  1. Personal 2D Uniform Boxes - Nintendo Famicom View File Hi all, I'm sharing my personal collection of 2D Uniform Boxes. The resolution used is 730x730 in .png format. Some images may be distorted, but I tried to leave the best shape and if you want, just give resize. I also made use of Photoshop to correct the images and did many that I didnt find on NET. Some images were in horrible resolutions 240x180 or smaller, so as soon as I thought I'd better update here May have some duplicates or variants. I hope it will be useful for you. Will share all the systems I have. Platform: Nintendo Famicom Files: 1125 Claudio Raphael (cauptain@gmail.com) Submitter Cauptain Submitted 02/17/2019 Category Game Box Art

  3. Starplayer's Local Scraper for Launchbox View File This program is a scraper for your video files, to be used with launchbox. ------------What it does:------------ Imagine you have in your possesison a full collection of video snaps and theme videos for launchbox. Now, you might just have them all in your launchbox\videos\ folder, and everything will work. However, you might prefer to have only some games that you like in your launchbox installation, in a faster SSD, or you might have a Raspberry Pi, which has limited space. In those cases, you will want to only get the videos that correspond to the games you have in launchbox. This program does that automatically for you. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------How do you use this program then??------------ Glad you ask! -1: set the path of your launchbox installation. Usually C:\program Files\Launchbox for example -2: set the path of the folder in which you have your full video collection. For example D:\Launchbox Videos\ -3: Check the checkboxes "Run for videos snaps" and "Run for Themes" depending on if you want to get game snaps, theme videos, or both -4: Press Run ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------Things to have in consideration:------------ You have to have your video folders with the same name of the folders in the launchbox directory. ie, if a folder is called "sega saturn" in launchbox, the correspondent in the folder that containsall your videos can't be called only "saturn". The blue button "Correct Names of video folders attempts to solve this, but you should check. If you want, you can run the program for just one game platform. To do that, check "Run for One Platform Only", press "Get Platforms" and select the platform you want to run for. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------"Other Options" explanation:------------ --"Ignore platform if no original videos are present" - check this if you don't want to be reminded thatthe program didn't found any videos for a specific platform. --"Rename original videos": check this if you also want the original videos in your video collection to bepermanently renamed to the name that launchbox is expecting for each game. Any suggestions, you can find me on Launchbox's forum. You're welcome. Be happy. Starplayer Submitter starplayer Submitted 12/16/2018 Category Third-party Apps and Plugins

    Media Searches

When searching for media, The Game Database almost never fails to find a match. EmuMovies, on the other hand, occasionally fails to find a match. My question is, what string is being used to search EmuMovies? Is it the game Title? I'd like to know so I can try editing the name (i.e. removing special characters, etc.) to see if it helps to return a match.
  10. Hello I bought a PC GAMING and I'm building a complete arcade arcade machine with LaunchBox Premium and I have Emumovies subscription. The thing is that I have a 250 Gb solid disk and a 2 TB hard disk. I'm downloading ALL the multimedia files of each game but as I have installed Launchbox on the solid disk, all the multimedia files are also there and I see that the space I have left is going to be consumed at the rate that goes. There is no way to indicate that the multimedia files are downloaded to another folder on the 2TB hard drive so that it detects the multimedia files in 2 directories or move the multimedia files to the other hard drive and read it from there? My idea was to have the solid with the base of Launchbox and the other hard drive only for games but I see that multimedia files are occupying much more than I expected ...

