Cleaning up duplicate images?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am a big fan of Launchbox keep up the good work!

Not sure how I did it (i have several theories) but i seem to have obtained several duplicate images in many games across platforms, from boxes to screen shots logos etc....

Does anyone recommend any utilities or methods for getting rid of these? Other than starting over again.

Thanks!

i just tried duplicate file fixer and its very good but it isnt free. but not sure how much the trial can do.  edit only 15 files on the trial :(

I used a program called "Awesome Duplicate Photo Finder", which is free, and can find images that look the same, but may be different resolutions and file types.  It takes a some time, as you need to manually examine the results, but it does a great job of cleaning up duplicated images.

Seems to work good so far....unfortunately it seems i have to manually delete them all....not sure if there is a way to just delete all that match 100% at once? I could be missing something. This will be a long night  :lol

I have not used the program for a while, but I am sure there was a way to have it select all the images that were 100% match, which you could then delete all selected.  Will try to have a look at it tonight.

personally, I use Duplicate Media Finder.
This software can find your photos saved in different formats (even if they have been retouched).
@snoopaloop83 You don't have to manually delete them one by one. It finds the duplicate files and lets you chose what you want to do with them.
