Request Controls Icons (Already Submitted request but want to discuss)

I was wondering if there is a way to add a place for controls/controller icons. Purpose/example:

In my DOS collection there are some games i am able to play with a controller/joystick and others I am able to play with Keyboard and Mouse. It would be cool to see an Icon of say a controller (allow different controller icons to be selected such as PS4 or XBOX360/ONE Controller) or a Keyboard/Keyboard Mouse.

This would also be beneficial for Wii Games since they use various controllers and controller addons this would help to quickly see what controller would need/supported to be used (such as the wiimote, nunchuck, pro controller...)

Icon Ideas:

Xbox 360/one, PS4, Wiimote, wii nunchuck, Wii pro controller, arcade stick, nes, snes, keyboard, mouse, KB/Mouse, joystick

Nice idea, similar to the "Mark as Broken" option in Big Box that adds that little icon.

Absolutely needed. In my arcade bartop there are many games that you can't play using the arcade joysticks. It would be really useful to see that so people don't have to try the game to know. Great idea!

Yeah, GREAT idea, or at least make it so people can somehow share this for each platform.

Automated would be nice, but I still want to be able to edit/change it myself. Also it should be able to show more than 1 icon if more input types are supoported

I'm with Ruester on being able to edit/change it and being able to have multiple support icons when that is an option. Of course, someone needs to purchase or create the art etc. But I'll admit, this is a clever idea that would be useful. I think of my front end as a hands on museum of sorts and it's nice for users to be able to see which controller to pick up and use when playing with it.

I am thinking transparent PNG files.

Do them much like the way Nintendo does for their Wii box art when they denote compatible controllers

The beauty of it all is that depending on how it is implemented, people could just make and download Icon packs to fit their theme or style

Just wanted to show how they can have different styles

Keep in mind the icons will most likely be only a couple hundred pixels across so any fine details will be lost.
