hi there

I have added sega model 3 big box and launch box

and every game the aspect ratio is different I have the widescreen box ticked and it is 1920x1080 resolution Within the emulator

for instance on Sega Rally to the bottom and the top or missing like the screen is too big

Scud racer the bios screen for the game has massive text

Then I will put sega rally 2  on again And it won’t show me the sega logo it will just lead straight to the car selection screen and the screen is blown up that much that you can’t even see the car you can just see pixels of the background and i have kept the resolution the same

ps the emulator is not in window mode

any help would be really appreciated thank you

Are you using Supermodel3UI? (a launcher for supermodel.exe). If so, don't use that with LaunchBox. Add supermodel.exe to LaunchBox instead.

In Supermodel\Config\Supermodel.ini, with which resolutions have you set up Supermodel to render your games in? Something like this:

XResolution=1920
YResolution=1080
New3DEngine=1
FullScreen=1
WideScreen=1
Stretch=0
VSync=1

You can try changing some settings in Supermodel.ini. (1 = on, 0 = off)

You can also give this a try:

Hi Overlord

So my tv is 4k and the pc resolution is 3840x2160 which is recommended so i guess my tv is the same.

i have set up the emulator within the supermodel3ui and config the controls ect.

are you saying that when I do the resolution ect on the supermodel3ui it might not of saved it to the supermodel ini?

when i first set up the emulator i tried to do the resolution for 3840x2160 but it wasn’t on the Drop down so I typed it in manually with the little box with the dots and on the right inside and When it didn’t work I then changed the resolution to 1920x1080 and still the screen wasnt right.

so if you think this is the right thing to do I will change on the supermodel ini file using notepad and save to make sure if not then i will change the properties on the supermodel exe

when I change the ini do you mean globally or do you mean game specifically?

also what command line parameters do I need for setting up the emulator could you send me a screenshot of what it should look like please

also i have checked attempt to hide console window on start up/ shutdown

another quick question while I’m here when I load up Sega Rally 2 The title screen music sounds really weird it’s hard to explain but it sounds like it’s playing too fast and like there’s two playing at once any idea what that would be?

Thank you for your help

No, I wasn't sure if you added SupermodelUI or Supermodel.exe to LaunchBox as the emulator. Using SupermodelUI to configure Supermodel.ini is fine I guess.

You could check Supermodel.ini manually if the resolution is saved. If not, enter your desired resolution.

XResolution=3840
YResolution=2160

In my previous comment I linked to a thread with a possible solution for your resolution problem. Have you tried that? I once had the same problem as you and it worked for me. (I also use Supermodel on a 4k screen.) I will quote myself from that thread:

"Right click supermodel.exe > Properties > Compatibility > High DPI Settings > Tick the checkbox "Ignore scaling" and select "Application"."

Globally.

You can set up Supermodel in Supermodel.ini, including per game settings. In that case you don't need (per game) command-line parameters. I don't use them for Supermodel.

I have 'Hide Console Window' checked as well.

Sega Rally 2 needs PowerPCFrequency set to 100. You can do this per game. Add the model 3 rom name to the bottom of Supermodel.ini between square brackets. The rom name must exactly match, including different regions. Beneath the rom name you can add settings that will only apply for that game. For Sega Rally 2:

[srally2]
PowerPCFrequency=100

Hi Overlord

I have sorted it out and the game is working perfectly now the screen is perfect and the sound is perfect so I just needed to do that setting in properties and it worked👍🏻

To set up Sega model 3 is it a similar process or is it harder to do

Once again thanks for your help
