WoodPanels has the old school retro feel of playing games on an old TV in a room with bad, green carpeting, but golden wooden paneled walls. The video game console or platform appears above or beside the television to match that look and feel. It is paired with a set of 8-bit fonts to complete the experience. Designed for 16:9 screens on a 1080p monitor (need feedback on different resolutions) Platform navigation features device images for 40 platforms. Games list view features device images for 40 platforms with support for game videos, game 3D/2D box art, game cart images (SNES, N64, Genesis, 32X, and Jaguar only). Consoles are paired with one of four different TVs from the same decade they were released (70s, 80s, 90s, 00s) "Wall View" for looking at game boxes on shelves is accompanied by the platform logo and image of the original console packaging. WoodPanels Startup Video is here! Alternate all-wood background available below, just unzip it under Launchbox/Themes/ and overwrite the default one. Trailer: Instructions: 1. Unzip in LaunchBox/Themes/WoodPanels. In BigBox under Options>Views>Theme> choose "WoodPanels" 2. To ensure you're viewing the image of the console and TV alongside the game list, go into the BigBox Menu (hit Esc on your keyboard or back on your controller) and select "View Platforms". 3. To view the carousel of devices in your platform view, go into Options>Views>Platform List View> and select "Platform Wheel 1". 4. Lastly, to make sure you keep this view the next time you start BigBox, go into Options>Views>Default Startup View> and select "Platforms". 5. For N64, SNES, Jaguar, Genesis, and Sega 32X, you need to download the game cart images AND you need to set your LaunchBox settings so your fallback images are disabled for this, otherwise when you have a missing game cart image it will pull something else and look...bad. LaunchBox Options>Legacy>Images>Cart Front Priorities>Uncheck all but "Cart - Front" 6. To enable a the "Wall View", change BigBox Options>Views>Games List View>Wall View. Switch it back to "Text List with Details" if you decide to go back. To Do: Need to add MSX platform device image, gameslistview, box PS1 gameslist image missing power light Super Nintendo gameslist image missing power light Nintendo 64 gameslist image missing power light Dreamcast gameslist image missing power light 3DO device image doesn't match gameslist or box images Commodore Amiga device image doesn't match gameslist or box images NeoGeo portable color device image doesn't match box or gamelist image Sega CD box doesn't match gameslist or device image PS1 box image doesn't match gameslist image
  2. These custom console themed overlays were edited and assembled by me to play your retro console games with a unique nostalgic bezel on Retroarch. Please enjoy and have fun. Please give me credit and the others involved if you use it on your Youtube channel. Thanks. Most of the original artwork came from ReignStumble. Credit is given to RetroKenesis for the bezel frames. You can download all my console themed overlays here - http://bit.ly/2nbRtPs Here's a Tutorial on how to add them to Retroarch.
  3. I am curently running Mame version 0.139. I tried using retroarch for Mame but i always ran into sound and video issues but it opened all my games fine with launchbox! I decided to just use the stand alone emulator but now when I import my games the games they don't open. Nothing happens. If i launch the games inside of the emulator itself the games boot just fine. What should I do?
  4. FluxCRT View File FluxCRT is a relatively simple text view-based retro theme. It's designed for 16:9 monitors and displays filter and game videos (or screenshots) in a 4:3 format, using the Ao.Bigbox.Themer video engine. FluxCRT applies a CRT barrel distortion effect when using Windows Media Player. It's bundled with a collection of category, playlist, and platform banners; to which one can easily add their own banners. Due to its reliance on certain plugin features, the current version of this theme requires LB version 10+. CUSTOMIZATION: See bundled PDF documents. FluxCRT was designed and tested on a 1920x1080 display with 100% (default) text scaling, so you might need to adjust the font sizes (should pertain to options page only) if your display is otherwise; edit the font sizes at the top part of FluxCRT.xaml in the Styles directory as needed. WOOTLAUNCHER INTEGRATION: FluxCRT integrates with WootLauncher... WootLauncher-v1.3.mp4 https://forums.launchbox-app.com/files/file/1619-wootlauncher/ EMULATOR OVERLAYS: These overlays should pair nicely with this theme: NOTE: Unblocking the ZIP file will also unblock the DLLs (e.g., Ao.Bigbox.Themer.dll and others) contained therein, giving your computer permission to run these DLLs. This is an issue with all plugins you might download from this forum. It's a Windows security feature. You basically have to vouch for a file before Windows will use it. I liken it to how a MS office document you download from an email runs in Protected Mode until you unblock it for printing, editing, etc. Below is the error you'll see if you don't unblock the file, as well as a screenshot of the solution. TurboGrafx-CD Complete! This is possibly the most accurate set you'll find on the scene! Including 3D case art for all retail, proto, and a bunch of unlicensed games! Thanks to @Kondorito for some sources to help complete this project! ENJOY!
  10. I've got LauchBox Premium. I've also got a 'Retro Achievements' which used to work in the past, as I've got 200 points or whatever (which may have been before installing Launch Box - can't remember). I tried playing a few NES games using NEStopia through LB, hit a few achievements, but I'm not seeing it in either RA or, subsequently, Launch Box. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

