  1. Project 64 1.6 won't run when I choose a ROM in Launchbox. I tried making a batch file and pointing to that like in this thread https://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/28760-project64/ but it didn't help. Is there a fix that doesn't require me to download another version of PJ64? I don't want to risk getting malware. When I try to launch PS1 games PCSXR comes up like it's being run itself and I have to choose the game manually through the PCSXR menu. Is there a configuration to get games to launch without actually showing the emulator/background? The PC is a cheap old eMachines Windows 7 PC with a crappy integrated nvidia card from like 9 years ago, so I'm stuck with these two emulators. Can only run 2D Retroarch cores (so no n64/ps1 cores even though they work fine on Ubuntu. Guessing it's a lack of OpenGL or something, PCSXR needs D3D plugins to run full speed with Windows).

  4. Hi! I want to use PSX2PSP to convert all my games to .pbp (compressed format, recognized by RetroArc core Beetle PSX HW), but this software need to have only one .bin by games. When a game have more than one .bin, I need to combine them, and I don't want to do it one by one (I have 3000 games). I can't find something to batch it... (a friend made me a .bat that do it, but I have no more sound...) Thank you very much for your help !
  5. Shro2016 1:1 Pack - Sony PlayStation View File This file contains the complete 1:1 cover set for all Sony PlayStation games released in the US/EU regions plus a few extra Japanese releases (1,810 images in total). All files have been created by myself using the various repositories on the Internet for source materials and all have been adapted to suit the 1:1 file ratio and all have had a custom PlayStation overlay applied so that they appear uniform in the set. The file format is JPG to keep file size small and hopeful better performance on low spec machines. The file dimensions are all 500x500 1:1 Packs for other consoles will be added shortly. 7. Hi all, I have gathered a full set of US PSX games plus not a few PAL ones as well so my aim here is to save some space. After weeks of playing around and reading I have come up with different ways of combining games with multiple bins (normally audio tracks) into one, which is pretty straightforward to be honest. After this I tend to convert them into PBP files but since it is painfully taking a lifetime to convert every single game one by one I am seriously considering batch converting them to CHD. (I was using ePSXe first and now RA Mednafen HW). Everything is OK until this point BUT I have realised after combining bin files some games, they lose audio tracks and while playing I can hear, for instance, the sound effects but not the music. This has happened to me recently with Wipeout 3. My ideal world is to be able to: 1) Combine every single game to has just one cue/bin without losing any audio information and prepare them to 2) Batch conversion to CHD. This also without losing any kind of information from the prior cue/bin. Nor data or audio wise. My methods of combining bin files are: Daemon Tools Lite + Img Burn: mounting the .cue with Daemon in a virtual drive and creating and image from disc with the latter software. UltraIso: opening the .cue or main .bin and converting the game (again) into cue/bin. I am keen on suggestions of every kind or if you have a different workflow/pipeline for achieving this. Many thanks if you read this! This is driving me crazy.
  8. I am trying to configure my PS1 collection on Launchbox but I have a mix of NTSC & PAL roms. I am hoping to configure LB so that it will launch games in ePSXe with the region appropriate BIOS rom. I have tried using the "-bios <file>" command in LB but it did not have the desired outcome. Please can anybody help?

  12. Hello LaunchBox Community, What are your thoughts on Games DB and LaunchBox adding serials (like catalogue numbers)? An example will be SLUS-00001 which is for Air Combat. I think it is great to have it. Regards!

