thrown at it (PCSX2, MAME, Cemu, Dolphin, Project64, Redream) and Steam. Bouncing between HDR and different resolutions for all the other emulators doesn't seem to give it any problem. big box digital marquee mame.mp4 big box digital marquee redream.mp4 big box digital marquee steam.mp4 big box digital marquee pcsx2.mp4 I really appreciate any help! I've been sorting out the bugs of this cabinet for so long and this is one of the last issues I've yet to solve on my own. I'll be happy to answer any other questions about my set up. Thanks in advance!

  8. Hi, as much as I like the new default theme of Big Box 12.14 I noticed that my fans spin up wildly when I am using this theme (on its default settings). CPU usage is really high and temperature immediately goes up to over 75 degrees. Reverting to the "Default (old)" theme resolves the problem, CPU temperature back in the 50s again. The seems to be something really CPU heavy going on with this new theme. I am using Windows 10 on a Ryzen 5 Pro 2400G with Radeon Vega Graphics Anyone else noticed this?
  9. /edit feature request posted https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/7063/make-content-of-options-menu-configurable Is it possible to change the order of options in Big Box so that I get "ShutDown" as the very first item? Thanks!
  10. I would like to be able to replace the inside of a ps1 with a small computer and have it boot up with a video that looks just like the ps1 does when it is first turned on. Next, have it go directly into a full screen coverflow of my ps1 game collection. Is this possible with big box or a custom theme right now? Thank you!!!
  11. Big Box Revolution View File This is my first ever attempt at making a theme. It's based on the song select screen from Dance Dance Revolution 5th mix (with some elements from a few others for good measure). Since I couldn't quite match it exactly I split the difference between a text list view and a wheel view. Since it copies the overall style of the UI it's very busy looking while not giving quite as much info as most other themes do. This was by choice to mimic that early aughts design sensibility. To really give it an authentic touch, I changed the community ratings system to the old "foot rating" used for difficulty in DDR and changed the max from 5 to 10. It's the same rating multiplied by two. I'd love to get some feedback and maybe even make some improvements! It comes with a (freeware) font that you'll need to install. Created using y2guru's COMMUNITY Theme Creator. Submitter strizzuth Submitted 04/27/2020 Category Big Box Custom Themes
  12. Hi, I just realized that Big Box loses the gamepad functionality if I turn it off and then on or after entering sleep mode and then wake it up. Gamepad works as it should inside emulators and I don't remember failing like this in Big Box before. Anyone having the same problem? I've used the keyboard to see if its possible to map the gamepad buttons when this happens and the only button that worked is the "start" button, but maps it as something like "unknown". The rest of the buttons are like if they were not pressed. Thank you in advance!

  15. So I tried both manually adding, and dropping/dragging a few game shortcuts, They find them when searching for metadata. They launch/play just fine. but no matter what the art, box art. nothing shows up even after refreshing. what am I doing wrong? also, other topic Does big box mode support any kind of youtube, netflix, hulu or anything like that? I rather not use Kodi cause thats a hot mess to get going. one more question, does big box have a shortcut to end any game/program? even Pc games? In retrobat you can hold L + R + Start + Select to end any game that's running. thanks if you can help with some of this. Edit: I added a gif to show what happens.
  16. I'm trying to set up the Pause Menu in BigBox. I can activate it using my keyboard (I set it to the P key), but not my Xbox Series X controller. I tried setting it to the Share button, but nothing happens. I then tried setting it to Start+Back, but still nothing. However, the controller buttons I set are able to close the pause menu after it's open! This means it's just halfway working. I'm guessing it's some kind of window focus issue? Any solutions? BigBox is fully up-to-date, and I'm running on Windows 10.
  17. Good morning, finally i configure all the emus, videos, etc... but i want to finish my bartop with the big box at start up of windows. Is possible to start the pc and only view the big box mode ?? thanks a lot for your help
  18. I am using the Unified Redux theme. When a game is navigated to the Media for that game is not playing. For example, 19XX. A screenshot is attached. The replay video for this game never plays. Is it possible that I haven't downloaded the replay video? 1. Where are the replay videos stored? 2. How do I download these through Launchbox? 3. I have these already in HyperSpin. Can I just copy these over from HyperSpin, how are they named?