This is a simple MS-DOS based theme for BigBox. After the new release of Launchbox on MS-DOS, I realized "Wow... This simplicity just feels so much better!" So I went ahead and started making this. It is my very first Bigbox theme, so chances are there will be stuff that's not correct. If so, please comment so I can try and fix it. The design is based on (As in pretty much ripped off) Launchbox for MS-DOS. This theme is meant to be used with the view "Text list with details" for both Platforms and Games. Do away with all those clunky boxes, videos and logos, and just enjoy the simplicity the good old days. NOTE: Install the font included with the theme! Perfect DOS VGA 437 NOTE2: Goes best with my sound pack here:

For information about the BigBox theme "WoodPanels" please go here. This is a startup video I created for my theme. It features a logo for "Nescade" which is what I call my multi-emulator PC, as it sits inside of an old Nintendo's shell. I commissioned Rushjet1 a while back to compose an original piece of 8-bit music specifically for this video. Hope you all enjoy it! Instructions for use: Place video file in the LaunchBox folder under /Videos/Startup/

  15. Hi fellow Retro Monkeys. I am finally settled in Ireland with an awesome 500mbps connection and main Rig built and doing great for PC Gaming and everyday Work/Use. Now the time has come to build me a Retro Gaming only Micro-ATX rig. Nothing extravagant, just enough to run everything from GB all the way to GC/PS2 and maybe PS3 if emulator permits. Budget is less than 400GBP (I use Amazon UK). So far I have a build on both PC Part Picker and Amazon UK. I already have a 4TB WD Red NAS Drive for LaunchBox and ROMs. That's my limit for now. Use Poll to vote for best build, even though difference between the two is minimal at best, tell me what you guys think after voting. Thanks

  18. Sega Genesis 3D Box Art View File Ok. So I tried to be as creative with this set as possible. There were alot of different packaging variants for the Sega Genesis. I think I got all of them right. Slide covers, unfold covers, pull offs, and Cases. I included tons of Hack Cases I made from scratch. I Included 3 different variants for Revenge of shinobi, as there are different versions for that game with significant differences! I hope you guys enjoy this pack, It's one of my favorite ones I've worked on I will upload the other Sega Mega Drive Regions soon. Submitter RetroKenesis Submitted 05/12/2018 Category Game Box Art