  15. Starplayer's Local Scraper for Launchbox https://forums.launchbox-app.com/files/file/1606-starplayers-local-scraper-for-launchbox/ Let's you scrape your own video collection, and puts only the needed ones in your launchbox videos folder. Great if you want to save space on your Launchbox drive. Currently only videos are supported, no themes still, and no other media. I'm open to suggestions and bug reports. Enjoy. 16. Been using Launch Box for awhile now, but only just got the full version on the Black Friday sale. I'm LOVING all of the features that I wasn't full aware of, but that does meaning learning to get the most out of it. So I downloaded a Mike Tyson's Punch Out video from Emu Movies, but it's 50 megs. Downloaded the SMB 2 music, but that was 8 megs. As much as I love the quality, that could add up very quickly. This leads me to a few questions: 1. Is there a way to add a video for a specific console that will play any time a game for that console is selected in Big Box mode? I.E. if I choose Contra for the NES, it will play a generic NES video. 2. I used the tool "download platform/playlist theme video" for all my systems, thinking that it would do what I was looking for in the first question. What does this actually do? 3. What image types would you recommend downloading for Big Box mode in order to avoid downloading images that it won't use/need, but that covers its basics (like backgrounds, for instance)? 4. I really enjoyed having the SMB 2 music playing when I select it, but again, I don't want to have an 8 meg file for each specific game. With thousands of games, that also fills up fast. Is there a way to have a playlist of music for each system that will randomly play instead of only for specific games? Obviously, this could overlap with videos playing, so I'd probably just choose one or the other, but I want to my options. Edit: 5. Also, what is "attract mode"? I have it enabled, set it to 10 seconds, but it never kicks in. When is it supposed to work? Anyways, I love all the work the community puts into making Launch Box filled with customization, so consider that a preemptive "thanks"!

    FYI: Media File Naming

I was helping someone in chat last night and it occurred to me that it's probably worth posting about as a sortof FYI/FAQ for others. The topic was "proper" media naming for automatic matching in LB/BB. I think the majority of the confusion stemmed from the fact that there are multiple ways in which the media can be named and it will still match (which is a really awesome feature, but it's something not everyone is accustomed to); and they're matched on the basis of your own library and your own rom files. Let's say you have an entry in your library that's titled "Final Fantasy VI" and an associated rom file named "FF6(1994)(Squaresoft).zip". In this scenario, your media could be named in any of three ways (actually four if you include appended numbers but we'll get back to that) and it will automatically associate with your LB/BB entry. It could be named based on the library title, the rom file name minus special characters, or the rom file name with all special characters. Final Fantasy VI.jpg - matches the library title; this will work FF6.jpg - matches the rom file name minus special characters; this will work note however that appended numbers (-0#) do not work in this scenario. FF6(1994)(Squaresoft).jpg - matches the rom file name with all special characters; this will work FF6(1994).jpg - includes special characters from the rom file, but not all of them; this will not work FFVI.jpg - doesn't match either the library title or the rom name; this will not work If you're matching by title and the title includes characters that are invalid for Windows file names, that character needs to be replaced by an underscore in your media file name. So if your game title is Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers, your media would need to be named Super Street Fighter II_ The New Challengers.jpg. This requirement also applies to titles that use an apostrophe, despite the fact that apostrophes are usable in Windows file names. Additionally, for most types of media you can append a number at the end of the file name (formatted as -0#) and they'll match in LB/BB. So if you have 4 images in your Screenshots - Gameplay folder for Final Fantasy VI, they could be named as below and they'll show up in order in LB. Final Fantasy VI-01.jpg Final Fantasy VI-02.jpg Final Fantasy VI-03.jpg Final Fantasy VI-04.jpg For media other than screenshots, doing this will typically cause them to cycle randomly each time you select the library entry. Platform media is unique in that the files can be named anything, they simply need to be in the correct folder. If you want to add in your own platform banner for Super Nintendo, it would need to go in Launchbox -> Images -> Platforms -> Super Nintendo -> Banner. The actual image file could be named anything but so long as it's in that folder it will show up as a banner for SNES. Additionally, you can put in multiple images for platform banners and platform fanart (again, named anything) and it will cycle between them randomly whenever you select the associated platform in BB. Note that this doesn't work for platform clear logos as you have to clear their image cache for them to reset. I think this covers just about everything. If anyone else has anything else to add though, I can add it into the post.

