  3. As I've been adding my MAME ROMs into my LaunchBox collection, I've noticed that EmuMovies has given me "Controller Info" images, most of which show a standard button panel with the various default button mappings labeled. I've attached one of those and also a lightgun example image as well. The main reason why I'm posting is: what do people actually do with these kinds of things? I know you can display overalys in MAME when in-game, but I'm not sure if there's really any easy way to display a particular game's controls. Ideally I'd like to be able to flash something up on screen for X number of seconds when that game is started, so you can easily tell what the controls are, or have a button or hotkey you can press to display the controls in a nice manner. Does anybody on here use these or other images / text to help the end-user with MAME controls?
  4. I'm fine with doing this, even though it's a depressing experience with all the wait timers and such.. But I'm just curious if LaunchBox supports a method of finding and downloading the relevant game video snaps (the videos that play for each game) automatically? Emumovies process is arduous as it goes like this: Click download button See list of files Click 3 that you want (after ctrl+f to find the games you need) As soon as one file starts downloading, it closes the file list and you have to scroll back to the top to start again Rinse and repeat. I've almost finished my N64 set of video snaps, but I'm dreading doing this for all my games. Is there a better way? Thanks! PS: I know you can pay to remove the download limits and such, but I'm a chronic pain sufferer and unable to work as a result, so I really don't have the money to do this (otherwise I would gladly support them). Please don't take this as a complaining thread, it's far from it. I just want to see if i'm missing something obvious. If this feature doesn't exist, maybe it could be a feature request?
  5. Greetings, I have a lifetime supporter license on EmuMovies and an expired license on LaunchBox. I tried to download HQ media for a MAME set and its taking forever. I did a speed test on LaunchBox v9.1 and EmuMovies Sync v2.53. Theres a big difference in speeds. For example, I tested "Mushihime-Sama Futari Black Label: Another Ver" HQ video. Through the task manager, I can observe that the download speed on launchbox is 2 Mbps and on EmuMovies Sync it reached 40 Mbps (my ISP speed). Is there a fix in later versions or a workaround for this issue without doing it manually? The only reason I bought a Lifetime Supporter license on emumovies was to take advantage of the speed. I read on launchbox front page both were partners, so this shouldn't be an issue. Thanks
  6. I recently installed 12.1 and noticed that none of my platforms or games had video snaps downloaded. They still download when done one at a time, but when adding a brand new system or trying to download in bulk, the videos are not downloaded from Emumovies. I am a lifetime member of both Emumovies and Launchbox, and to troubleshoot the issue, I even installed an old copy of 11.10 that I had on a backup drive, and it (11.10) downloads the video snaps from Emumovies without a fuss when adding new systems or in bulk. I'm not sure what the problem could be. Right now my plan is to block updates on 11.10, download everything and get everything setup then update to 12.1. Any clarification on why this is happening, or how I could fix it, would be greatly appreciated.
  7. Not sure if it's a new API issue from EmuMovies, or a change in how it's handled in Launchbox, but I am getting spotty use when it comes to downloading media. Sometimes when scraping it will say EmuMovies is not configured, so I will have to back out, go into the settings, and hit Test Connection (my details are already still populated in User and PW. It tells me connection works, so I try again and it works as intended. sometimes will keep working through other scrapes, but then at some point it will revert back to saying it's not configured and I'll have to repeat the process. Maybe the API times out at a certain point? I'm on the latest (non-beta) version and full support for both Launchbox and EmuMovies. Anyone else seeing this?
  8. With my arcade setup, it is always great to be able to look at some gameplay footage prior to selecting my games. What tends to annoy me is that a great chunk of my gameplay videos in the arcade section (might be some in other sections) have these theme videos that show up on almost every arcade game I have on there. Is there any way to easily replace these sort of videos with just normal gameplay snaps? The picture attached is what I refer to as a game theme video; basically overlays over game footage. I'd like to do without that.
  9. Is it normal for Launchbox/BigBox to take 24+ hours to download art from EmuMovies? (Importing full MAME set) Is there a problem at EMUMovies? Should I reboot? Seems to be really excessive, also getting occasional errors like -
  10. I have all the Snes roms (No-Intro) renamed as they are in the Hyperspin XML DB (807 total). When I import the roms from Launchbox and check the Emumovies option (videos HQ), I only care about 300 videos when they should be at least 807. Why does this happen?
