  1. Hi all, Recently bought a logitech g29, working perfectly with my emulators etc. However when in bigbox the selection wheel of emulators constantly turns. I can stop this by half pressing on the pedels of the steering wheel. But surely thats not right? Anybody else had this? Anyway to resolve this? TIA
  2. Hello, I am hoping someone can tell me what is going on here with LEDBlinky. I have LEDBlinky set up with MAME/LB. But for unknown reasons LEDBlinky will not speak or light the correct controls or flash the coin and start buttons(when coined up). I have LEDBlinky configured correctly as far as I can tell. I can see my startup animation, my exit animation, and my single frame for active animation. It just will not light the controls during the game or speak the controls. It will light the controls briefly when speaking the game name. What it does do though, is keep the front end buttons lit like the FE is active. I have also tried messing with the Game Start Delay timer on the Game Options tab but that doesn't fix the issue. NOTE: The same exact thing happens in Bigbox as well. It appears to me that maybe LB is telling LEDBlinky to stop the game early? MAME version: 0.223 Launchbox 11.3 (happens in 11.2 as well) I have two short videos at the end showing what is happening. Here is the MAME output, I thought it would show the LED's turning on or off but it doesn't. Start MAME or MAME32.   3. Hi all, just purchased a LaunchBox premium license and am busy configuring it with my MAME arcade ROM collection. I’m looking for help with how to display which controls are used for each game (buttons/joystick/trackball.) For example, when someone chooses Donkey Kong, I want an image to show on the screen with the joystick and button used for player 1 & player 2. I’m happy to create these images for each game for my custom controls layout, but just not sure how to get them to display. Any help is greatly appreciated! thanks Pasqual

  5. Hello, I am very new to LaunchBox, but I am wanting to use it as a frontend for rhythm games, specifically the Beatmania series and Taiko no Tatsujin (running through PCSX2). On my computer I have Beatmania controllers and taiko drum controllers plugged in but I can't figure out how to change the controls on a per game base. I currently have a mapping that works for all the Beatmania games but would like a separate mapping for use with the taiko drums within taiko no tatsujin. I don't know if this will involve running a script when the game is launched to recognize the new control scheme or if there is a way to edit within the games. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

  7. [Edit: SOLVED (sort of) - see my reply below. Warning: Registry editing involved, high risk variable] This is a question for folks that have experience setting up BigBox as their startup shell, either through regedit, group policy, or other third-party methods. After I set BigBox to my shell variable in regedit, I was pleased to see that it booted directly in, but I quickly discovered that I had lost keyboard control of my volume, and that JoytoKey (in my startup folder) was not working for the one game I have it configured for (Pokemon Uranium). I dug around in the forums and only found one link that even partially referenced my startup program issue near the end of the thread, but there didn't seem to be an answer (or at least a clear enough one for me to follow). My guess is that since explorer.exe isn't running as the default shell, it doesn't run certain services related to it, like volume control via keyboard, startup folder items, etc. Has anyone else run into this issue, and if so, how did you resolve it? Is there some way I can enable services that are native to the default shell to run with BigBox? Thanks in advance for any help or advice regarding this issue!
  8. Sega model 2 emulator has a bunch of great shooting games that work with a mouse or light gun. And the system allows you to configure the controls from within the game, but once you pick a game that is a shooter it hijacks the mouse to use within the game. How the heck do you configure the controls when you cant use the mouse to go to the controls menu and you definitely cant double click to configure a new key. Please help. Thanks.
  9. Hi everyone, I am having some difficulties with getting my X-Arcade Tankstick to work in BigBox. I have not long converted from Hyperspin, where the X-Arcade was self explanatory and a breeze. Though, unfortunately I am not finding it so here. I have gone to BigBox > Options > Controller > and ticked "Enable Game Controllers" and "Use All Controllers". Where it says "Device:" there is nothing there. Is that because these options only apply to an actual game-pad controller instead of the X-Arcade which is mapped as a keyboard? If so, does that mean in the options I do not worry about "Controller Buttons" but just "Keyboard Mappings" instead? Also, regarding controls, using Nestopia as an example. I have gotten to the stage with BigBox where I can launch Nestopia full-screen into a chosen game but have no idea how to exit out of the emulator back into BigBox. Is someone able to point me in the right direction? Because at least to me it certainly is not obvious how (I am probable just a doofus). I have found other topics in the forum here about the X-Arcade from years ago but there were of little help as they were from a time where LaunchBox/BigBox seemed to not have compatibility issues with the X-Arcade? Thank you in advanced.
  10. Seems like when I fix something another problem occurs. I just went to play a two player game on the SEGA Megadrive through RetroArch and the controls magically screwed up on their own as I certainly did not attempt to change anything. What has happened is in the input menu for player 1 and 2 at the very top where it normally says RetroPad, or gives the option for it, that is no longer an option. The controls work for player 1 but the buttons do not work for player 2 and player 2's d-pad also controls player 1's d-pad. I tried the NES and RetroPad is an option in RA's input options but it makes no difference as it is doing exactly as I described for the SEGA Megadrive. What the hell is going on?! Has anyone has this happen before. I deleted my config files for RA in the main directory and started RA back up again, but no difference. I am giving up for the night as I am too frustrated as I have been trying for nearly an hour to no avail but if anyone would be kind enough to shed some light if they know it would be greatly appreciated.
  11. I don't seem to have any of the issues anyone else is having, but I cannot get the controls to work for steering on Mario Kartkart DX. I am using an ipac controller on my arcade which is KB inputs, so I have to use direct input. I tried with the steering axis checked and unchecked. I go to input mapping and set everything up. I start the game and my buttons work but not steering. It doesn't make sense. Does anyone know how to get the steering working via kb?
  12. So, I'm trying to get my tankstick set up with MAME so that NEO GEO games use a different config from other games. I see this is already built into the X-arcade.cfg file I put in the ctrlr directory a while ago, but I realize it is looking for a 'neogeo' system. Right now, I don't think this is set up, since it is currently not formatted according to what it says. Right now, it's using "Ctrl, Alt, Space, X", but I want to use "C, Shift, Z, X" as seen in the X-Arcade.cfg. How do I define what games are part of the 'neogeo' system in mame as displayed in X-Arcade.cfg?
  13. Hi im pretty new to this but got a few emulators up and running fine but im having difficulties with sega saturn through retroarch using mednfen core. Some game controls just work but others do not recognise the pad or even keyboard touches???? Anyone help me out please. Is there anyway retroarch is disabling my controls????
  14. Hi Guys, Can anyone recommend some good Steam games that play well on an arcade cabinet with Big Box? I'm looking for games that are simple to launch and play with minimal setup and operate just like an emulated arcade game or Taito Type-X machine. They run, press start, choose amount of players then play...no B.S. options etc. Additionally they will easily quit to Big Box with a hotkey (ALT-F4). I have a standard 2P layout with 6 buttons each + start, exit and 2 player select buttons Cheers
  15. How do i map a ps4 controller so that one of the buttons will exit the emulator and return to Big Box. Nothing i set in the menu controller mapping seems to do the trick.
  16. Is there a program or a good guide or something to help create a controller.cfg file something they did for xarcade? I am having issues with MAME and was thinking maybe if could make this might just help override all the default MAME stuff.
