About Me

  1. Version 6.0.0a

    5,054 downloads

***Updated with Volume 6 Williams Pack for Funhouse, Dr. Dude, and Space Station *** ======================================= This includes media for all 96 Pinball FX3 tables through Volume 5 released in December 2019. This pack includes: Clear Logo Docklet Gameplay Screenshot Full Table Gameplay Screenshot Background Pseudo-Backglass - I use these for Game Title snaps Advertisement - Front and Back (for the recreation tables only) I only made a few of the backglass/background images when no others were available. The rest are credited to others, gathered from Zen site, Steam, www.gameex.info pinballx media site, and around the web. If someone objects to an image they created being in this pack, let me know and I will remove it. For those that have two screen setups, then the images for the background on screen #2, named according to the PXP (Steam) file naming convention (which is not straightforward) are in the "Two-Screen Images - PXP Naming.zip" file. The Pinball FX3 Images.Zip file contains a zip of the Launchbox images folders. Within the folder structure they are as follows: Clear Logo = Clear Logo folder Docklet = Box-Front-Reconstructed folder Gameplay Screenshot = Screenshot-Gameplay Full Table Gameplay Screenshot = Screenshot-Game Select Background = Fanart-Background Pseudo-Backglass = Screenshot-Game Title Advertisement - Front and Back (for the recreation tables only) - Flyers folders If you want video snaps, you can find those here: Lastly this platform XML file contains data for each table, PXP name, year, manufacturer, brief description (usually from Zen site), and base information that would normally be downloaded from LB DB. NOTE: The XML file is now located with rest of image downloads. Just click "DOWNLOAD" button at top right, and it is the last entry.
  2. Prior to the second lockdown here in the UK, I finally got around to setting up my new MAME collection of games in Lunchbox. To my delight, boom! - the vast majority of the automatically downloaded logos were super clean and looked perfect! High-fives all around. In the back of my mind, I had the idea of adding my favorite ZX Spectrum, Amiga, and Atari ST games to Launchbox. And when I was forcibly imprisoned in my home for the second time, I had no reason not to do it. I managed to get over the technical hurdle of getting these older emulators up and running and integrated into Launchbox. However, I noticed that some of the logos were missing or of low quality. This is hardly a surprise as many of these systems are pretty niche and old. Being an art director in tv, film, games for the last 20 odds years, these problems triggered my artistic OCD. Luckily, I have physical copies of many of the games, so I began scanning in logos and cleaning them up (Artworking them). And so began my unstoppable artistic OCD project, before I knew it, I had moved into the other consoles such as Playstation, PSP, and Gamecube. Disc’s not cutout properly, centered, and not spinning correctly on the entry into games I found particularly upsetting. So I had to fix those Here is a rough breakdown of what I’ve done per platform. When I get time, I’ll share some of the disc templates if that’s useful to people. ZX Spectrum. I did quite a fair bit of work on the logos here, scanning in original artwork and digitally cleaning them up, so they look decent. I also fixed some of the spacing issues around the logos, with the aim is to make them appear vaguely consistent. You basically want the volume / visual mass of each logo to be roughly consistent in the default view within Launchbox. This can be tricky because they come in all shapes in sizes. Good examples of my work: Robocop 1-3, R-Type, Overlander, JetSet Willy. Atari ST and Amiga. These logos were in better shape, probably because the machines are newer and more popular with users. Common problems include low resolution, blurriness, and alpha problems in the cutout. Many logos have been cut out from a light or colourful background and many have these colors within the Anti-aliased edges. Initially, I would search online for a decent version of a logo but would often resort to scanning them in. Venus Flytrap, X-Out, Lotus games are good examples of my work. Many logos were originally creative to work over light backgrounds. In these cases, I have created and uploaded a version that works well over dark backgrounds. SNES and MegaDrive (Genesis). Predictably these were in good shape But I did tweak a few things here and there. PS1, PS2, Gamecube. I had to do a bit of logo work here, but I spent most of my time centered and cleaning up disc artwork. I do have a few of these original games, which I utilized to produce the disc artwork for titles such as Wipeout and the Destruction Derby. But if you search online, you usually find a high-resolution scan/photo of the official box art or disc. I couldn’t fix all the discs for each region. That would take a lifetime. But I tried to make sure at least one disc for each game would look decent and spin properly. My general preference has been towards the PAL/European regions as I’m based in the UK. I worked up about 75 Gamecube, 165 PS1, And 265 or so PS2 discs. Predicable the PS1 logos and disc artwork involved the most amount of work due to artwork availability and generally inconsistently in the way the original discs were printed. Game Boy and Game Boy Advance. The Game Boy media seems to be in good shape, but the GBA has more inconsistency with its logos both in terms of quality and spacing. I worked through about 400 odd GBA logos. I’m probably going to do another pass on the ZX Spectrum, Amiga, and Atari ST logos as I’m not sure I uploaded all of my changes. Anyway, now the lockdown here in the UK is coming to an end I’ll calm things down for while But I thought I would share the obsessive work I have been doing