  11. Hey All, I've set up BigBox/Launchbox with my emumovies credentials. I don't have a premium emumovies account as I wanted to see something working first. I chose the option to download all metadata - artwork and movies from emumovies... but nothing shows in any of the previews. Am I missing something? Do I need to first subscribe as a paid member to emumovies (which I'm happy to do so). Thanks in advance. Hass
  12. Hey guys, new member here. Just starting with Launchbox and want to say how awesome this project is, the ease of management for large game collections is amazing. I have a Launchbox Premium account and Emumovies basic account that is already set up in Launchbox and tested ok. I've been following this tutorial here: To get the video previews for some games that I imported for SNES. The matching seems to be ok, since launchbox finds a DB ID for the game, but when I go to the EmuMovies tab I get no option to download videos, only images. I'm attaching a screenshot of the issue for Battletoads VS Double Dragon but it's happening on all titles I've imported (all SNES). Hmm, actually I'm trying other platforms and no vids there either. Is a supporter account in EmuMovies needed for this? I see they mention videos being supporter only in EmuMovies Sync but then the tutorial and even the EmuMovies site itself says basic accounts should have access to SD videos.
  13. I am trying to download game clips (videos) from EmuMovies. I thought in the past that there was an video option under the Download Metadata and Media Wizard window. However, video download doesn't seem to be an option. Am I missing something?
  14. When searching for media, The Game Database almost never fails to find a match. EmuMovies, on the other hand, occasionally fails to find a match. My question is, what string is being used to search EmuMovies? Is it the game Title? I'd like to know so I can try editing the name (i.e. removing special characters, etc.) to see if it helps to return a match.
  15. There are massive Bigbox collections on youtube showing 100's of platforms, all of them having HD platform videos. However, emumovies seems to be lacking platform videos for many uncommon systems that I'm looking for (Nuon, MSU-1, ect). Am I looking in the wrong place on the site, or is there some other big source for platform videos?
  16. Greetings all, So i left LaunchBox on overnight to download metadata. It completed and it appears all images and movies were downloaded. What I am seeing now though is that I cannot connect to EmuMovies from LaunchBox this morning. Anyone else have this issue? Details: I have rebooted the PC in case there was an issue there. I have logged into EmuMovies manually and the Username/Password are accepted. I have updated the Username/Password in LaunchBox. I am a Lifetime EmuMovies subscriber so I should have no limit cap, and I have been so for over a year. I can access the EmuMovies FTP site with no issues. Any help would be appreciated.
  17. Hey Guys, So I notice that if there is a colon in the Launchbox Database Title for a game, the game is usually not found at EmuMovies preventing the game video from being downloaded. Anybody else having this problem or have a workaround? I know I can go get the video and match it up, but I was trying to streamline the process so I do not have to do this. Examples: The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD Dissidia: 012 Final Fantasy Any help would be appreciated. RetroScott
  18. My BB setup is pretty great these days, and most everything has movies. However, Sega Saturn is largely missing movies. Using the "Download Metadata and Media" doesn't seem to pull in the movie files from EmuMovies when operating in bulk, even with all the options checked. I can see in the status bar it seems to be looking for them, but nothing ends up downloading. If I go into the individual games, the movie files will show up and can be downloaded. I would prefer not to do this individually for each game. Am I missing anything, or is there a bug in the system?
  19. Having an issue with Lauchbox 7.11 and it not connecting to the EmuMovies database to download media and images. I have tested that I can log into the site and through the ftp just fine. I'm a lifetime member of emumovies. Any help would be great. Thanks.
  20. Has anyone noticed certain emumovies downloads hanging? I've been trying to add small amounts of games at a time, and every 20 or so games, a certain one will just hang for up to five minutes (either downloading a video or music). Eventually, it produces an error, and the rest of the content goes through, but I wish there was a way to skip these troublesome downloads slowing the whole process. Any ideas?
  21. Trying to update movies, etc. for my Launchbox setup (especially since I wiped out my roms from LB completely by accident). I still have my roms on my HD but gone from my LB. Anyway, logged into Emumovies on the website but in LB it can't connect. Anyone else have this problem?
  22. I can login into site just fine after changing my password but through Launchbox I cant get it to connect. Yes i am entering it correctly idk if this is issue with site or just me... I tested it a last time it's definitely an issue with Launchbox I log in to website just fine...
  23. Even though no one there speaks to me or comments I thought it was awesome to have a featured download, which also got my account upgrded to Content Contributor... That's all..
  24. Bedwyr

    GBA Manuals

I noticed that neither Emumovies or the games database has manuals for the GB Advance. While minor, I thought it odd. I looked on ReplacementDocs and saw that they had many of the library's manuals, though I'm not sure if the content is supposed to be black and white with color cover (at least for the Advance Wars manual I downloaded). Is there a story there or is the platform just behind in getting fully kitted out within the community?
  25. I need help deciding which is the best way to upgrade my Emumovies account guys... Yearly is great but is Lifetime better?
