i have over 10tb storage a question

hi im thinking what i should do i was thinking on building a plex server with tv shows movies but i also wanna build a game library with pc games emulators with a over 10tb storage you can build quite alot i gues all emulator games and pc games i was aiming on getting over 100tb i wil have that soon:)

my server is over 60TB but that is with 2 copies of the files so yeah depending on what you want to do 10TB can be nothing.

i have alittle over 10tb atm maybe 13tb but im buying evry month a external drive of 8 tb so yeh it wil be full soon my server mostly atm im downloading tv shows movies but with emulators pc games only it should be enough

Remember that just because you have the space doesn't mean you're obligated to fill it up. Keep it around and use it for the things you really care about collecting :)

wel i just bought another 8tb hardrive so i have over 20 tb atm first i trought lets start a plex media server for tv shows and movies but downloading tv shows is to mutch time so i went back to gaming again.

For those in the dark, how does Plex work and what hardware do you need to build a Plex Server? I just ended up buying a very long and expensive HDMI cable to plug my computer to the TV. Reading these comments I feel like I'm way behind in tech.

Plex is a server client system. You install the server software on a pc preferably with a bit of horsepower for transcoding needs, then you install the client on other pc's. pi's, phones, game consoles etc. The client then streams the movie/tv show from the server to the client, either local or over the internet.

i use plex on my pc and stream to my tv which is down stairs no cable needed in my front room on my 3d smart tv.

Yeah same, and roku's and fire tv sticks as well, plex clients are on pretty much every device these day's.

Plex for PC natively works with controllers out of the box.

Go to Monoprice.com, they have HDMI cables for less than a dollar a foot. The quality is excellent for the price paid and I have about 30 digital cables from them with no failures in 5 years.
