About Me

  1. I'm importing the fbneo set with the options: Import specified folder Combine Roms with matching titles into single game Force using MAME metadata and I'm scraping as SNK Neo Geo AES (not as Arcade) platform And I'm getting this in the playlist/menus appearing as the base rom name and in the metadata the title is not 100% My question is this. Is there a means of either re-auditing these in place to update the title field correctly or have I done something amiss on the import? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Loving the flexibility of this software, I just get feeling I've just made a slight mis-step on this one! Cheers!
  2. Hi media fans, in this video I share the 121 3D Cartridges (918x876 pixels) using the template from mikty. I've corrected the cart color and added new stickers more similar to the original ones. You'll find the download link in the video description in my YouTube Channel, check it to download. Special thanks to mikty.
  3. Good Morning! I am having trouble with getting my NeoGeo games to launch from LB. I can open Retroarch from LB and select the game and a core (FB Alpha 2012 seems to work) but when I goto associated platforms for retroarch within LB and set the core to FB Alpha 2012 Libretro (or any other neogeo core), they won't start from LB. I click on the game and it doesn't do anything and even if I right click and say launch with retroarch and the associated core, it doesn't want to work. I must have the bios in the right spot if it works from retroarch directly yes? Anything else I should look at? Thanks!
  4. OK so this may be a really really dumb question!!! I've been setting up my first arcade and got rom sets for MAME .229 Merged NES SNES Mega Drive Master System GBA Neo Geo Though I've been having trouble with Neo Geo.. and when considering giving up.. I was checking my mame set and noticed most (if not all) games were already in the MAME set.. then I started checking some SNES games and same deal. Do Mame sets usually include the above systems? Or is it just that the games I'm checking were released across multiple systems.. Sorry for the really really dumb question! Just trying to decide how much more time I need to spend on Neo Geo emulators..if at all. Thanks!!!!
  5. 2 problems 1 question question 1) are all neo geo roms in the full mame sets? Problem 1)Mame I cannot find a stock filter / slider crt scan line effect which isnt way too dark. The exact look I want is found when you use retroarch neogeo. Problem 2)NEO GEO Some of my neo geo roms don't work with retroarch / fbalpha2012neogeo libretro and some dont have art work. I need to seperate my neo geo from mame. Goal I want all my mame to look like the retroarch neogeo scanlines which is basically a nice bright colourful crt which to me looks authentic. And I want all my neo geo roms in their own platform separate section. I would settle for a mame slider filter which was bright and colourful. And then if I could separate all the neogeo into their own platform I would abandon the retro-arch for neo geo. Or any solution to get the crt look and neogeo on its own. Can anyone pls help? Thanks ?
  6. hello everyone, I have a really amazing launchbox collection. I use it constantly because my home arcade machine in the other room allows me to stream my desktop to the arcade unit, and with the track ball i can use the mouse , once you launch games, etc, the controls of the arcade automatically takes over, so its awesome having launchbox, and bigbox while using this feature. the problem im having is i dont know what i did, but now none of my arcade game work. they launch , then it will say game over and close right back down to launchbox or bigbox wherever i was last. it also has affected my neo geo collection. Not one of those roms will run either. I dont know if there is away for me to delete all the arcade and neogeo games and then reinstall them over from scratch. If not i have 26,056 total games. I really rather install the somewhere over 4000 mame games, and the around 180 neogeo games. any help would be appreciated. Can i delete the entire arcade folder and neogeo system and reinstall them so nothing else gets ruined? everything else is running beautifully. im running mame 0.226. thank in advanced if anyone can help.