  14. Hi all, this may be more complex than a n00b question, however I wanted to post it here first as it is the first time I've asked anything on the forum (and, literally, I am a n00b to Big Box) So I finally splashed out on LB Premium, and have been impressed with how it runs (nearly!) all of my roms flawlessly, from PCSX2, to Dolphin all the way to SNES and Master System roms through RetroArch. However, I can't get any ps1 games to boot... The second I select it, the screen goes black like it is about to load, then it returns me back to BB. When I alt+tab, retroarch is indeed there, but the second I switch to it I hear the start of the PS1 boot tune then it freezes, and a window pops up saying it has stopped responding... end process etc. etc. I can get it to work fine when loading retroarch on its own... Also I can boot up any other Retroarch system through Big Box without issue. Currently, I'm running BB as a shortcut from Steam Big Picture so I can use the Steam Controller, then booting the games from there. That probably makes it more complex then I need it too, however it's the only way I can use the Steam Controller (therefore I need to use the Steam overlay as well... Which works fine in Retroarch... And seems to work fine with BB too...) Mostly I'm hoping it's something stupidly simple I've missed, another reason I've posted it here!... EDIT: Retroarch NEEDS to be in borderless fullscreen mode, in the video driver settings. Figured it out while looking for more info on using Steam Controller with Big Box... Changed thread title and added solution for anyone else as dumb as me
  15. im trying to play crash bandicoot on a ps1 emulator with retroarch. I downloaded retroarch. Got the bios files. Got the bin and cue files for bandicoot. Point the emulator to the bios files. (scph1001.bin,5500,5502) point emulator to rom file. Load cue file. i get a black screen and nothing happens. been at this for HOURS trying to figure out what is going on. Just to make sure i tried other places for the bios files. nope. Im not sure im doing this right. Im running windows btw. I just dont understand btw im using beetle HW psx emulator core. its the only one that is good for windows i think. i dont see any other emulator besides the arm one. Any advice and help? Thanks.
  16. I have read through the forums but can not find how to import all of my ps1 games. It is the latest US playstation redump collection with 1719 roms. I think they are all in bin and cue format. Only around 1450 import. I Did the rom scan and the missing games are found but at the end it says 0 games imported. I did see where someone said to delete the LB xml file but i did not see this in the newest version of LB in the root of the LB install folder. Any help would be greatly appreciated. N64 roms imported great. Thank You for any help with this.

So, there wasn't an actual category for this, so I put it here because I think it best suits what I'm doing. So, there is a theme that I love, and it utilizes the ability to set an individual controller graphic per game, so to help with this, I thought it would be nice to have a template. Right now I only have PS1 and PS2 controllers in there but I'll update periodically to include more controllers. I might even fill some out with in-game controls. Anyway, I think I saw somewhere that this might be implemented as a feature in a future LB build, but that might not be the case, regardless, I know that specific themes can take advantage of this, so for anyone using those themes, I hope this helps make your library look a bit cooler and more helpful

    Opinion on PS1 Dumps

Just curious on everyone's opinion on the best and cleanest PS1 dumps? Is there anything as clean and accepted like No-Intro?
  21. Hi folks, I got a question regarding some PS1 emulation. In particular when it comes to dithering. I'm one of those weird people who like the look of how old PS1 games feel, not necessarily how they originally look. So what I mean by that is that I want it to feel like I'm playing a PS1 game, not a slightly cheap looking PS2 game (which is what I feel like when I upscale PS1 games too much, add texture filtering etc). Also I don't necessarily like how they originally look like when stretch onto a HDTV, it is not give me a feeling of a PS1 game. So what I tend to do is to double the internal resolution and keep pretty much everything else the same, woobly textures and all For most games this looks great to me. Got that PS1 feeling without being overly pixelated! However, there are some games, most notably the original Silent Hill which really benefits from the PS1's dithering. It adds that nice grainy/noise to the game IMO. However, when running that through most emulators and doubling the internal resolution I feel a lot of the atmosphere just vanishes. There is a great section here about it http://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/PlayStation_emulators but I thought I'd ask here if anyone has any good tips and have experimented with mednafen and/or PCSX-reARMed to achieve this effect while scaling the internal resolution and how successful they were? My backup plan would be to just accept the lower resolution and run it through Xebra or something which retains the dithering very well. Cheers
  22. Quick check. I've forgotten as I'm already ripping, but does Imgburn accurately rip bin/cue files? I'm on disc 2 of FFVIII and just had this thought in the back of my mind that somewhere I'd read that the cue sheet was mis-timed and something like cdrwin was recommended. I might not be recollecting correctly, though. Should I expect the output to be ok in others' experience?
  23. Hey guys! Ive got my computer hooked up to my flat screen TV via HDMI. When I start emulation my TV seems to disconnect as my computer screen shows the game intro.. Can anyone please help out? Isnt it possible to have a two screen set up for epsxe? ;( Thanx!!
  24. Hi there, For some reason, Retroarch through Launchbox will not open any of my PS1 games. When I double-click the game, nothing even opens. When I opened open Retroarch outside of Launchbox, the game doesn't open either. I've switched to ePSXe, but I like the Retroarch much better. I'm using Mednafen. Doesn't that emulator open .bin files? Am I using the wrong files? I've tried both .bin and .cue files and both don't work. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
