  1. Hi guys Every time that I go thru Menu/Tools/Option the desktop app crash. Does anyone else have this issue or know how to solve that? Thanks!
  2. Been using launchbox consistently for the past 2 weeks until today, it immediately prompts Launchbox.exe- Application Error - The exception unknown software exception (0xe0434352) occurred in the application at location 0x00007ffd82603B29, reinstalled and restarted computer, still no luck
  3. Hi, Just encountered the below : Could not load file or assembly 'System.Xml, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. The module was expected to contain an assembly manifest. App: LaunchBox Version: 10.15 Type: System.BadImageFormatException Site: Void .ctor(System.String) Source: Unbroken.LaunchBox.Windows at Unbroken.LaunchBox.Windows.Graphing..ctor(String path) at Unbroken.LaunchBox.Windows.Desktop.App..ctor() at (String[] ) at Unbroken.LaunchBox.Windows.Desktop.Program.Main(String[] args) Recent Log: 8:40:35 AM Exception Launchbox previously running fine, did bios update and windows had a few moments booting back up but everything else works fine just not launchbox. I have tried a new install and to another directory with no luck. Tried direct x June 2010 reinstall and no fix. Any help would be appreciated!
  4. Hey, I've been using this program for a while, and LOVE the heck out of it. I have had a sort of odd experience, though. The drive I had my setup on was getting corrupted, I moved the setup to a different drive, and now the program just refuses to start. Any ideas will be useful. More info provided as needed. Almost forgot: I created a blank install of the program in the same directory I placed the one that's crashing, and that one works fine. EDIT: I figured out the issue, the executable files were damaged. I overwrote them with good files, and everything works. Now to get on to trying to get it to be the way I want (I had edited it a lot, and lost the place where it felt 'right').
  5. I downloaded NullDC and played some of my ROMs with it and all worked just fine. I then imported NullDC to Launchbox and after I did that, i cant get the emulator to work. When I Launch a game now, it gets to the sega screen, and then it crashes. I get the " NullDC has stopped working" message. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the emulator and running it without launchbox, still the same problem oddly. Very frustrating! Im not sure if this is a launchbox issue, But i do know that I started getting these problems when i first imported it to LB.
  6. I have been running Launchbox through Big Box at start up since I built my machine in January. Today, my girlfriend and her father played it and it ran fine. I go to turn it on and Big Box crashes about halfway through the name of it and the start up sound. No error, nothing, it just stops working. Launchbox works fine. I tried uninstalling launchbox, and reinstalling. I've tried turning the whole machine off and on. There are no background apps running. I'm stumped. I read through the forums and found people asking about this and am not having much luck with their solutions. Maybe I'm missing some files I need to delete then reinstall, I don't know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  7. Hey Guys, Im pretty stumped.. If I click on my NES header in BigBox for any reason I crash and get an error. I get a Value cannot be null. Parameter name: key since updating to 9.10. Works fine in Launch box tho? Posted a couple screenshots and put them on imgur as well in case quality is not good enough here. https://imgur.com/a/AgamNX7
  8. Hey there everyone. Im having an issue that has been raised several times on several boards and forums but i never really found a proper answer to it. If this topic already exists here and i just haven't found it, feel free to pint me in the right direction and close / delete this thread Im using the basic MAME emulator (64bit) from MAME.net and everything used to work fine in LaunchBox up until 2-3 updates ago. Starting a game over LaunchBox gives me a black screen and a basic Windows error message that "MAME isn't working anymore and has to be closed". Launching MAME outside of LaunchBox on its own works perfectly fine. Some suggestions i already took care of, that didn't solve the problem: -Setting up the ROM directory in MAME itself to point at the same target as LaunchBox -Using the suggested command line commands (-skip_gameinfo -nowindow) -ROM Set matches the Emulator As for the importing process, i left the checkmarks to *not* import clones, mahjong and all that jazz. Iirc the basic settings for the MAME import process. The emulator settings are largely left untouched apart from the ROM directory and controls. I hope someone might know the silly little thing i overlooked ^^ Thanks in advance !
  9. When I click a certain Windows game I get an error saying Invalid characters in path and LaunchBox crashes. I can't even right-click the game to edit or delete it without getting the error. It worked fine last time I played it and I didn't change anything. The game still works with the Windows shortcut. Here are the details of the error: Illegal characters in path. 10. Hi mates - Thankyou in advance for examining my issue, I really appreciate it. After the most recent update (beta 15) the mouse became sticky and laggy intermittently when using desktop mode. With a few days Desktop mode and Next mode ceased working altogether although Big Box worked perfectly, I decided to roll back to 8.3 and thankfully I am up and running again but unfortunately the mouse lag issue has persisted. This fault is unique to this program as I have not experienced it elsewhere. Needless to say any help solving these issues would be truly wonderful - cheers.