    Starting up with Pinball medias

Hi, I'm a fan from long date of pinball machines. and I decided to give a go adding Pinball Arcade to my Launchbox/Bigbox. I set up the FreeCam Mode to launch tables on their own, and it works fine. My question is more, how do you scrape Pinball, and where do you get videos and other medias for tables. I have found logos/docklets for most tables, but is there any easier way or place to lookup? Thanks in advance.

    TurboGrafx-CD Cases

Hey Everyone. What's up? I go by RetroKenesis. Some of you may know me from either Box packs or bezels I have floating on the internet...I think I've even saw an unfinished TurboGrafx-16 Box set of mine in the database lol. Anyways, I just wanted to say hello, and let you guys know that I want to start sharing the media that I create here. I think launchbox is a great front end, and feel it deserves great media too! Here is a look at my current project. Unlicensed and Protos will also be included in the final release. And when this project is done, I will finish the TurboGrafx-16 project that I started a few years back Thanks for your time!
  21. Hi Everyone, I'm wondering if someone can help out solve this problem going on, but if you take a look at the supplied image you'll probably see what's wrong -- "Mach Breakers" is stuck there for some reason.. I've noticed this happening occasionally and it seems to be happening when I'm browsing; it seems to happen when I move from an item having that artwork to another not having the artwork. The artwork seems to stay stuck until something else overrides it again. Sometimes the artwork does go away if there's no case in showing it; overall it just feels like a bug going on and I've also slapped this in as a bug on the bitbucket site as well (I might've put it in twice by accident, sorry!) So, my question is this: Does anybody know if I've got a rotten setting going on that'd be causing this behavior and how I'd be able to stop it?

    Removing console photo

How do I remove these images that have consoles on them? I circled it. I have looked through pretty much all settings and cant seem to find the right box to tick to get rid of these console photos. To me they are in the way of the theme, just not necessary.
  23. I have added clear logos for all N64 games from Emumovies Sync to my harddrive. I took the images and put them in my Launchbox/Images/Nintendo64/ClearLogos folder and they all work and pop up in bigbox on the gamewheel. But Gamecube isnt working when i follow the same process. it still shows plain white text on the gamewheel for each game, ( i only have like 7 games on GC ) I have attached a picture of the path the logos are in, and a pic of bigbox not displaying them ( shit quality, very sorry. Should of thought a little more about that before going to work..) The pic shows Bigbox not populating Logos for the games, and the other pic is the file location the GC Logos are in. I downloaded from emumovies sync the Logos to match my gamecube ROMS folder, got all them, put them in the Launchbox/Images/Gamecube/ClearLogos folder but they do not show up on Big box, the same process for n64. Any suggestions? I have confirmed that the titles of the Logos match dead on with the rom names, so im not sure what to do.
  24. Hey, I imported the ScummVM 1.9.0 Set into Launchbox but it couldnt find most of the Media/Artwork. the 1.9.0 Set (and the ones before) use the full game title seen here https://www.scummvm.org/compatibility/ But the media scrapers I use and probably most other people too (HyperSync, Emumovies), use the short gameid for artwork instead of the full title. example: Broken Sword 1 The Shadow of the Templar (CD PS1).zip gets imported as "Broken Sword 1 The Shadow of the Templar" The artwork I found would be called "sword1.png" because the gameid is "sword1". Is there a tool that renames either the artwork to the full name or (probably easier) the "Roms" to the short name?
  25. Hi, All I've decided to try and give back to the talented LaunchBox community and have started working on placeholder media. I figured I would work on the computer systems as they seem to be lacking the most. I have almost finished the cassette tape artwork and I will roll out that with the other art assets this weekend. I am looking for any suggestions and constructive criticism. Be kind, I'm a hobbyist and not a professional Graphic Designer. :-) ~ Lassiveran
