Hello! I started setting up LB for the first time this week, and all but two of my systems have imported as expected. After I import Commodore 64 and Sinclair ZX Spectrum the copying of files and scanning for metadata goes as expected, but the platform is never created. I don't see them on my platform list or when I go to Manage Platforms. All the games are in my LaunchBox/Games folder for the respective platforms but there is no evidence of the platform in LB's UI. I have not allowed all of the metadata and images to download completely as I am importing several platforms and don't want to wait that long, could that be what is causing the issue? Like I said, these are the only two platforms I am having issues with, but I have not allowed any platform to fully download metadata and images yet. In my source folder for the ZX Spectrum roms each game has a folder of 5-6 individual flies but when I import to LB all files seem to get mixed up into a single folder. Does this mean that each file for each game is being recognized as it's own game? Do I need to convert each game folder to a single file of some sort before I import? Is there a way to tell LB to recognize each folder as a single game instead of each file? I have several filetypes in my Sinclair ZX Spectrum Games folder in the LB Games folder. .$b .asm .dsk .fdi .jsw .mgt .rom .scl .sna .tap .trd .tzx .z80 .zxs All of my C64 files are .tap. I have already ensured that I have a core loaded in Retroarch as the emulator for both of these platforms. Any help you can offer would be extremely appreciated!
Hi I am new here please forgive if this is the wrong place. I recently downloaded bigbox on 1yr license to try before committing to lifetime. The email I used was different to the one i have now been forced to join this forum on, whereas my old one -the one bigbox is registered to -is the one i actually want to use anyway, so registration of bigbox....no problem. Unfortunately i have also just moved house and am waiting for internet installation (so cannot actually install bigbox yet). In the meantime i was at my partners house yesterday and decided to browse the site a bit to see what it was like. I decided to sign up to the forum and used my hotmail email and i got green ticks for passing everything like captcha etc, then as i hit confirm i was also surprised to be hit with an instant ban. The only thing i can think of is that, as it was a week after my bigbox purchase, i stupidly at first went to LOG IN instead of SIGN UP and as i couldnt remember if i had an account created when i gave my email for the initial download, i tried a few passwords i usually switch between to see if i had or not, ten when none worked i went to sign up instead. I also tried to use the "contact us" form on the site, which doesn't seem to be working as i dont have sent messages in either o my emails sent message tabs, and there is no area to actually put that on the form provided. Really i have two questions: 1) if i am banned (i dont know why because i haven't actually done anything wrong) will this negate my purchase which is actually linked to that email address? If so, how can i go about rectifying that as it seems a little unfair and 2) is it possible to somehow get that email account unbanned because it would be much easier for me to have one email across all my accounts such as this forum and emumovies, i really do not actually want to use this email i am currently using for anything except messages from my family EDIT: removed emails on advice
Greetings All After trying a few emulator front ends I have decided that I am going to stick with Launchbox. I tried Hyperspin/Rocketlauncher which I found more complicated than it needed to be. Also it wouldn't find any of my ROMS due to the naming issues. Wasn't going to rename ROMS so a program can find them. They should automatically launch from a ROMS folder.... I tried Emulationstation and found this to be more user friendly and setting up was a lot easier once you understand the command lines....YouTube beckoned and was a great help. Big shout to Simply Austin. Yes he waffles but he is very informative. I learnt a lot from this guy. I found out though that ES wasn't saving my PS1 games.... In both programs I was using Retroarch 1.7.1 as a main emulator. However I was never able to use any of the PSX or WinVice cores. They just wouldn't load. I tried updating them, inserting BIOS files but nothing worked. This was disappointing as I do like the onscreen borders that Retroarch applies. So I use ePSXe, ePXS2 and XVic instead. No borders though... I will be buying Big Box when funds allow. I do have one question though....Does anybody know how to get Retroarch to load cores. Mine doesn't load all Atari cores apart from the 7800 one, all WinVice and all PS1 cores. I have tried scanning for games....Made no difference. I tried installing Bios.....No change. Am I just going to have to bite the bullet and use separate emu's for these programs? I ask this because I would like borders if possible. Any advise would be appreciated. Rgds
