lauch box crashed and says something is corrupted

So your Settings.xml seems to have gotten corrupted some how. Make a backup of the currently broken XML at that path it shows you. Go in to your backup folder and see if there is a Settings.xml in your backup folder and place the backup in the Data folder where the corrupted one was. See if it will load then. Otherwise, removing the corrupted Settings.xml will make a new one, and it should work after that, but all of your settings will have been reset.

If you open a corrupted xml file in NP++ sometimes you can find the issue in the text and fix it yourself I've had it be as simple as the > being cut off of the end of a line and adding it back in fixes it.

Yea, but knowing where that is can be a pain in the ass.

Not really NP++ will mark that line red indicating there is an error. I'm not saying that this always works if you were to lose multiple lines of text this wouldn't really help you but if it is a simple keystroke that is breaking it why not just fix it.