  7. 1080P Arcade Generic System Overlays View File Hello everyone! I did these overlays with available content in community and internet. I credit everyone for their respective content provided. Thankfully!! They are all generic arcade 1080p overlays. Use for Mame, FinalBurn Neo, Capcom and NeoGeo systems. Contains versions for curved screen, flat screen and HSM shaders, horizontal and vertical variants. I made them to use simultaneously with Retroarch + Launchbox, as it contains their logos. Obviously they can be used for Retroarch alone, of course! INSTRUCTIONS: Unzip the content into the Retroarch overlay folder. SCALING SETTINGS: Curved screen horizontal overlays: Integer Scale: OFF Aspect Ratio: Custom Custom Aspect Ratio (X Position): 350 Custom Aspect Ratio (Y Position): 80 Custom Aspect Ratio (Width): 1220 Custom Aspect Ratio (Height): 920 Shader: Use one which lets you define the curvature for best result (I prefer crt-guest-dr-venom). Curved Screen Vertical Overlay: Integer Scale: OFF Aspect Ratio: Custom Custom Aspect Ratio (X Position): 608 Custom Aspect Ratio (Y Position): 72 Custom Aspect Ratio (Width): 702 Custom Aspect Ratio (Height): 934 Again, use a shader which lets you define the curvature for best result (I recommend crt-guest-dr-venom). Flat screen Horizontal Overlay: Integer Scale: OFF Aspect Ratio: Custom Custom Aspect Ratio (X Position): 316 Custom Aspect Ratio (Y Position): 54 Custom Aspect Ratio (Width): 1290 Custom Aspect Ratio (Height): 970 Flat screen Vertical Overlay: Integer Scale: OFF Aspect Ratio: Custom Custom Aspect Ratio (X Position): 590 Custom Aspect Ratio (Y Position): 48 Custom Aspect Ratio (Width): 740 Custom Aspect Ratio (Height): 896 ----------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- BONUS 1080P arcade overlay (Mame and FBN versions) for vertically rotated monitors. NOTE: To use rotated overlays, you need to configure the image rotation by Retroarch video settings and, obviously, a monitor that allows you to rotate it physically. Curved screen vertical rotate overlay: Integer Scale: OFF Aspect Ratio: Custom Custom Aspect Ratio (X Position): 230 Custom Aspect Ratio (Y Position): 80 Custom Aspect Ratio (Width): 1224 Custom Aspect Ratio (Height): 918 Shader: One more time, one which lets you define the curvature for best result (I prefer crt-guest-dr-venom). Flat screen vertical rotate overlay: Integer Scale: OFF Aspect Ratio: Custom Custom Aspect Ratio (X Position): 198 Custom Aspect Ratio (Y Position): 56 Custom Aspect Ratio (Width): 1292 Custom Aspect Ratio (Height): 962 Have a good time! 8. Hello all, I just updated my retroarch build to the latest version 1.8.1 at the time typing this. I updated my cores and core info files, and noticed a new core called NeoCD (2019). A Neogeo CD emulation core in retroarch. I was happy to try it out then I noticed that I couldn't get any of the bios files I have working with this core. Anyone else having this issue? Has anyone else tried this core yet? I also checked here too: (didn't help me much) https://github.com/libretro/neocd_libretro

Here's some alternatives to the original logo's, more to come down the road when I'm expanding my collection further
  10. I apologise if this has come up before, but I am having a hell of time getting NeoGeo roms and CPS1, CPS2, and CPS3 Roms running. I am using Retroarch and have followed the tutorial videos. As far as I can tell I am updating my cores (FBA_Libretro) and I have placed the neogeo.zip (bios) in my roms folder. When I attempt to run a rom, it either flat out does not do anything or by running a few of the different cores the roms start to boot and seem to hang at around 90%. If anyone has a fix for this, or any helpful tips I would be incredibly grateful. So far my experience with launchbox has been great, if I can just crack this nut it will be nigh on perfect. Thanks in advance Dirtybaz

  13. Mr. RetroLust's Neo Geo Marquees - Pack 1 of 2 View File Mr. RetroLust's Neo Geo Marquees Pack 1 of 2 This is version 2.0.0, I deleted the first version I uploaded here so be advised to overwrite the old versions with these updated better quality versions. See below for more details. Description I made these Marquees exclusively for the LaunchBox community as appreciation for the awesome work, software and everyone that contributes to this amazing community. I find the official single 'mini-marquee' system a bit boring with just one small mini-marquee on a huge red plate and as the games came with more instruction flyers and artwork I got inspired by the dual-marquee layout to use the second placeholder for more artwork for a single game, for some games I couldn't find extra flyer material so I used artwork from back-covers and such to fill up the second placeholder. Now it feels a bit more colorful. If you like these marquees please use the review option below as well, much appreciated. Includes Marquees for 73 games (see list below for more details) Made from the highest quality artwork available Version 2.0.0 changes: Optimized marquees without scratched texture overlay for deeper colors and contrast on the mini-marquees Cleaned up and color corrected artwork Custom translations from Japanese to English where needed Exclusive Day mode / Night Mode (unlit/lit) for every marquee Including restored/remade/revived Full Marquee versions for some games that weren't available anywhere else before Optimized dual mini-marquee layouts in 21:9 aspect ratio for full screen ultra-wide marquee monitors All marquees are 4K Ultra HD Resolution; 3840 pixels wide with variable height for Full Layout marquees See this