Community rating is a great idea!  Couple questions:  Can they be added to the list view grid in Launchbox so we can sort by star rating and community rating?  Also, can community rating be added to the playlist auto-populate options?  Would love to auto-populate a playlist with community five star games.

Also, it would be great if star rating could be set in the bulk edit window.  That way favorite playlists could be quickly set to a specific star #.

I like both of these.

Yeah, definitely need all of these. There are a lot of places in LaunchBox that I still need to add community rating. Hopefully I can get these in before the official release.

@Jason Carr could you add a way to scrape the community rating only? Currently it seems to scrape the entire game info, and I've had issues in the past with info being over written by the "Download Metadata and Media" wizard, even when selecting the option to not update existing data.

Unfortunately I probably won't add a separate process because it's a lot of work for very little return. If there's an issue with data being overwritten by the wizard, I need to know the specific details so I can get it fixed, rather than ignoring it and adding a separate process.

That makes sense. I've noticed when I scrape games that have titles I have changed, they revert to the title in the LB database.

I wanted to report a bug. It seems that when you go to the separate view types (i.e. View Genres, View Developers, View Series etc.) the alphanumeric shortcuts get stuck on the first instance of a value beginning with the word "The". I've got two examples of this below. The first is when I scroll through the View Developer option, it gets stuck on "The Edge". The next issue is under the View Series option where I get stuck on the developer "The Addams Family".

IMG_0027.thumb.JPG.0a6b9cc6f1dc854e3e0828e0d6d22b3d.JPGIMG_0026.thumb.JPG.7bf73366f3003f70cc6b29ba11979f48.JPGAs you can see, even though I'm currently on the letters M and J and in the examples above, I'm stuck on the first instance of a value beginning with "The". When I scroll down to the letter U, it automatically fixes this problem. Therefore the issue is that it recognizes values that begin with "The" as beginning with the letter T, not E for "The Edge" or A for "The Addams Family" and it won't fix itself until the next letter value U appears. I've tried doing with with "A" and "An" prefixes, but this issues seems to only happen with the "The" prefix. This happens for all of the view types. Can you please fix this?

Edit: Just created a BitBucket ticket for this issue if you care to look: https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/3590/alphanumeric-navigation-glitched-on-view

Just got this :(

image.thumb.png.60ba4657a67a0b55f8a8051dbd318154.png

I've been getting these same kinds of crashes lately, as well, but not very frequently; they occur while going through different games in my collections and only happens in BB mode.

I was also getting them once the startup videos were changed to be played back, natively, in the LB/BB engine. About 1 in 5 times, BB would crash right after the startup video finished. I've disabled Startup videos for now and haven't seen anyone mention it, so figured it was probably something on my end causing it.

I haven't been using BB since the latest beta - I've only gotten them in LB. It's just while clicking around on different games.

I am finding a bunch of games in NES (using Retroarch) where achievements are listed in RA, achievements can be unlocked, and they show up on the retroacheivements website, but are not displaying in Bigbox.  ("No achievements available")  Yet some games are working fine.  For example, Castlevania loads achievements, but Castlevania II & III do not.

I had the option of retroachievements enabled in Retroarch, however now that the Launchbox also has the option I was wondering if I leave it configured in Retroarch and Launchbox at the same time or if I have to leave in only one.

You will still need it enabled in retroarch, Launchbox only shows your achievements it does not unlock them that is the emulators job, in your case retroarch.

Thanks all, wanted to update everyone; I'm back into the development mix here now that the holidays and Black Friday are over. I'm looking into all these issues and I should likely have a beta out either later today or tomorrow. :)

It started after I matched a few DOS games to the database and deleted a couple. When I restarted it afterwards, it crashes constantly.

Edit: But BigBox works fine? Weird.

That makes sense. I've noticed when I scrape games that have titles I have changed, they revert to the title in the LB database.

I think I figured out the issue in the code there. It was only happening for games that were not previously connected with a LaunchBox Games Database ID. When a new connection is found, it was overwriting the title. I've fixed this so it doesn't happen in the next beta. :)
