  1. Hello, To clarify my question I want to launch an arcade rom through Retroarch but use a different core than what I usually use. For example the rom I want to launch is the 6-player version of X-Men Arcade and the core I usually run with all my arcade roms is mame2016, but because of screen issues I want to run X-Men with the basic mame core. This is what the game looks like running mame2016: and this is what it looks like running mame: I want it to look like the second image and the only way to do so is to run the basic mame core. So my question is that is it possible to launch X-Men with the basic mame core through LaunchBox while still being able to launch all my other arcade roms with the mame2016 core? Thank in advance!
  2. Using the same idea as @le_el ( this post ), I modified the code to split the main core and the info file, and all new cores have yours own options. Ideal to use a different shaders/overlays/remaps/overrides for each system. Instruction: Windows Place the two files in “cores” folder and run the .bat. The main core and the info file will be splitted. If run the .bat again, the splitted files will be recreated. Android (by @le_el) Copy from /data/data/com.retroarch/cores/ and /data/data/com.retroarch/info/ (you may need root), and put on somefolder\cores\ and somefolder\info. Run the .bat from inside the somefolder\cores\ folder and it will do it’s job. Then put back the new files from both folders back into/data/data/com.retroarch/cores/ and /data/data/com.retroarch/info/ (again, you may need root). If the Android’s retroarch can allow to change the core/info folder to the sdcard or main memory, it should be easier and avoid the need of root. Thanks, @le_el, for your method and, @RetroFans, for testing. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SEGA SYSTEMS --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Genesis Plus GX - GN | CD | GG | MS | SG Windows - Download Android - Download --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PicoDrive - GN | CD | 32X | MS Windows - Download Android - Download --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gearsystem - MS | GG Windows - Download Android - Download --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reicast - DC | NM Windows - Download Android - Download --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NINTENDO SYSTEMS --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mesen - NES | NFC | FDS Windows - Download Android - Download The custom palette “MesenPalette” is the same for all cores. 3. In RetroArch I use the M keyboard key to bring up the core menu. In works in all other tested cores but not here. It is set in this core as well has anyone ever seen this happen before?
  4. Hello, I know that Lanchbox has a feature for changing the emulator on the fly at launch. But is there anyway to change the core per launch? Some of my n64 and psx games run better with different cores, it would be awesome if i could change them on the fly as well.
  5. Name: What Retroarch SNES core is right for you ? Category: Tutorials Date Added: 2016-08-18 Submitter: lordmonkus There are many SNES cores in Retroarch and knowing which to use can be confusing. This video is just my opinion and recommendation on which SNES core you should be using. What Retroarch SNES core is right for you ?
  6. I had to redo my retroarch and the Mame core is now 0.188. Is there anywhere I can go to get the 0.187 core? Thank you.
  7. I have always used a single configuration for all back-up CORE in my bartop, but only with regard to SEGA Genesis, I feel the need to change the button setting. With the change of backward versions, you have also changed how to remake the buttons (at least it looks like this) With version 1.5, what is the correct procedure for changing keyboard layout with Genesis Core (or anything else), then can you use it by booting everything from launchbox?
  8. So this has been driving me crazy for way too long. All i want is for my various arcade systems to display their system specific overlays when running a rom. I want my CPS1 one games to use the CPS1 overlay, the CPS2 games to use the CPS2 overlay, the Konami classics to use their Konami Classics overlay, etc. Ill try to explain what I have done but maybe I am doing something wrong that is keeping this from working. I load up launchbox and click on manage emulators. First off I do have an "Arcade" category that covers all of my games. This is using the mame_libretro core. My parameters for this Associated Platform are: -L "cores\mame_libretro -c "config\mame_libretro.cfg" with the default box checked. This works all fine and great and I can use the MAME overlay and shaders with no problem. When I create an Associated Platform Capcom Play System with the Default Command Line Parameters set to -L "cores\fbalpha2012_cps1_libretro.dll" -c "config\fbalpha2012_cps1_libretro.cfg" with the Default Emulator box checked Launchbox continues to open Retroarch with the mame-libretro core. This also happens no matter what order I change in the Default Emulator boxes between the mame core and the fbalpha 2012 cps1 core. Also, I get the same outcome when I setup the CPS2 and CPS3 cores. The only way I can get Retroarch to fire up if I select to play a cps1 game is if I change the Default Line Parameters for Arcade under the Associated Platform column in the Manage Emulators menu to the fb alpha parameters. Another thing that I find weird is that if I open retroarch, load up a core, and then load the config file for that core the application closes down. Not sure if this is normal. I would love any help, if possible. I tried to include as much information as I could in this post to help further a solution. The only thing that I have not tried is deleting all of my games within Launchbox and then re-importing each platform individually and setting up their parameters, rather than importing them all as just a general Arcade category using one MAME core to run them all.
  9. Hi! I`m pretty new in Launchbox, and I love it. Today I was testing some graphical things with Crash Bandicoot of PSX, and LB did`t load must of my configurations (load some), that was weird, beacuse I launched RA as a standalone and their where there... I may clarify this, I used the -L "cores\mednafen_psx_libretro.dll" -c "config\mednafen_psx_libretro.cfg" command... So where did I drop the ball? Sorry, my english could be a little rusted and as I said before, I'm a noobie in LB. Thanks in advance!
  10. Hello all, First off, LOVE the work being done here. Just bought my premium license an hour ago. Best purchase I have made in quite some time. That being said, I have an issue it seems (which is saying something because I have been using this for a few days solid with no issues, speaks volumes to the stability of the program and tutorial support out there if you ask me). I am trying to remap my Xbox 360 controller for Windows to a set of buttons per core. For example, I would love to remap my buttons for CPS-1 and CPS-2 games in a manner which is more in line with the majority of fighting games they deal with. Now, I CAN set the buttons up of course, under "Settings>Input>Input User 1 Binds" and that will, naturally, bind my buttons in game. The problem is that is also binds them in the retroarch menu and I like a different set of buttons for my controller there. Now, in some cores, like "bsnes_balanced_libretro.dll" or "mednafen_pce_fast_libretro.dll" for example, there is an option to set controls per core under "Quick Menu>Controls". This is awesome and has made gaming on those cores a lot more enjoyable. However, this option is not under the "Quick Menu" tab on cores for the CPS-1, CPS-2 and NeoGeo. Is this by design? Is it just not implemented on the menu? Is there a way for me to get that functionality, even manually if need be? I saw one post on these forums about something similar but it did not seem to be the exact same problem so that is why I am writing this. Thanks for any and all help in advance!
