TRS-80 in Mess / Mame - No luck with Disks

Recommended Posts

Hey folks,

Seeking some assistance.

I have a new Mame set up with Mess added to the folder (I couldn't get TRS80 to run w/out MESS in the Mame folder).

I got Carts/roms to play through launchbox with the following command line: coco3 -cart

but for the life of me I can't disks to play. I've tried: coco3 -cart -flop1  - I've tried coco3 -flop1 -cart - I've tried coco3 -flop

Extra information - I have the Mess roms and all the games (disk and carts) in the ROM folder.

Any help would be appreciated.

I just use MAME (no MESS).

For floppy games (I've only come across 3) use the parameters
coco3 -flop1

At the BASIC screen prompt for Pacman type
RUN "PACMAN" and press Enter.

At the BASIC screen prompt for Donkey Kong type
RUN "DONKEY" and press Enter.

At the BASIC screen prompt for Donkey Kong Remix type
LOADM "DKREMIX" :EXEC and press Enter.
There will be a long wait here before this game opens !

simpler commands to run the games.

Is there no way to get it to auto play? The Roms/Carts work automatically.

Also,  how do I put both commands? coco3 -flip1 -cart ?

As there are only 3 as far as I know floppy games, you could use coco3 -cart as the platform's default parameters and use coco3 -flop1 as a custom parameter for each floppy game.
