i was advised to disable the startup screen and it worked! note there are 2 however and i think it was the one under "options/Game Start up" that did the tricks. the other is "options/general" which i disabled first but it didnt fix the problem. hope it helps too as its such a relief it not crashing constantly!

mame .207 and Kega. both caused bigbox to crash but not anymore once disabling the in game startup screen

Hi there, this issue has been raised before but has yet to be answered/solved so far as I could see. I went through the forum and doesn't seem to be much input from technical staff so not sure if this will fall on deaf ears. Anyways new to Bixbox but the program is crashing after exiting games regardless of the platform. These games work fine within Launchbox and their standalone emulators. Some people have this issue and others not. Any clues as to which way to go? I don't mind rolling back to an earlier version of Bigbox but can't find it on the download page. TIA Swiddzy

ditto here. not sure if ever worked prior as only just started using big box but roms in MAME and other emulators work fine outside of bigbox from launchbox and emulator itself but crashes when exiting out of big box. BB seems to be the issue. We're not imagining things here tis a real problem! ?
