For the poll option "visual icon/indicator for broken games", would it possible to have this for completed games as well (launchbox not big box)?

Xpadder support would be great to see so I can use different profiles per system/game for platforms which are difficult to setup a controller

For my cab I use additional apps to load profile needed and load a blank profile after game closes. This is where bulk edit additional apps should be a standard feature IMO. For example MUGEN launches per EXE so does not use an emulator. Would be nice to add additional apps per system as well. But having to add yer xpadder profile per game is very tedious. Bulk edit or add additional apps to a ‘system’ would solve this.

Not sure if this is already a feature but i'd like to see a filter for games with RetroAchievements.

Also as I'm from the UK I would like an automated way to prioritise PAL box art as well as refering to the Genesis as the Mega Drive without having to manually edit.

I think Jason is possibly planning on implementing a new icon labeling system that can work within BigBox also. Those are 2 examples, but there are more than can be very useful too... such as number of players, number of discs/versions, a flag representing region/country... and so on. These would be really cool to have and also have the ability to enable or disable which ones you want in settings.

Just out of curiosity, have you tried filtering the voting by free vs. paid license users?  Are the results similar?

I really thought an android app would be number one on the list.

Just goes to show i think that people who use Launchbox on Windows like the flexibility/power that a Windows PC provides, especially as there are emulators that are not available on Android.

Suggestion: Option to import library and link account from steam, itch.io, gog, battlenet, origin, uplay and epic games. Also being able to add non-downloaded games from either of these services would be awesome

Ability to transition media from hyperspin to launchbox without space usage. This should be totally doable. Hyperspin has a specific file structure. I would like the ability to use the same media but in launchbox without remapping the world.

Ability to use hyperspin themes. Seriously this is the single reason why hyperspin is still being used by me. (It’s understood that there was a mame video recording of themes) it’s a nice work around but literally I have 1000’s of themes across all systems.

I'm so happy " Add Sort By Options to Big Box " got included since I couldnt make it to the stream, one of the things I've wanted for a long time is a way to sort the platforms in Big Box by release date instead of alphabetically

Honestly I hope feature bloat isn't going to balloon install sizes and impact performance of the emulated games.  What good will this kitchen sink front end be if games start to run poorly and the front end takes a long time to start?  Not everyone is running LB on Core i9-9900K s with twin Titan GPUs and 64 GB of RAM.   Some use retired PCs that are of lower spec to be used just for emulators.  Also all of the increased disk use will kill people's SSDs.   I thought the original vision was to quickly load games as easy as possible?  If featuritis sets in we may lose that.   If this is the direction it is going to go I may have made a mistake in buying the lifetime paid version.  I may suggest that if this gets out of control maybe a "lite" version would be a good idea for those that just want to use it to load games quickly and don't need to stream to social media, record your games, write constant stats to your drive, capture screens, critique your playing, phone your mom and do the dishes all at the same time.

This is currently not a problem and likely to not be one either.

And no one is right now.

Launchbox has never been the "lightweight" frontend, if you need something more lightweight there are other options out there.

This is just untrue unless you are using an early gen SSD. The current gen SSDs have just as much "useage" in them as mechanical drives.

Launchbox has always gone this direction, adding new features. You can always disable updates if you wish to not receive them.

More processes starting up will take more resources and more time to load, it has to.

Maybe some people do have early SSDs or older HDDs who knows who has what hardware.  All SSDs are more sensitive to errors, a bad error can take down a whole drive, which is more likely if it is constantly writing.

What are some of the good lightweight ones?  Any suggestions?

LB won't be loading up "more processes".

By that argument maybe some people are using 10 year old mechanical drives on the verge of failure.

All drives even mechanical can have catastrophic failures. Moving parts are just as prone (or more so) than non moving parts.

I don't know what's out there currently, I have no reason to look since Launchbox runs fine on all 3 of my systems including a 15+ year old toaster.

More features do not equate to more "processes", nor does it necessarily affect startup time. Most people here can attest to the fact that LaunchBox these days starts up faster than it used to, not slower. There's nothing to worry about here, just as there has never been in the past.

If you're worried about SSD writes, do you put Windows on an SSD? Because Windows is worse than LaunchBox will ever be...

The lack of love for Linux depresses me.

I can understand that. Android is at least a step in the right direction though. We've been trying, as observed by the poll we put out some time last year. We just didn't really get enough of a positive response.
