    I believe the KB shortcut to exit Demul from within Demul (all versions) was alt-F4.  Try this one to see if it works.

    $Esc::
    {
      Send !{F4}
      Return
    }

    This should force-close Demul, and should work with pressing ESC and controller automation.

    I also found this script in the AHK post in the forums here, not sure if it still works or not through. If the above one doesn't you can try this to see if it still works:

    $Esc::
    {
         WinClose, ahk_class window ahk_exe demul.exe

    Hope this helps,
    CDBlue

    Edit: Here's a direct link to the thread in these forums where people have been posting AHK scripts and questions relating to emulators and LB/BB -

    Hey thanks for reply, i already tried the first, and now i tried the 2nd... they didnt work, dont know why... controller automation IS WORKING, i can Pause, i can increase and decrease volume... but no exit... dont know why...

    Meanwhile i add a side app (xpadder), and then i had to add a line to close xpadder when it closes the emulator, it end up being like this:

    Launch Xpadder before emulator as side app, then in xpadder i mapped buttons "coin & start" "select & start" or the buttons that i used to exit, one for HOLD and one for EXIT, and mapped them to number 8 and number 9...

    Then in the AHK i put this (first command to close demul and second to close Xpadder) it works just fine and i think i'll leave it like this cos they are only 3 games with demul and it doesnt worth the hussle.

    8 & 9::
    {
        Process, Close, {{{StartupEXE}}}
        Process, Close, Xpadder [5.7].exe

    }

    Sorry my mistake, you need to access the folder via command prompt first.

    shell:AppsFolder

    image.thumb.png.c8abbfb99dcb3ca8cc90df1c2d76f467.pngForza Horizon 4 in my Gamepass.

    image.thumb.png.24cbe07345d0357032b9162381b8e627.pngAnd here it is imported into Launchbox.

    Thanks, seems really easy... i'll try this later.

  3. Hi, i've an issue with this Demul Version, i use this one cos i'm trying to use it in a DX10 PC, so newer versions can exit normally, but not this version or previous to this one.

    I tried using:

    1- No AHK

    2-

    $Esc::
    {
            Process, Close, {{{StartupEXE}}}
    }

    With this script if i press Esc it exits, but not with Control Automation (i need control automation)

    3-

    $Esc::
    {
            WinClose, ahk_exe demul.exe
    }

    4- From the Pause Menu i tried also, if i go to Exit, it just goes back to the game.

    I cant make it work... and i tried on more than this PC, the one i have to make it work just launches 3 games that i want with Demul, the rest i make them work with Retroarch with Flycast, but Metal Slug 6, Dolphin Blue and Kings of Valour 7 dont work for me with Retroarch, so i launch them with Demul, they work fine, but i cant Exit Emulator... running out of options...

    PLEASE HELP!

    EDIT: I Figured one way to do it, with Xpadder i MAP the Automation buttons for exit to some keys, in my case 8 and 9, then i put this AHK with Demul:

    8 & 9:: { Process, Close, {{{StartupEXE}}} }

    Only way it works for me, but it's not ideal... i have to launch Xpadder with the games i want to use with Demul ONLY, cos if not, it interfere with my other emulators.

  4. I really like some of the future improvements, i wasnt available at brainstorm stream...

    I want to propose a fix in emulators menu, when i choose a emulator from the list and select the exe file or wathever and then change the name of the emulator... i have to again select the executable file... -.-

    On the Android aproach i want to say that should be awesome to have a good front end for a change in android, but only if it cost a few bucks or if it's included in the premium membership (at least for new members or add a few bucks to add android premium or something like that).

    And i didnt see the AUTO PLAY VIDEOS option in launchbox... i have to search in the cfg files or ini (dont remember) to change that option.

    Well the fact that you say it still happens even after you close Bigbox leads me to believe its something else on your system, if Bigbox is closed, then it's closed and not using any resources.

    yeah, i know that's not the application in fact... it's something that the aplication uses that's cleaned up after reboot... what could it be? what bigbox and retroarch use in common?

    Also what version of Bigbox/Launchbox are you running?

    9.5 i ended the "build" just 10 days ago and didn't see the point in update, cos i try every game from launchbox and they run fine, i even try the most powerful platforms from bigbox to not have any issue, didnt imagine that retroarch with really low end platforms will fail... from launchbox they run just fine, i cleaned everything even deleting any not working rom and left almost all with snap videos, it a super clean system cos i did it from scratch... this i driving me nuts!

