  2. Hey all, I'm new to LaunchBox but looking for some assistance with Nestopia; whenever I launch a game and set it to run full screen all starts up fine, runs perfectly etc - issue is occurring when I try to exit a game in BigBox or LaunchBox. When tapping ESC (or similarly assigned controller hotkey, the game appears to attempt to exit out (goes to black screen with menu bar at the top) before returning to the game I was playing; trying again just loops this behaviour. Essentially I can exit out by pressing alt+enter or shift+tab but part of the joy of LaunchBox was being able to fully navigate etc using a controller and meant I could be lazy and not get up off of the couch... I've also successfully got N64 and SNES emus up and running and can exit out of those with no issues so I'm curious to know whether I'm overlooking a simple setting somewhere with this one? Thanks!
  3. Most importantly, I got the idea from FASM's topic posted a while back so a lot of this credit goes to him/her. However, I noticed it only halfway functioned and didn't really do what I wanted it to. An excellent start though! I have created a video with the tutorial in the description over at but for those who just want to get into it, here as follow. TUTORIAL FULLSCREEN MANUAL SUPPORT, BIGBOX Go here http://www.mediafire.com/file/hzgyg8awfbzd8dn/SumatraPDF.exe and get Sumatra PDF. Go here http://www.mediafire.com/file/dnb7v7wdfwl31ue/Chrono+Trigger.pdf and get a test manual if you want. - Put SumatraPDF.exe anywhere you'd like, I chose a folder I named SumatraPDF inside my LB folder. - Click SumatraPDF.exe one time, it will make a txt file called sumatraPDFsettings, open this file (default should be in notepad). - At the very top is a line that says EscToExit, change this to True. This will let you instantly exit with the ESC key. - Hold CTRL + F and search RememberStatePerDocument and change this to = false (manuals will be restarted when reopened) - Do the same with DefaultDisplayMode and change it to = single page (this will fix seeing the bottom page of the next page like seen in the Final Fantasy manual in the video.) - Do the same with Window State, it's right under the last line. Change the number to = 3 (this is borderless fullscreen) - Save the document, exit. - Right click a .pdf file on your computer or use the one I included (most manuals are in this format) and click 'open with' then 'choose another app'. - MAKE SURE to click 'always use this app to open .PDF files' FIRST, even before selecting one, do that now. - click 'show more' then scroll to the bottom, click 'use another app on this PC' - Locate where you put the SumatraPDF.exe and select it. - It should either open the manual in fullscreen OR go back to the app menu with SumatraPDF added to it. If it went back to the menu, click SumatraPDF and click 'okay' - TEST it! The manual should open in fullscreen, move with arrow keys. CONTROLLER SUPPORT FOR MANUALS, BIGBOX Go here *link removed* to download Controller Companion. - Install Controller Companion where ever you like. I put it in it's own folder called Controller Companion inside my LB folder. - For the purpose of this tutorial, I am using a Wireless Xbox One controller. Connect your controller and open Controller Companion. - If it opens up on screen, close it. If not, right click the icon in your taskbar and open settings. - For right now, leave balloon tips and play sounds on. Turn on Start Controller Companion when Windows Starts Up to On if you use Big Box a lot. There will be an option later to turn it off with your controller when not using it. - Click the Bindings tab. Now this is a personal preference, I like to clear every binded button on my controller, you can do this by selecting the button icon and clicking 'nothing'. - Select the Left D-Pad button and make it the left arrow key. It is located in 'keyboard' then 'navigation and edit'. Do the same with the Right D-Pad button and make it the right arrow key. - Click Apply and close out of the window. - TEST it! Open notepad, type a few letters/numbers and use your controllers D-Pad to see if you can move between the letters and numbers with it. If it doesn't work, try again after holding the SELECT/BACK button and pressing the START button. FINAL STEPS, YAY! - Your manuals should be located in your LaunchBox folder under 'manuals' inside the system of the game. They should be named exactly as the roms name. For example, if Final Fantasy 3's rom is named 'Final Fantasy 3 (USA) then your manual for that game should be named 'Final Fantasy 3 (USA).pdf'. - Open Launchbox and go to options. Go to 'controller automation' turn this on and make the buttons as so. Hold Button = START and Close the Active Window = SELECT or BACK button. - TEST it! Go to a game, select a manual and see if it opens in fullscreen. If not, hold the SELECT/BACK button and then press the START button. To close out of a manual and any running emulator currently in Big Box, hold the START button and press the SELECT/BACK button. SUCCESS! A final note, Controller Companion can be active in every single window applicable in Windows. To toggle it between off and onat anytime, hold the SELECT/BACK button and press the START button. It can do many more things than just arrow keys such as toggle virtual keyboards and such. There are many detailed tutorials on Google and YouTube. Enjoy and support the LB BB team! Hopefully in days come a true plugin will be built for BB but for nice, this works just fine! Also, forgive me for making another topic like this a couple weeks ago, the last one didn't have a tutorial and people were asking me. I'm not trying to showcase my video on YouTube, rather, I am trying to showcase it I guess Anywho, much love and LBBBFTW!