  19. Is there a way to prioritize Play over Select when they are mapped to the same key? This becomes a problem when using an Arcade control panel and the same Arcade button is mapped to both Select and Play,
  20. I've been watching tutorials and videos on this for 20 minutes and it just refuses to work for me. what i've done is gone into launchbox/videos first i just put the video in the root file (per the first tutorial from 2019 i watched), that didn't work. then i watched another that told me to rename it starup.mp4, and that didn't work. Then I came here and read that you have to put it in the Startup folder.....but there is no startup folder in my launchbox, and when i created one....well.... it didn't work. I know i'm missing a step in there somewhere. I just have no idea where.
  21. Hi all! I have been happily using LaunchBox for over a month now. I use Big Box mode for my stand-up CRT-based arcade machine (everything runs very low resolution; just the way I like it). Out of seemingly nowhere, I am now getting a lot of lag scrolling through games in Big Box mode. I have a pretty beefy machine (core i7 running at 4.2ghz, 24gb of RAM and an SSD). I am not sure what could have caused it. The only thing I did to my machine was add 2 AimTrak guns. I doubt that could be the cause (it doesn't even have software running in the background). I have pretty barebones for the skin (no marquees or graphics for the titles; just text. No background videos or anything!). Here, take a look: Nothing too crazy. Again the odd thing is that it worked absolutely fine a week ago. I could scroll through the list with lightning speed. Now, seemingly out of nowhere, it scrolls through the list with a pretty big lag. I am talking a good 1/20th of the speed it used to go through the list. If anybody has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. I would prefer to not delete my entire setup and start over because I had a lot of issues with LaunchBox doing things like showing me Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles (even though I told it to give North American games preference) and wonky Playchoice 10 entries amongst a few other things that I had to manually fix, so if I can fix this without starting from scratch, that would be awesome! Thank you!
  22. Hey! So I have my BigBox set up as a front-end for my Multicade, with numerous arcade titles to play, going so far as to add arcade music to the "Launchbox/Music/Background" folder so that it will shuffle through various arcade musics while the game screen is up. It works excellently and I even added album art and info for each game so it displays the song name, game it's from and who the artist is, along with a nice image of the game box art when a new song plays. To make sure the album art is retained for every song, I have each game's music in a different folder within the Background folder. It displays everything fine, but the issue I'm having is it's not shuffling the music, no matter how I set it up. Here's a better description of the problem: When I launch Big Box, it does select a random song, but afterwards it will sequentially play every song from that game (folder), before moving to the next game alphabetically and playing all the music from it as well. If I force it to next song with the BigBox binding, it will indeed select a random song, but afterwards will go back to playing them alphabetically. I have shuffle turned on in settings, but no matter what it won't actually shuffle them if I leave it sitting. It's annoying, as I want it to ideally shuffle every track together, while also retaining album art and info (if I stick them all in a folder together it will mess up the album art). Does anybody have any suggestions?
  23. I have 2 USB encoders (exact same type) connected to my PC. Each one has two rows (P1 and P2) and shows up in windows as 2 "game controllers", making a total of 4 "game controllers" showing up in windows. The problem I am encountering is that LaunchBox Big Box doesn't seem to differentiate between a button from one controller and the same "number" button on a different controller. For example if P1 joystick left is considered "button 1" on one of these controllers, while "button 1" on another controller is some other button, pressing either one will trigger whatever function is assigned to "button 1" in Big Box, causing a multitude of navigation control mapping issues. Is there a way to make LaunchBox see the different controllers as different controllers, like MAME does? Thanks.
  24. Hello, I put a bunch of custom music into the Music/Background folder for Big Box to play but it seems to want to keep coming back to the same song. It will usually play the same song when Big Box is first started and maybe play another song after but will keep cycling back to the same song and then usually looping it. Any idea how I can get around this or what's causing it? I have over 100 songs in the folder. Thanks!
  25. So I installed the 11.9 update then changed my theme to retro, then for some strange reason, when I exit an arcade game with the button I have mapped, the buttons and joystick will no longer respond until I use the KB to go into Big Box Options and go into the controller mappings section, then click esc a couple of times and it starts working again. Does anybody know what is causing this? I dont want to have to re-do everything again, I have approximately 4TB's worth games in there and dont want to go through the hassle of re-importing everything if I can avoid it. Everything was working until I did that. I should also mention I needed to delete the bigbox.xml file to get it to see my Aimtrak Lightgun again. It wouldn't pick up my cfg file. Once I deleted the XML file and re-opened big box the guns started working but then I noticed the bug, when I exitied my games. I have done this without the guns plugged in as well.