Just thought i'd share these playlist clear logos i created after not being able to find the ones i needed. I used a clear logo template from this site (VIKING) .....thanks These need to be placed in the playlist clear logo folder and renamed to your playlist name (unless you have named them exactly the same as these). Clear logos are as follows : Beat em up, Shoot em up, Shooters, Puzzle, Vs fighters, Sports, Run and Gun, Platformers, Light Gun, .....they all have a silver ring which ive given a retro look This is my first upload so hope you all enjoy....just hoping someone will now create the playlist videos to match ...big thanks to the original creators of the Jukebox/Arcade and Light gun icons
  22. Hi, I am looking for a way to auto save high scores and for them to auto loads when I play the game. I'm not sure of anything to do as I can have save states but I feel like there must be something someone has made that can do this as I want to have my whole retro machine never needing a keyboard to do anything once I am happy on where it is at. I don't want something that will save all the time where if i was playing double dragon I wouldn't want it to save the game play just the high scores saved as if I need to save the games like on zelda link to the past I would be able to save the game and the rom does that for me. I guess i want the same thing just to save the high scores so me and others can see who's doing the best etc. Any help would be great thank you
  23. RetrAO Cafe View File Enjoy the nostalgic inducing feel of the 80's and 90's era with bright neons, MORE NEONS, the latest in cinematic VHS and the good Ol' CRT effects that will surely awaken the inner 80's child in you. RetrAO Cafe started as a theme variation of "Minimal-AO" by @eatkinola with the main focus of recreating a tribute to the golden era of gaming that bloomed through the arcades and home consoles with customized artwork and retro overlay effects that compliments the gaming pop-culture from the past. RetrAO Cafe at its core is based on eatkinola's Minimal-AO thus they share the same Recommendation Setup and general guidelines of the original theme. Moving forward there will be three versions of the RetrAO Cafe theme: RetrAO Cafe Classic - This will be the 2017 theme build but with the fixes and quality of life improvements to make it compatible to LB 9.4+ updates. As such, please be aware that this theme will only work on systems with LB 9.4 and above. RetrAO Cafe 2.0 - This major overhaul of the theme have been in development for 2 years and includes more than 70 customization options and new features and views, etc. Coming soon RetrAO Cafe Lite - This version of the theme is intended to use light resources for weaker systems and special hardwares such as GPD Win and Pi systems. The development of this theme will continue after the release of RetrAO Cafe Classic and RetrAO Cafe 2.0 RetrAO Cafe Classic v1.0 Changelog: RetrAO Cafe Showcase: Installation Guide: Extract RetrAO Cafe Classic folder in "RetrAO_Cafe_ Classic.zip" to ...\LaunchBox\Themes Read the supplied text file in the Fonts folder and install theme fonts as per the guideline instructions IMPORTANT: RetrAO Cafe Classic uses plugins as of v1.0 so make sure you unblock the plugins found in ...\LaunchBox\Themes\RetrAO Cafe Classic\Plugins by highlighting Grila's plugin and then mouse right-click-->properties-->then scroll down and check "unblock"-->Apply Choose RetrAO Cafe Classic in Options > Views > Theme Set Video Playback Engine to VLC in Options > Videos Refresh the platform wheel cache under options Restart Big Box OPTIONAL: In order to fully enjoy the theme download the "RetrAO_Cafe_MEDIA_V2.zip" and follow the guidelines on how install Big Box Intro and add additional Background Videos as per the supplied instruction text files Downloads: RetrAO_Cafe_Classic.zip: CORE theme file ---> Contains the Theme folder and the Fonts folder that are the only requirement to use this theme (144 MB) RetrAO_Cafe_MEDIA_V2.zip: Optional but highly recommended additional media and theme backgrounds that will enhance the nostalgic experience of the theme (367 MB) Credits: @Jason Carr - The BRAINS (Launchbox and Big Box creator) @eatkinola - The Architect (Minimal-AO creator, coding senpai) @SNAK3ATER - The Designer (RetrAO Cafe landlord) @Grila - The Wizard (Many thanks for the ListBox Scroll Center Plugin for BigBox) Special thanks and credit goes to @eatkinola for granting his permission and assisting me in finalizing the theme for LB 9.4+. @ea4492 for the use of his Neon Platform Clear Logos and @keltoigael for granting his permission to include the awesome CityHunter background videos that can be found in the additional media folder in the download section (only included video is CyberPunk 2077, check out the rest of his amazing work Here). This pack includes Boxes for all games Exclusive to Europe, as well as some that were released in both Europe and Japan, or Europe and USA. I keep games and boxes in my sets that are the same but, that have regional differences. For Example, Castlevania Bloodlines (USA) has a blood fountain, where as in Castlevania - The New Generation, has a water fountain. Enjoy!
