You can set the ui cancel to work with a button combo also in MAME and use any buttons you want I use left thumb and start to exit MAME and left thumb and select as the tab key

Ah, good to know. I just use dpad up and down to open/close and left and right to save/load state and have pause on right thumbstick click.

You can simply use this AHK code to ensure ANYTHING closes with the Guide button:

automation doesn't work for bluMSX either.    MAME and blueMSX is what i've run into so far.  I'm having a very hard time figuring a way to quit out of Colecovision games running on blueMSX.

I put that into the AutoHotkey script,  and well it worked like a charm!!!   Thank you Lordmonkus.   Feels like this should be in some documentation somewhere.  They need a Launchbox wiki on this site, with a AutoHotKey script section for each emulator.

Well we do have a wiki but its not exactly updated, no one seems to be up to taking it on.

We do however have this thread here specifically for AHK scripts.