  3. For some reason it looks like Launchbox's Rushdownloader can't download any of the screenshots from the Steam storefront. It does fine with Steam Posters and Achievements, but when choosing to download just the Steam Screenshots option I get this error. I'm also going to include a Debug log from when I attempted it too. It's odd since GoG works alright (I noticed for EGS and Uplay games that trying to download the screenshots from the storefronts isn't really an option when you go to the Edit>Media>Images section of individual games to download them. Have to download the Screenshots Gameplay options I'm guessing from the LB Database despite it being an option when importing games.) I've tried adding Launchbox to my firewall settings too and that error still pops up so I'm kinda at my wits end here and wondering if anyone else has this problem? I have the current beta build of Launchbox, but I was using the current Stable build before trying it and it happened there so I thought that the beta version would work, but sadly it didn't. 4. I'm running the latest LaunchBox/BigBox with the latest Windows10 on a i3-4130 PC with 16GB of memory and 250GB SSD and a Radeon HD5770. When I try to download the Metadata and Media for my game collection (less than 1000 from 9 platforms), it works for a little bit, then it eventually gets stuck/frozen trying to download a particular .png. Like right now, at the moment it's stuck downloading 4 file 7: Fanart - Background xxxxxxxxx.png for the game Puchi-Carat... Pressing cancel doesn't do anything but I can close the LaunchBox normally via alt-F4 or the clicking the X window button.. Also, if I try with less media types and/or only with a platform with few games, then it works.. but as soon I try to to download more media types or selecting a larger platform, the same thing happens.. It always gets stuck trying to download something... I'm not a premium member for EmuMovies, but I'm not downloading any videos or using premium features.. And I've also tried not using EmuMovies at all, with the same results... I don't think it's the issue with my computer or Windows or my Internet connection... Any ideas? Thank you!
  5. I was helping someone in chat last night and it occurred to me that it's probably worth posting about as a sortof FYI/FAQ for others. The topic was "proper" media naming for automatic matching in LB/BB. I think the majority of the confusion stemmed from the fact that there are multiple ways in which the media can be named and it will still match (which is a really awesome feature, but it's something not everyone is accustomed to); and they're matched on the basis of your own library and your own rom files. Let's say you have an entry in your library that's titled "Final Fantasy VI" and an associated rom file named "FF6(1994)(Squaresoft).zip". In this scenario, your media could be named in any of three ways (actually four if you include appended numbers but we'll get back to that) and it will automatically associate with your LB/BB entry. It could be named based on the library title, the rom file name minus special characters, or the rom file name with all special characters. Final Fantasy VI.jpg - matches the library title; this will work FF6.jpg - matches the rom file name minus special characters; this will work note however that appended numbers (-0#) do not work in this scenario. FF6(1994)(Squaresoft).jpg - matches the rom file name with all special characters; this will work FF6(1994).jpg - includes special characters from the rom file, but not all of them; this will not work FFVI.jpg - doesn't match either the library title or the rom name; this will not work If you're matching by title and the title includes characters that are invalid for Windows file names, that character needs to be replaced by an underscore in your media file name. So if your game title is Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers, your media would need to be named Super Street Fighter II_ The New Challengers.jpg. This requirement also applies to titles that use an apostrophe, despite the fact that apostrophes are usable in Windows file names. Additionally, for most types of media you can append a number at the end of the file name (formatted as -0#) and they'll match in LB/BB. So if you have 4 images in your Screenshots - Gameplay folder for Final Fantasy VI, they could be named as below and they'll show up in order in LB. Final Fantasy VI-01.jpg Final Fantasy VI-02.jpg Final Fantasy VI-03.jpg Final Fantasy VI-04.jpg For media other than screenshots, doing this will typically cause them to cycle randomly each time you select the library entry. Platform media is unique in that the files can be named anything, they simply need to be in the correct folder. If you want to add in your own platform banner for Super Nintendo, it would need to go in Launchbox -> Images -> Platforms -> Super Nintendo -> Banner. The actual image file could be named anything but so long as it's in that folder it will show up as a banner for SNES. Additionally, you can put in multiple images for platform banners and platform fanart (again, named anything) and it will cycle between them randomly whenever you select the associated platform in BB. Note that this doesn't work for platform clear logos as you have to clear their image cache for them to reset. I think this covers just about everything. If anyone else has anything else to add though, I can add it into the post.
  6. I am using the Unified Redux theme. When a game is navigated to the Media for that game is not playing. For example, 19XX. A screenshot is attached. The replay video for this game never plays. Is it possible that I haven't downloaded the replay video? 1. Where are the replay videos stored? 2. How do I download these through Launchbox? 3. I have these already in HyperSpin. Can I just copy these over from HyperSpin, how are they named?
  7. Hi everyone, It seems that since the launchbox 11.16 update, BigBox does not load images properly. Basically I get a lot of black boxes instead of 3D cover boxes, screenshots, logos of whatever option I choose to see the list of games (I seem indifferent I always get black boxes), this does not happen with videos, manual, the games or any other option different to the "cover" that I choose. Of course I updated to 11.7 version, and I refresh the cache, used the option to Force populate all game wheel imagenes & Force pupulate all CoverFlown imagenes multiple times without success. It is a bit weird because in Launchbox everything works well and I can see the imagenes in my database, so all the problem is alocated to BigBox and for some reason that I do not understand Bigbox does not see the images or they are not loaded correctly. I would appreciate any kind of help or hint. Kind regards!
  8. Greetings. I'm using version 11.11 and 11.12 of Launchbox, but still having trouble updating metadata and media for close to a month now. I have a lifetime membership of Launchbox and lifetime membership of Emumovies, but as my picture above, I'm currently downloading 23,280 files but they've all timed out. This had happened countless times and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything including using the beta version, but the result has been similar - they all timed out. How do I fix this problem, as I have yet another batch of 116,000 games to update, but can't even do an update of my first 30,266 games. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

