Retrofrogg 207 Posted December 22, 2017 When editing a platform, you can set the folder locations for all the media types. This includes "videos", but I don't see an option for theme videos. Are these kept in the same folder, or is there just no option to set the folder for this?
neil9000 2,141 Posted December 22, 2017 Do you mean the platform videos? If so that's in the first tab "Details" and is third from bottom.
Retrofrogg 207 Posted December 22, 2017 No, I don't mean platform videos - I mean the "theme" videos, for individual games.
Belgarath 103 Posted December 22, 2017 Theme videos go in LaunchBox\Videos\<platform>\Theme Unfortunately there is no option to set this, not sure why @Jason Carr ?

Just hasn't really been requested and therefore I never added it. So let's call this the first request. 1
Retrofrogg 207 Posted December 22, 2017 (edited) That would be great, cheers. Videos take up a lot of space and I like to set my video folder onto an external drive. Edit: guess there is always mklink in the meantime... Edited December 23, 2017 by Dan
mcfilmmakers 272 Posted December 22, 2017 What's the difference between LaunchBox\Videos\<platform>\Theme\gametitle.mp4 and LaunchBox\Videos\<platform>\gametitle.mp4 exactly?
neil9000 2,141 Posted December 22, 2017 The theme folder is for the James Baker game videos that can be downloaded during import, they are not strictly speaking game video snaps as they are custom made, so they go into a separate theme folder.
mcfilmmakers 272 Posted December 22, 2017 but there actually literally is no difference?
DOS76 1,508 Posted December 22, 2017 very much different one is actual game footage and the other is a custom made video that incorporates characters or boxes in with a video much more elaborate. I could easily record a game snap but couldn't make one of James videos.
neil9000 2,141 Posted December 22, 2017 Well you could have both with the theme folder, so a normal snap and a theme video. Obviously you could not have both of those in the standard video folder as they would be named the same and if you tried adding one it would ask you to overite the other, so this is how its handled, and there is a option in bigbox to prioritize the theme videos over the standard snaps. Edit, And yeah what @DOS76 said.
mcfilmmakers 272 Posted December 23, 2017 (edited) Right, that makes sense.... but isn't it redundant? I mean, if you're not using the video snaps, just put the theme video in the normal spot in the first place.