  5. Hi, I made this script to start DeSmuMe (Stand-alone. Not RetroArch) in fullscreen automatically. These are the steps for using the script: 1) Extract the attached file "desmume.zip" in the folder where you have the executable of the emulator. 2) Open "desmume.vbs" with a text editor and replace "DeSmuME_0.9.11_x86.exe" with your executable file name. Save the file "desmume.vbs" 3) On launchbox go to Tools / Manage Emulators, select your DeSmuMe emulator and click Edit. 4) In "Emulator Application Path" select "desmume.vbs" file (Filter All Files in Browse) instead of the emulator executable. In "Default command-line parameters" enter "/rompath:" Check the option "No space before ROM" Click ok 4) Play Little Red Riding Hood's Zombie BBQ (If you bought it ) I'm a noob in vbscript, if you know an easier way to solve this problem, tips are welcome. (Sorry for bad Great Britainnnish) desmume.zip
  6. Pre-configured SumatraPDF + JoyToKey to view PDF's with a controller in LaunchBox View File This is a pre-configured SumatraPDF and JoyToKey to use for viewing PDF manuals in LaunchBox with a controller. It was setup with a DS3 using ScpTools Reloaded so it should also be compatible with a Xbox 360 controller. I have not tested it with any other controllers. The zip file contains SumatraPDF, JoyToKey and a AHK script that will launch JoyToKey in a hidden state, then SumatraPDF and when SumatraPDF is closed it will kill JoyToKey. For it to display PDF's in LaunchBox you need to configure the Windows default PDF viewer as 'SumatraPDF-JoyToKey.exe'. You can update either SumatraPDF or JoyToKey by placing the contents of the portable installs in the root directory. Script usage outside of LB is: "c:\path\to\SumatraPDF-JoyToKey.exe" "c:\path\to\pdf\file.pdf" Controls: D-Pad/Left analog stick: Up Down Left Right Right analog stick Up+Down/L+R triggers: Zoom in/out L+R bumpers: Go to First/Last page Cross (Green A on 360): Next page Square (Blue X on 360): Rotate image 90' Triangle (Yellow Y on 360): Cycle through zoom/fit to screen modes (reset zoom) Circle (Red B on 360): Exit SumatraPDF Forum thread Credits: JoyToKey SumatraPDF AutoHotKey Submitter teeedubb Submitted 03/22/2017 Category Third-party Apps and Plugins
  7. Sorry for my bad English, I need to know if there is any way to make the games start in fullscreen, I have tried several methods but nothing works, so far I have tried the following: command line: -f -4 all the options of the emulator update to a newer version with that native option (I do not run games well) It really bothers me, I would like to know if there is any line of command or other solution that works, thank you very much for reading and an apology for my English again.
  8. This started with me wanting to launch the Sharp X68000 emu (xm6g) in fullscreen. Now, in the options menu there are no box to check and so on, so i needed to make a script and convert it to a new .exe with some commands baked into it. I know there are many ways to achieve this but i decided to go with the free to use tool called Autoit. After installation run SciTE script editor Create your script, mine looks like this: 1. run("C:\Emulators\sharpx68000\xm6g.exe") - path to the original *.EXE 2. Sleep (900) - Give some time for the emu to start 3. Send("{ALTDOWN}") - Press and hold ALT 4. Send("{ENTER}") - Press ENTER 5. Send("{ALTUP}") - Release ALT Save the script Now Run Compile script to exe... 1. Add your script 2. Choose destination for your new exe 3. You can add icons. i usually use 7-zip to open the original emulator.exe and extract the icon. I have only used 32x32 sized .ico files... Click "Convert" DONE! In Launchbox just replace the emulator.exe with your new one
  9. Hi I am trying to remove the box cover image when running in bigbox for the games that have video. When the game is highlighted from my list. The video plays. The game box cover sits over the video. How do I set the options or theme so that for all games with videos the box image does not overlay the game video thanks

  11. After finally getting retroarch to behave properly(which is amazing), I've finally been able to spend more time with, and properly use LaunchBox more thoroughly. I use Big Box mode only, and it is truly amazing. One issue I'm having is, I have background videos set to play for each game. I am able to watch the video in the background, but sometimes would rather just watch the video. The ultimate would be for say, after five seconds, the game list and details split and divide sliding off the screen, or sliding vertically like a curtain so I can enjoy the video. The actual problem is I see the Play video fullscreen option in the game menu, but when I select it, the screen goes black and nothing plays. Is this a known issue? Any ideas on a fix? I have VLC set as my video player, as WMP doesnt play any of the videos I've tried to watch. Thanks for any help!
  12. Hi, Bullet Soul on PC dont start in full screen but windowed and there is no option in this game to set fullscreen by default. Alt + Enter is working good, but is it possible to have a command line to start in Full screen by default ? Thanks

  15. I've been looking around the autohotkey area, and I can't find a command that'll wait 1 second, then send the {F11} keystroke. I'm basically trying to get BSNES to startup in fullscreen. At first I was trying Higan, but I couldn't find any way to get that to launch in fullscreen, so now I'm trying to get BSNES to go fullscreen right after the game launches. I've also tried FEleven but I can't find a good way of executing that along with BSNES and loading the ROM. Although, this would all be much easier if there was a command line parameter that would just toggle fullscreen at launch. Please let me know if you've been able to get this to work.