This program is a scraper for your video files, to be used with launchbox. ------------What it does:------------ Imagine you have in your possesison a full collection of video snaps and theme videos for launchbox. Now, you might just have them all in your launchbox\videos\ folder, and everything will work. However, you might prefer to have only some games that you like in your launchbox installation, in a faster SSD, or you might have a Raspberry Pi, which has limited space. In those cases, you will want to only get the videos that correspond to the games you have in launchbox. This program does that automatically for you. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------How do you use this program then??------------ Glad you ask! -1: set the path of your launchbox installation. Usually C:\program Files\Launchbox for example -2: set the path of the folder in which you have your full video collection. For example D:\Launchbox Videos\ -3: Check the checkboxes "Run for videos snaps" and "Run for Themes" depending on if you want to get game snaps, theme videos, or both -4: Press Run ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------Things to have in consideration:------------ You have to have your video folders with the same name of the folders in the launchbox directory. ie, if a folder is called "sega saturn" in launchbox, the correspondent in the folder that containsall your videos can't be called only "saturn". The blue button "Correct Names of video folders attempts to solve this, but you should check. If you want, you can run the program for just one game platform. To do that, check "Run for One Platform Only", press "Get Platforms" and select the platform you want to run for. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------"Other Options" explanation:------------ --"Ignore platform if no original videos are present" - check this if you don't want to be reminded thatthe program didn't found any videos for a specific platform. --"Rename original videos": check this if you also want the original videos in your video collection to bepermanently renamed to the name that launchbox is expecting for each game. Any suggestions, you can find me on Launchbox's forum. You're welcome. Be happy. Starplayer Update: You can find the source code here, in case anyone wants to change it. 11. Geared mostly for older, bigger builds that have been around since before Launchbox had its media cleaning tools. After years of "updating" media on the same build I realized I had a lot of duplicates that had the same name but different extensions, .jpg or .png. Please note that when I say the word "duplicate" I'm not necessarily talking about identical images, just identically named images where one is being displayed in Launchbox and the other being ignored and taking up space. Example of duplicate Box Art: Air Cars-01.jpg Air Cars-01.png My build is huge and I wanted something to quickly "prefer" one file type and delete the other, so I cobbled together two bat files. Running either bat will cause it to search through the folder for files with duplicated names with one version being a jpg and the other a png, and it will delete one of them. The bats will target the folder they are placed in and any subfolders in that directory. So you can use it just for Box Art, for example, by placing one directly in your boxart folder (this will also run in the regional folders within the boxart directory). Or you can use it for an entire system by placing it in your "images/system" folder. Or, for all systems at once by placing it directly in your /images folder. Choose the ~PrefPNG~ version if you want to KEEP the png version of the duplicates Choose the ~PrefJPG~ version if you want to KEEP the jpg versions of the duplicates. The bat does not do anything to any media that doesn't have identically named files, one with each of these extensions, in the same folder.* WARNINGS: These bats do not search for duplicates on ANY critera except for directory and NAME. They aren't looking for identical files, identical file sizes, time stamps or anything like that. If you have two completely different images, one jpg and one png, but they are named the same, it will delete one of them, and its up to you to look at your media and decide which "version" of the dupes you want to keep and pick the bat accordingly. Not all media is created equal, so I would encourage you to use these in one system / art category at a time. It could be that for the box fronts, jpgs look better and for the box backs the pngs look better. Lastly, I know JUST enough about bat files to have pieced these together using other people's codes I found intended to do similar things, but beyond that, its all a mystery to me so here's the code in both the bats (just the extensions are switched in each version) if anyone wants to see it without downloading: @ECHO OFF FOR /F "usebackq delims=" %%i in ( `dir /b /s *.jpg` ) do ( IF EXIST "%%~dpni.png" ( DEL "%%i" ) ) Lagniappe: If you want to clean out the duplicates that launchbox may have downloaded and appended with a different number, e.g -02,-03 etc. you can do a search in the folder using this (type identically as seen below in the search): "*-02*" and that will search for all of the files with -02 in the title where you can delete them en masse if you wish. These are just tools I made and/or learned trying to clean up my oldest biggest launchbox build. Hope it helps! Walter ~PrefPNG~ Delete Duplicates.bat ~PrefJPG~ Delete Duplicates.bat