thread for more details on this project: Installation Place the files in "Images\*Name of your Neo Geo directory*\Arcade - Marquee". The file names have the rom name so if the title changes in the launchbox games database these files still get linked to the rom files, please note that some games might have a specific version in the name so you should change it accordingly, example: The Burning fight version that you use could be: "burningf" or as I use: "burningfh". Eassiest to check is by dropping all the files inside your Rom directory so you can compare them directly side by side (that is if you keep your Neo Geo files separated from Mame roms as those directories could be a bit large) You could delete the versions you don't like; Night, Day, Full or Mini-Marquee or just let BigBox randomly choose a version for you each time (if I'm not mistaken) when you have different numbers behind the images (01, 02, 03, 04) List including games Pack 1 of 2: +++ - 3 Count Bout (Fire Suplex) +++ - Super Baseball 2020 (2020 Super Baseball) +++ - Aggressors of Dark Kombat (Tsukai GANGAN Koshinkyoku) +++ - Alpha Mission II (ASO II: Last Guardian) +++ - Andro Dunos +++ - Art of Fighting (Ryuko no Ken) +++ - Art of Fighting 2 (Ryuko no Ken 2) +++ - Art of Fighting 3: The Path of the Warrior (ART OF FIGHTING: Ryuko no Ken - Gaiden) +++ - Bang Bead (Bang Beads) +++ - Baseball Stars Professional +++ - Baseball Stars 2 +++ - Battle Flip Shot (Flip Shot) +++ - Blazing Star +++ - Blue's Journey (Raguy) +++ - Breakers +++ - Breakers Revenge +++ - Burning Fight +++ - Captain Tomaday +++ - Crossed Swords +++ - Crossed Swords II +++ - Cyber-Lip +++ - Double Dragon (Double Dragon 6-1) +++ - Eight Man (8 Man) +++ - Far East of Eden: Kabuki Klash (Tengai Makyo: Shinden) +++ - Fatal Fury: King of Fighters (Garo Densetsu: Shukumei no Tatakai) +++ - Fatal Fury 2 (Garo Densetsu 2: Aratanaru Tatakai) +++ - Fatal Fury 3: Road to the Final Victory (Garo Densetsu 3: Harukanaru Tatakai) +++ - Fatal Fury Special (Garo Densetsu Special) +++ - Fight Fever (Wang Jung Wang) +++ - Football Frenzy +++ - Galaxy Fight: Universal Warriors +++ - Ganryu (Musashi Ganryuki) +++ - Garou: Mark of the Wolves +++ - Ghostlop +++ - Ghost Pilots +++ - Goal! 14. I apologize if this has been asked...if so, I was unable to find any info. Long story short, I've been moving LB to an external drive and updating things. Before I started this process, all my platforms worked great, but now, several systems seem to be running in slow motion. Thanks to CaptSpeirs, I was able to solve the issue with NeoGeo (I had to turn on Threaded Video in Retroarch), but it hasn't worked and I can't figure out what settings (I think it's probably a setting within Retroarch) I need to change for GameCube & N64. GameCube I'm using dolphin_libretro and N64 has mupen64plus_libretro. If I push the space bar, everything speeds up and everything is almost on track. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  17. Hi guys, So I have exhausted all methods and I think I've found what the problem is. I used ETA Prime's method in his Youtube tutorial to no avail. Emulator Details Associated Platforms Note the extra command-line parameters. I am unable to enter the full command line: -L "cores\fbalpha_libretro.dll" I enter the command line and click OK. But when I come back to check, the space is blank. The only way I can get it to save is by removing the "-" And that's what you see in the screenshot. I gather that this is a bug? I'm using version 8.5 of LB. I'm able to enter the full command line in the edit game section of any given rom. And the line saves without a hitch, the games run fine this way. Please see below: Anyone else run across this issue? Is there a fix other than editing each individual rom? Thanks in advance!
  18. I've had this Neo Geo bezel for a while but was hesitant to release it. It didn't fit with the other Neo Geo bezels I made and the screen is a different size. I wish I had better material for it as well, but now that SNK announced the Neo Geo Mini and it's design is based off the SC25-4 Cab. I thought why not just post it. Enjoy!

  22. Hi all. I've spent the past few hours trying to solve this but to no avail... I've set up RetroArch to run my Neo Geo games via Big Box. The setup went well and everything works fine except for when I try and launch a game. I get nothing. Instead, I have to open RetroArch and choose the core. The games work fine, it isn't a bios issue. I can load the games perfectly fine inside RetroArch but I always have to choose a Core beforehand ( I have FB alpha 2012 NeoGeo in my list). The minute I close down RetroArch and re-open, it has forgotten the Core. So i can't launch my games via Launchbox. I know I'm missing something that's glaringly obvious! Might this be an issue with my Default Command-Line Parameter? I currently have -L "cores\fbalpha2012_neogeo_libretro.dll" I run my games and emulators on a USB 3 SSD external drive (portable version of BigBox). Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  23. So, I'm trying to get my tankstick set up with MAME so that NEO GEO games use a different config from other games. I see this is already built into the X-arcade.cfg file I put in the ctrlr directory a while ago, but I realize it is looking for a 'neogeo' system. Right now, I don't think this is set up, since it is currently not formatted according to what it says. Right now, it's using "Ctrl, Alt, Space, X", but I want to use "C, Shift, Z, X" as seen in the X-Arcade.cfg. How do I define what games are part of the 'neogeo' system in mame as displayed in X-Arcade.cfg?