  11. Hello, it seems that all the executables are crashing with the latest versions. I am using Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 1607 and running from a network share. With version 7.x it ran without problems. I have tested also on Windows 10 Pro 1709 and seems to work fine (also from network share). Any suggestions ? Thank you.
  12. Hello People - Nice community forums ! I have been cracking my skull for the past week with problems exiting Emulators on Big Box, some of them work fine, others like PPSSPP just crash the Big Box on exit. I try everything I was able to search on the forums and at the end I think I found the cause and temporary solution: Possible cause: The Crash happens when using Big Box Auto Controller Automation method, but this do not happens when using the same feature on LaunchBox or when using the "esc" key on the keyboards... only on Big Box using the controller automation (X-Box 360 Controller). Temporary Solution: After trying almost everything I disabled Controller Automation on Big Box (OPTIONS), end up installing Xpader and configure the program to get "esc" output from the controller by pressing Select + Play Button.
  13. After updating to 7.11-16 CEMU (1.9.1) crashes as soon as it attempts to load the game. The game can be launched manually through the emulator fine. It doesn't seem to be a problem with the command line switches "-f & -g", because I can launch the emulator and game fine through a command prompt. I believe this is a Launchbox issue because everything seems to work outside of Launchbox. Can anyone try to replicate this issue?
  14. Whenever I launch any game in Launchbox, all Crash Bandicoot games, I get sent immediately to a black screen with no sound. I've followed the tutorials on youtube from the Launchbox channel and another tutorial which was the second video when i searched 'retroarch ps1 blackscreen'. I've followed every step and have the bios in correctly I made cue files from the iso for each game and haven't had any luck. I will be happy to provide screenshots of anything requested and any help would be graciously appreciated since I told myself at 3pm EST " I'll just set up the PS1 emulator and then go shower", thinking it would be as easy as Dolphin, I still haven't showered.
  15. So I've used retroarch with a ps3 controller and got tired of scrolling through the cores and menus to get to games. I want to use Launchbox as a 1-click solution, but everytime I click play in Launchbox it says Retroarch has stopped working and error window freezes. My cores match in associated platforms and Retroarch loads find outside of Launchbox
  16. I'm running into a problem here. Whenever I try to launch Big Box on my PC, it starts the whole "Initializing Big Box" speech but then it stops midway through and crashes. I then get a pop-up window that says "A problem has caused Big Box to stop working correctly." and only gives me the option to close program. Using Launchbox is fine; only Big Box crashes. I have Launchbox version 7.10 on Windows 10 Creator's Update. Can someone please help me out with this? Thanks in advance!
  17. I have a problem with BigBox and Demul when quit from dreamcast games. Quit Work fine , the problem is that when I quit Demul with combo that by default use launchbox, the software fails to return to launchbox. Launchbox closes but if we press CTRL + ALT + Delete the bigBOX processes are still open. What can it be ?
  18. This did not happen on a previous 1.4.1 setup. I have savestate set to hotkey activation such that on my XB1 controller, holding down the right stick activates hotkeys and d-pad down saves state. With a game loaded on mupen64plus core only, this crashes Retroarch immediately. Changing savestate slot and loading do not do this. I have tried experimenting with the keyboard commands and get the same behavior. I'll try backing up one more copy of the 1.4.1 directory contents to see if this repeats (a previous 1.4.1 install had different issues). Any known issues?
  19. Hey guys, first of all let me congratulate you on LaunchBox, absolutely great front-end, it has won me over completely. For the past couple of weeks I have been working tirelessly to find a solution to lazy couch gaming using emulators and it seems that BigBox is ticking almost every box. There is only one real problem that persists now, whenever I press the home button on my PS4 controller, the steam overlay will *sometimes* pop up, not all the time though, when it does it is super slow and laggy sometimes freezing BigBox altogether forcing me to launch task manager. Because I want to use this with my Steam Link it would be ideal to have this problem fixed, just wondering if anyone had any ideas? Thanks! By the way this only seems to happen when on the main screen of BigBox, while using an emulator it seems to work as expected.
  20. LaunchBox works fine with my Logitech F710 controller (detected as "Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 USB"). However, when I switch to BigBox, it works fine with a keyboard, but the moment I configure BigBox to use the Logitech controller, the system hangs with just the text "Arcade" shown at the top left and the rest of the screen blank. The only way to get out of this is to bring up task manager and kill the BigBox process. Any ideas anyone ? I'm running launchbox/bigbox 7.4
  21. I'm trying to delete my full arcade collection because I do not like the way I imported the games (too many clones), I cannot do it because launchbox hangs up when I try to select all games inside arcade and press del. Is there another way to delete all games inside arcade? I tried to delete the arcade.xml but the archive keeps creating itself again when I enter launchbox and the games are still there, it's like magic... Any ideas?
  22. crash occurs randomly for no apparent reason and closes out of big box
