Hello everyone, I am new to LaunchBox and the community and I would like to ask for some help. So as you can read in the title I want to try to run some old game I still have the original CD from 2000 and up for Windows 95 and higher. And a game I tried to run is Venom Codename Outbreak by GSC Game World and I think I do something wrong so maybe someone can help me I would really appreciate it! So I check if the game was in the database of LaunchBox and yes it is and even on EMO Movies since LaunchBox ask me if I want to download metadata and images for it. And I try two ways first I install it manual from my PC by click on tools and import. And the the second way was create a short cut and then just drag and drop the short cut in to LaunchBox. The process was on both ways similar. But when I start it, it first runs good, the intro is playing with sound but then when the intro is done you should enter the Main Menu of the Game but in my case it crash or something else and I get this message: And After I close it this message also come's up: So I want to ask do make something wrong because I thing I do not add a emulator to it or maybe I done some thing by the import wrong. Maybe someone has a guide or a video for how to run old PC games for windows 95 and higher or down on LaunchBox. It would really help me a lot. And sorry for my question I just start LaunchBox Today for the first time in my life and I don't have experience with emulator. Thanks for everyone who want to help me in my situation. I really appreciate it!

I'm playing a windows game that only works if the game cd is in my d-drive. I don't have a cd drive but I have the iso file which I have to click on to mimic a cd in a d-drive (I believe that is what's called mounting) just to play the game. Is there a way for launchbox to automatically mount the cd when I click on the game in launchbox and eject when I'm done? I know dos games have a feature to mount cd's but it doesn't seem to work for windows games. It's not a big deal, just an extra step just to play the game that I'm hoping LB can streamline. My biggest fear is if I forget to "eject" the iso image from my d-drive and leave it in there, I'm worried the file might get corrupted if left in there when I do something such as shut down my computer; although I don't remember being a kid and ruining cd's by leaving them in the computer.

Hey Everyone. What's up? I go by RetroKenesis. Some of you may know me from either Box packs or bezels I have floating on the internet...I think I've even saw an unfinished TurboGrafx-16 Box set of mine in the database lol. Anyways, I just wanted to say hello, and let you guys know that I want to start sharing the media that I create here. I think launchbox is a great front end, and feel it deserves great media too! Here is a look at my current project. Unlicensed and Protos will also be included in the final release. And when this project is done, I will finish the TurboGrafx-16 project that I started a few years back Thanks for your time!

I enjoy this app immensely, but I recently encountered a problem. I have been running Warcraft 2 in DOSbox before I installed Launchbox and there was never any problems playing from the ISO. I had the mount macros input into the options file: mount c f:\Games\Emulation\DOSBox-0.74\Games\ mount e e:\ -t cdrom and DOSbox would always find the CD-image. Now, for some reason, Warcraft 2 can't seem to recognize the image anymore if I launch the game from Launchbox. However, if I go to my old DOSbox folder manually, it still works without any problems and the game plays off of the ISO just fine. If I launch the same game through Launchbox, the cd image is just not registered at all. Then I saw that there was a different, alternate DOSbox folder within the Launchbox folder itself, and I was thinking that maybe Launchbox was using that one instead, so I figured there was simply no mount macro in the options file for that one. But (a little strangely, since I never copied it myself) there actually was! The exact same commands were listed in that options file as well. So even if it was using that DOSbox location, it still should have worked. Any pointers?

Here's an odd question (and I am impressed with LaunchBox)... can this software detect or at least start a CD game by launching the appropriate software for the CD? For example, say I want to play Assault Rigs from the PS1. Would I have to start the emulation manually, or can it detect the PS1 code? I prefer CD emu vs ripping them
