1920X1080 Base resolution Fully compatible with the overlay AUTO-SCALE option Animated controller buttons Optional In-screen tube borders (bezel) Dark Theme Portrait Mode included Animated Fast-Forward Button (only on portrait mode) MEGA BEZEL PRESETS (Light and Dark) MEGA BEZEL PRESETS DARK LIGHT RECOMMENDED LANDSCAPE MODE SETTINGS OVERLAY SETTINGS: Enable the AUTO SCALE OVERLAY option. As this overlay is made by elements that stick to the edges, no matter what resolution is used. With this, the overlay won't look deformed if it's not used on a 16:9 display. Set "Show Inputs on Overlay" to "Physical (controller)" Or to "OFF" if overlay flashes on button presses. On the overlay settings set the OVERLAY OPACITY TO 1.0 VIDEO SCALING FOR LANDSCAPE/HORIZONTAL MODE For an aspect ratio screen of 16:9 set the video scaling to 4:3 non integer. And go Full screen. RECOMMENDED PORTRAIT MODE SETTINGS OVERLAY SETTINGS (NOT NEEDED IN UPDATE 1.1) Use the same Overlay setting as for landscape mode. But Also Enable the AUTO ROTATE OVERLAY setting And in your phone enable the AUTO- ROTATION TOGGLE. This would auto switch the overlay to landscape if its hold horizontally, and auto switch to portrait mode if its held vertically. If for some reason it wont switch to portrait mode, and it stays in the landscape mode on the middle of the screen, I added a button on top " SWITCH TO PORTRAIT MODE" touch/click that to force the portrait mode. VIDEO SCALING FOR PORTRAIT MODE For some reason, Auto scaling for portrait overlays is only functional in horizontal elements. Meaning that vertical elements, wont align or stick to the top and bottom of the display. With this in mind, i made the portrait overlay with only horizontal elements. I tested this overlay on phones with screens of an aspect ratio of 16:9, 18.5:9 and 20:9. With these results: - On a screen ratio display of 16:9 set video scaling to 16:10 - On a screen ratio of 18.5:9 and 20:9 set video scaling to 4:3 NOTE ABOUT ANIMATED RESET AND FAST FORWARD BUTTONS RetroArch only allows to "animate" controller buttons, so to "cheat" this limitation, and create an animated non controller buttons, i used a combination of controller buttons. For example if you push in you controller the buttons R3+Y you'll see the reset button animate, but the emulator won't reset. (set a combination hotkey if you want it to). For the FAST FORWARD button, i set it to the R2 button, as i use that button in general for that function. -
Essentially the title. I downloaded Mesen, and Launchbox won't open it. I've tried default settings, I've tried switching around some command line parameters, no dice. Mesen itself opens just fine by itself and through the command line. I have no idea what's up with Launchbox. Emulator details: I've tried checking "Don't use quotes", "No space before ... ", "Attempt to hide ... ", and "Extract ROM archives ... ". Not all at once, of course. Associated platforms is set up: No AutoHK scripts: And my ROMs are set up to use this emulator: I have no idea what's going on. Any ideas?

Machtendo - Bezels Set ( v1.0 = 175 Bezels) - LaunchBox Community Appreciation Hello, all! I was inspired by the work of a few users here in the community to teach myself how to use Photoshop and I wanted to create my own unique set of bezels. I taught myself just enough Photoshop to accomplish what I'd hoped to accomplish. I made these for myself because I loved so many of the different styles and sets I'd seen on here, which varied widely - but I wanted a more uniformed set that I felt would work well with Viking's Colorful (Dark) Theme. I decided that I'd go ahead and post them here, to express my gratitude for all the hard work everyone has put in to make LaunchBox what it is. Since I am interested to learn more Photoshop, I think I'm going to continue experimenting with these. If the community seems to like them, I'll post an update every so often. If anyone has any feedback or tips, I'm always willing to learn! Resolution: 1920 x 1080 Usage: I use these in RetroArch, I personally set the Configuration up by Content Directory in the ../config/[emulator] folder. In these config files, I point to the overlay file path with integer scaling turned on, with the opacity set to 1.0. I'll post a sample config later on. Categories: Generic or Abstract = 6 Platforms = 129 Games\Series = 10 Games\Individual = 30 Total = 175 Credit for the original artwork: @Orionsangel - @JRPGod - @nadonate - @Kondorito - @ci2own - @harryoke Also, super appreciative of @Jason Carr for creating and maintaining LaunchBox in the first place -