    And I will say again, BigBox is running in the background while your emulator is running which takes up resources and while your hardware is capable of running said emulators, it cannot run those emulators while BigBox resides in the background.

    no man, you are not understanding... I CLOSE BIGBOX... CLOSE IT... FOR GOOD... and run the games from retroarch and they do the same thing... they dont work properly... but if i reboot without launching bigbox they run fine... WHY!!!!!???? it's not in the background... (i checked, a lot!)

    Depending on the retroarch cores you are using some of them can be harder to run than redream or epcsxe, it depends on the emulator how much cpu it needs, not on how old the actual systems they emulate are.

    the cores are a loooooot, i tryed almost everyone and for nes, snes, sega (all) gba... they are a very low resource depending compared with Redream or even Dolphin... i can run some GC games, not all but some... it cant be a performance issue, it must be some error...

    Not to mention, that Windows is also running in the background and likely using more ram than anything else. What sort of storage are you using? as that could also be a bottleneck with all the loading of images and such Bigbox does, then retroarch and its UI, then the actual core as well as windows, there is a lot of reads/writes happening there.

    yeah, i am monitoring that but storage is a 240gb pny ssd and works just fine... and i disable any windows service that's not necesary, like update, antivirus, it's W10 BTW... but why the problem persists after closing Bigbox and works everything ok after launching it before reboot... it's weeeeeeeeeeird!

    Yes and from what you posted it does run well outside of through BigBox but with BigBox you are really pushing that hardware hard. You didn't mention any graphics card so I will assume you are using on board video, either Intel or AMD and that has to share the ram as vram. With BigBox loaded and running in the background when an emulator is running there just isn't enough system resources left for the emulation.

    Maybe it's a library or somethin that BigBox and Retroarch use in common... somebody should know if there's something that they both use that could cause this...

    i will say again... i can run epsxe and redream from bigbox and it runs just fine... so, it's not a resources problem... even after i close bigbox, retroarch wouldn't work again fine until reboot... that's not a hardware or resources issue... it's some problem with bigbox with retroarch only...

    What kind of hardware do you have in that little bartop ?

    Atom Dual core 2.4ghz, 4gb ram ddr3, screen resoltion 1024x600, joystick is a transformed keyboard and the 2nd joystick is a snes replica usb. But i seriously doubt is a hardware issue, i can run redream with no issues... Retroarch should run excellent!

  13. Hi everyone, i have a really weird issue with Retroarch. I have Nes, Snes, Genesis, GBA and some Mame and Cps games running with retroarch, the rest with standalone emulators, epsxe(ps1), project64(n64), ppssspp(psp)...

    Now, to the issue... If i open any game from launchbox, it runs just fine from retroarch, any of the platforms mentioned.

    BUT... If i open BigBox, at any time... Retroarch will stop loading games properly... I mean... Even with BigBox closed and even with the same games with the same cores... If i dont open BigBox, they run just fine at proper speed, if not... I have to reboot and dont open BigBox at any time.

    The games loads and the  it will run like... At 1fps, i mean... I have to let the screen open like a looooong time to even see the start screen of any game, any platform.

    If i press F1 to go to the menu of retroarch... It takes a few seconds and runs just fine the menu... But if i return to the game... Still same issue...

    Recomendations? Thoughts? Something? I just have everything running and very nicely decorated to my little brother first arcade machine...

  14. I figure this out with the AutoHotKey Script, if anyone wants to know you have to put "&" between keys with Space between them, example:

    i want to exit pressing number 5 and number 6:

    5 & 6::
    {
        Process, Close, {{{StartupEXE}}}
    }

    I hope someone else benefits from this.

    EDIT: This metod doesnt work cos it anules the first stroke for any emulator, example: Y mapped "5" in project64 to be the Z Trigger, with this script when you press 5 "in game", it does nothing, even whit the correct mapping, outside launchbox/bigbox it works fine cos it is not waiting for the script to close the emulator.

    So far, only option is to add one KEY/BUTTON just for Exiting.

    If its a keyboard then escape will exit most emulators. Button combos are for controllers only.

  15. Hi everyone, i know im asking for a specific thing here, but i need to map 2 keyboard strokes to exit emulators and stuff... How can i do this without a third party app?

    Im building an arcade but "Manually", i mean, without a usb/controller interface, im using an old keyboard usb interface, with soldering and stuff, im almost finished it and realize that i cant exit with 2 keystrokes from anything... and i just dont want to add another button just for exiting. If anyone knows a  way, please help, even with third party app.

    By the way im under windows 10.

    Thanks for any kind of help.