  16. Dear Arcade fans, I have a question concerning scraping media for games. A few days ago I added several Mame rom files with the help of the default Launchbox wizard on my Arcade system. Scraping all media is a process that takes a lot of time. In my case days on a row... While scraping all media (i.e.: Artwork), I noticed that I could not see the total amount of rom files that are being ‘scraped’. My question is: Is there an option so I can see if the system is scraping all the rom files? For example: pseudo code ? à scraping game with name (X), number (Y) of a total amount of games (Z). Based on that I can see if everything works as it should be. Otherwise I will abort the process (instead of waiting for hours/days). The underlying reasons of my question is that I constantly missing a lot of games after the import process. Thank you in advance for feedback!
  17. First post on the forums! sorry if its noob-duh - i did do searches against the forum first but didnt see the answer on my initial tries. two questions: 1. I'm importing rom packs that have more than just the rom file (nds in this case): they also have some media as well as a .nfo file - the .nfo file is being seen by LB as a game (see screenshot). I even tried to open it in LB and as expected nothing happened. (opening the actual game worked fine, so the emu is fine) - just asking to see if anyone else has observed LB parsing an nfo file as a game? and what are my options (cuz... i have a lot of em' lol, clean up will be gross) 2. the media that is in the zip... i did confirm that LB didnt automagically see and parse it to media for the game - which i expected as i hadn't see that mentioned as a feature before, unless it actually can per some prereqs not met by this pack.. i presume if i want to use that media i'll have to unpack and manually throw them into the LB media folders? (i have NOT forum searched this part of my question, so feel free to slap and say "this is covered in the noob section, go look there") thank you LB creators and supporters and fans. after many years of wanting to do a big retro game build, finally getting around to it!

Hello Arcade Fans, in this pack i'll share the wheels and videos for the new games supported in MAME. (Note: I haven't made media for the new slot machines games, because I don't use it in my MAME Romset) This month it was very easy, all the logos existed in other console systems, so I only created the video snaps. New supported games: (slot machines games are not listed) - San Francisco Rush 2049 - San Francisco Rush 2049: Special Edition - Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (bootleg of Megadrive version) Hope you like it!!

Be happy. Starplayer Submitter starplayer Submitted 12/16/2018 Category Third-party Apps and Plugins
  25. MAME Update 0.206 New Games Download Pack View File Hello Arcade Fans, in this pack i'll share the wheels and videos for the new games supported in MAME.