Hey all, I'm new to LaunchBox but looking for some assistance with Nestopia; whenever I launch a game and set it to run full screen all starts up fine, runs perfectly etc - issue is occurring when I try to exit a game in BigBox or LaunchBox. When tapping ESC (or similarly assigned controller hotkey, the game appears to attempt to exit out (goes to black screen with menu bar at the top) before returning to the game I was playing; trying again just loops this behaviour. Essentially I can exit out by pressing alt+enter or shift+tab but part of the joy of LaunchBox was being able to fully navigate etc using a controller and meant I could be lazy and not get up off of the couch... I've also successfully got N64 and SNES emus up and running and can exit out of those with no issues so I'm curious to know whether I'm overlooking a simple setting somewhere with this one? Thanks!

Hello, I would like to use USB console controllers (NES, Genesis, SNES, etc) to play games for those specific cores, but would like to keep the Xbox One controller active to navigate the Retroarch menu. Right now, I am unable to do this in a satisfactory way. Currently, I take the following steps: 1) Connect my Xbox One controller wirelessly (to PC, windows 10, using the Microsoft dongle) 2) Connect a USB controller to an open USB port in my PC. 3) Fire up LB in BB mode, navigate to a system (ex. NES) and launch a game. 4 ) As the game launches, RA always recognizes the Xbox controller as player 1, while the USB controller is assigned as player 2. a) I open the RA menu and try to assign User 1 to the USB controller via control menu options (ie. Settings>Input>Input User 1 Binds> User 1 device index; cycle till USB controller shows up) b) When I do this, I lose navigation control because certain controllers are limited to the # of buttons available (ie, NES or Atari 2600) and now I am stuck in the navigation scree, unless : i) Connect a keyboard, ii) Reassign User 1 to the Xbox controller iii) Navigate to Quick settings> Resume game 5) I would like to do this without having to go through all of this trouble. In other words, I would like to connect an NES controller, play an NES game (as player 1) and still have access to RA menu via hotkeys if I need to make and adjustment. is there a way to do this? thank you all in advance

Hi, I have been Using Launchbox for android quite a while, since I bought the android version, I've having this issue with the Android export wizard, it doesn't reconogize Nintendo Famicom as a platform, it copies the games, but in launchbox android in the nintendo Famicom, section it won't let me choose an emulator, hope this issue will get fixed soon so I can play my Nintendo Famicom Collection, thanks

This issues has been driving me nuts for weeks. I can’t seem to figure it out. I’m trying to configure Retroarch for the first time. I want to use it to emulate NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, etc on my Arcade. The arcade has an Xtension 2 player control panel, configured for keyboard inputs. Works just fine with MAME games & the standalone MAME emulator. But I’m just focusing on NES & Retroarch for now. This should be simple, since I just need to enter control inputs for up, down, left, right, A, B, Start & Select. I just can’t figure out Retroarch. I’ll load the NES core in Retroarch (NestopiaUE), then go to Input and then Input User 1 Binds. I assume these are the general inputs for Retroarch overall. Not sure if I need to setup a config file for each core tho. This should be simple, but it’s not. I head down to the User 1 D-pad settings. The correct settings should be up, down, left, right arrow keys. When I press enter to change & then press down on my joystick, the key is changed to keypad2, not down. So all my settings are set to keypad8, keypad2, keypad4, keypad6. It doesn’t matter if I enter inputs with the joystick or arrow keys on the keyboard. Doesn’t matter if the keyboard number lock is on or off. So when I launch an NES game, the joystick controls do not work. I’m at a loss how to fix. I suppose I could manually change the config file in notepad++, but I cannot locate the config file on my hard drive, and I’m not sure if config files need to be made for each core. And if individual config files need to be created, how do I get them to launch with each Retroarch core? Setting up my Arcade has been a ongoing battle every step of the way. So damn frustrating. This shit is going to take me years. Any help appreciated.
