This is the bezel set I created for use with vertically oriented monitors, and is the companion set for the Vertical Aspirations BigBox theme. The set includes the major consoles (*pre analog controls) NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega Master System, Atari 2600, etc, etc. Each Retroarch console has two Overlay Borders. One with bezel and one without. I did this so you can use something like the HSM Mega Bezel Reflection Shader with the overlay if you are so inclined. I've noticed the shader is a little resource hungry so I've included the bezel versions here in case that shader slows your system down too much. If your system is fast enough. I highly recommend using the HSM shader. I have also included in the set, per-game bezels for Vectrex that utilize the overlays that were included in the physical games as well as several per game bezels for Intellevision that include the physical overlays that were included with the games for use with the game pads. (see below) This is nice so you can see what controls do what for the game you are playing. I may create a set like this for ColecoVision in the future. There is also a generic MAME Bezel I've included in the folder created by Chad Wedlake from his youtube channel. All the console bezels in this folder are derivative of his MAME bezels. As with the Vertical Aspirations BigBox theme, you'll need to be running Windows in portrait mode for these to be of any use to you. *At this point I'm not considering making bezels for newer generation consoles that use analog sticks on the controllers. This set was built with Arcade Cabinets in mind that do not typically use analog stick controls.

  3. I know how to add the handheld border shaders through RetroArch like the GBA one which was included in RetroArch's initial download or shader update here: I find it much more enjoyable playing like this. Though I want to be able to add ones that I have downloaded like this Atari Lynx one: Problem is it does not have a .cfg file, it just came with the following:The .ini just has the following information in it: I know the short answer to this would just be to create a .cfg file, but I have tried and not succeeded. Has anyone done this before and if so would someone be so kind as to walk through it together and then hopefully others may benefit from it too. I have searched but have not found any tutorials or discussion detailing exactly this. Also, one more question. For systems that one may be using the same core like gambatte_libretro.cfg for the GB and GBC but wish to have different custom configure in order to have a different handheld border shader if you copy your gambatte_libretro.cfg in the RA config folder and name it to something like gambatte2_libretro.cfg will it show up in the RA UI options? Thank you in advance.
  4. I've been working on a few border-overlays (bezels) and thought I would share them with the community! All overlays are intended for a 16:9 format using the core provided system aspect ratio in RetroArch. Adjust the opacity to your liking. These should work fine in Launchbox, but I haven't tested this as I have only ever used RetroArch to display overlays. For those interested, I use Solid12345's excellent analog shader pack (#3) for scan line filtering. You can find this pack over on the RetroArch forums. You can check out the filters and borders in action by clicking on the images below for my uploaded videos . Secret of Mana I loved staring at the box and cart art when I was a kid. I found a high quality scan and decided it would make a nice border! Final Fantasy VI (III) This is a tribute to Yoshitaka Amano's art. I used his Chibi versions of most of the game characters. I decided to make this border functional by adding Sabin's blitz combinations (SNES versions) in the right side border. It looks fine on my 60" LCD, but may look a little cluttered on smaller displays. The Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past Another artist tribute. Shotaro Ishinomori's LTTP comic was originally serialized in Nintendo Power, it was reprinted in 2015. As a seminal nostalgia piece I picked it up and highly recommend to any collector (The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Amazon $17.99). Scans and touch-up coloring done by myself. I have more planned, and will post them as they are completed. Thanks for letting me share!
